Chapter 2 - SHE IS SPECIAL

"What did she do firing her shot upward" Clark thought as he sat down, he was so sure that she would win the tournament , she was by far the most talented of them all but what happened, he could have sworn that he it wasn't her just now, even though her eyes were closed she had this look in her eyes that made him feel fuzzy. Clark looked back once more at her still in her position eyes up and closed and that smile she crafted was devious as if she had done something amazing when she had just fired up her last arrow to the sky, Speaking of which, the arrow where was it, it had vanished in thin air. The more time she spent not moving just smiling to the sun, the more restless Clark got, A security man took a step to enter the field but thought otherwise given her uncommon position. Whatever was happening Clark found it highly entertaining. "What is she thinking just now".

Then her left leg moved and Clark butt followed it. She was returning to her position now but still with the bow stretched like there was till an arrow in it. Then she stood facing the target just like she was before it all. Clark was off his seat, steadily following her body movement, he was sure something was happening. A message came to his outstretched phone, he took a close peep without moving his body, it was boldly written "We have a winner" What happened next he did not expect

She was being carried home on the shoulders of some people, some she knew, many she did not know. She had won the archery contest with a blast, the arrow passed THROUGH the bull's-eye. She wasn't sure how she did it, all she could remember was herself stretching her arrow and next she was standing with an empty bow and a big hole on the target, the crowd went wild, she was crowned winner and now she had a $100,000 budget to plan.

A big feast was waiting her at their restaurant, she had never seen her family so happy together again, it was just like before, they gave out free food, everything was on the house, the joy was endless. Her mother once told her that her grandfather named her after an angel maybe she was right. She slowly danced away from the crowd of customers were to were her mother was sitting enjoying the fun, she looked at her mother with pride, her mother looked her in the eye, placed a hand on her cheek, "I am so proud of you" her mother said. "Thank you" she replied. "We can now afford to give you proper treatment and me and Carlton's tuition fees". "Thank you" her mother replied. She smiled at her mother, she was really thankful that her mother had not broken down or cried those tears of joy like other mothers when their children achieved great feet instead her mother had given her something she had been craving for in a really long time- a genuine happy smile, it was just remaining something. "Something's on your mind, go on…. tell me" her mother inquired. "Well….there's this…." Airazor hesitated, was she going to tell her mother that she wanted to leave them and go to some special school because it is what she had dreamed of, Mendellin Academy was developed to help train students mentally, socially and physically, it offered an advanced martial arts studies and archery class, what if her mother refused for her to take the scholarship? would she persuade her mother by telling that she had learnt how to fight her extracurricular martial arts class in school just to be qualified for the school requirements hoping that a miracle like this may one day happen, No! that would make it even worse, would it make her look less caring wanting to run away to a boarding school like that or would it make her mother feel like she was a hindrance to her happiness, what would she say, how would she put it, where do she start it. "Is it about the scholarship" her mother asked, she felt a little shocked, was her anxiousness showing on her face. Her mother slowly smiled, "Don't forget you purple jacket when you leave". "But ma…." she tried to challenge, she couldn't just leave them there. "Don't worry about us" her mother said standing up "I've got $100,000 in my account, Go show them who's boss" her mother said smiling. Someone turned on the music and people started dancing. Her mother joined in the dance. "Thank you" she said slowly to her mother "For everything". "But No more sad emotion's" "Now, Let's dance" Airazor said loudly and dragged her mother deeper in the dance crowd.

"Wait up" he yelled to his friend VIP and began walking to him, they had both been acting weird to each other since they got off the tournament. "So…. that girl" Clark said trying to spark up a conversation. "What about her" VIP replied coldly as if knowing what Clark wanted to do. "C'mon don't act like that… you know what I meant… she's kinda special…." Clark replied. "I dunno know what you mean" VIP replied stubbornly. "You'll know….. she's coming to school" Clark replied taunting. VIP gave a small frown.

"We've come a long way from the hood" Clark said stopping to look at the sunset. VIP took small steps before stopping too. "Thank you" Clark said to VIP. "You owe me your life" VIP said coldly. Clark laughed, when would this guy ever change, he was always so mean and straightforward, damnnn!!!!, but very kind and of all people Clark knew what that meant. His mind flooded back to some years back.

He was young barely 10 and tied on his two legs and hands by ropes while his foster father called out incantations, he was summoning a spirit, a special deity, he could remember lighting bolt striking through his body as the spirit possessed him, he could see vain shouts of his foster father as someone stabbed him from behind, he could once more feel the ease of his body as the figure in the darkness dragged the spirit away, he could still see the blur images of the fight between the spirit and the figure, he could see the figure defeating blow and the spirit falling down, the figure slowly moved towards him, he saw blur faces forming but behind the figure the spirit was getting back up and was about to attack him from behind, he could once more feel the courage he felt getting up despite the severe lighting holes in his body to us his last ounce of strength to dash across the figure and hold the spirit's lighting hands, he could see the look on the spirit face as he forced the spirit backwards, he could see the figure charging behind, he could remember the surprise on the spirit face as it faded in his arms just before the figure got near it. He remembered waking up in VIP's bed the next day. It was said that the god's blessed him for his selfless deed by giving him the spirit power and it's soul. He looked at his hands and from the corner of his eye saw VIP staring at him as if in the same truance with. His hands, what he could do, Was it really a blessing. "Let's go" the man who saved his life called to him. He looked at the sunset, the sun was almost gone, he looked at his hands once more, and joined VIP. "You're too emotional" VIP said attempting to lighten up his mood. "Well I can't blame it" Clark said with an outburst. VIP smiled a little "It getting late, lets head out". "Without the chicken" Clark persuaded. VIP took a brief look at him that had half-approval and half-refusal. A win is a win. "It won't take long" Clark said nudging VIP forward. The strode off with Clark singing happily and VIP with an appearance that said that he was just enduring the song.
