He starts experiencing real-time overlap, seeing himself in dozens of versions — victorious, defeated, monstrous. Zaiya, now weakened from overusing Rift navigation, warns that Kaien's power is no longer awakening — it's converging. The sword VyrnSpark begins pulsing erratically, like it remembers something Kaien does not.
To complete the restoration, Kaien must activate the final and deepest Cradle Engine: located within a forbidden zone known as the Zero Fold — the place where Benizame's soul last echoed through time.
Inside the Zero Fold, Kaien finds himself trapped within Benizame's dying memory. But it's no vision — it's alive. The collapsing fragments of Benizame's mind reconstruct the moment of his sacrifice. Kaien walks through burning Nexus ruins, watches Benizame fight Vaegros one final time… and then, is forced to fight Eclipse Breaker Benizame — not as a vision, but as a guardian test.
In this battle, Kaien must prove he is not a replacement — but a successor. After a devastating clash, he overcomes the memory. The VyrnSpark fuses with the core of VyrnEdge and evolves into VyrnFlare, now pulsing with his own resolve.
Emerging from the memory, Kaien discovers Zaiya was attacked during the battle. Mortally wounded, she leaves her journal behind, calling Kaien "our final hope."
Alone now, Kaien prepares for what's coming — as the Rift begins its final descent.
