Every day while teaching the children, Elara reviewed official reports and organized the skill books already used in Plumera Kingdom, as well as many others still in her mind that she had not yet applied.
These technical books were the core driving force behind Plumera Kingdom's development. The ones already in use represented the current progress across various fields and industries in Plumera.
In summary, the crucial skill books that she had already used and that supported the functioning of all sectors in Plumera were:
First, Basic Ancient Terrain Management Solutions. The skills in this book were written down by Elara when Carnation sent envoys asking for ways to improve their environment. She taught these skills to the main officials in the Agricultural Department under the Ministry of Public Works.
Some of these officials were sent to Carnation Kingdom to carry out the mission, while others stayed and used the knowledge to keep improving Plumera's various terrains. As a result, Plumera gained more fertile farmland and could grow higher-yield crops.
Second, Basic Ancient Farming Manual. She had long since written down most of the knowledge from this book and taught it to the Agricultural Department. Much of the large-scale farmland development and farming techniques in Plumera today came directly from this book.
Third, Comprehensive Ancient Cold Weapons and Armor Forging. This book was even more important. All of Plumera's military weapons like swords, spears, halberds and crossbows mostly originated from it. Elara had passed on the knowledge to the Military Industry Department early on.
Because of this, Plumera's weapon technology saw a huge improvement. Many iron weapons, shields and strong crossbows were made. Even the lower-grade ones became major trade items between Plumera and its key allied nations.
Fourth, Ancient Epidemic Prevention Encyclopedia. This was the reward for Elara's first completed mission in this world. She had given it early to Oswyn, who used it to combine and study medical principles from both worlds. Thanks to him and this book, most diseases that once plagued Plumera had now been wiped out.
Fifth, Papermaking Techniques. This technology had become one of Plumera's core industries. It replaced the heavy and complicated bamboo slips and met the needs of all departments within the nation. Paper also became a vital trade item, with profits now serving as an important source of national income. Because of paper, one of the basic conditions needed for Elara to build public schools was now fulfilled.
Sixth, Basic Ore Smelting Techniques. Elara had obtained this book early. Although it only allowed for smelting common ores like iron, silver and copper, without it, the weapons in the Ancient Weapons and Armor Manual could not have been properly made with iron and other materials.
Seventh, Basic Ancient Architecture and Construction Manual. This was the last book she obtained among these, but it was extremely useful. The construction of the new Plumera City and the roads heavily relied on it. Elara had written down the knowledge and taught it to the Construction Department.
In summary, the main important skill books already used in Plumera were these. The rest were either less essential or had not yet been applied because Elara had not had time to write down and teach them to the relevant departments for use.
Thanks to the support and development brought by these technical books, Plumera looked very different from before. However, it still had not reached the level Elara envisioned. She still had many unused skill books in her mind that could help Plumera grow even stronger and more prosperous.
So over the next few days, while continuing to teach the children, Elara finished organizing all the currently used technologies. She also looked at the existing problems in Plumera and made a list of which skill books still needed to be written down and handed over to the various departments.
First, she had to write down the upgraded versions of many skill books obtained from the Divine Ruins, such as Intermediate Ancient Farming Manual, Comprehensive Intermediate Smelting Techniques, Intermediate Ancient Terrain Management Solutions, Intermediate Ancient Cold Weapons and Armor Forging, Intermediate Ancient Epidemic Prevention Encyclopedia and Intermediate Ancient Architecture and Construction Manual. These upgraded books contained more refined and precise techniques.
Elara planned to write them down one by one and give them to the proper departments to help them develop further.
For example, the upgraded Intermediate Ancient Farming Techniques included more detailed methods and care techniques for high-yield crops than the basic version.
Once the Agricultural Department officials mastered them, Plumera's future farming output would visibly double in growth.
The intermediate smelting and cold weapon techniques were especially important. The Intermediate Smelting Techniques included steel refining and the Intermediate Cold Weapons and Armor contained various stronger steel weapons. Once Plumera fully mastered steel refining, its weapons would reach a new level of quality and daily life would improve along with it.
The Intermediate Epidemic Prevention Manual, Elara planned to give directly to Oswyn for research. He would likely be very happy with it.
She also prepared to teach Intermediate Terrain Processing and Intermediate Architecture to the Ministry of Works.
These two upgrade manuals included much more advanced knowledge than the beginner ones, such as flood prevention buildings, water reservoirs, more advanced bridges, and underground drainage construction.
After these two books were taught to the Ministry of Works, the new capital and other future cities of the Plumera Kingdom would surely be built to be more multifunctional, magnificent, and grand. They would also have stronger resistance to natural disasters and similar threats.
After sorting the key upgrade manuals, Elara began organizing a list of skill books that the Plumera Kingdom still lacked but needed.
After organizing, she created several new skill books that she planned to teach to the departments one by one, enriching all aspects of the Plumera Kingdom.
First, Salt-Making Techniques — Although the Plumera Kingdom currently did not lack salt due to the trade agreement with Zhaiyun Pavilion, the scarcity of salt mines in the country was still a hidden threat. Actually, there were no salt mines in the original Plumera territory, but the newly annexed northern regions from the former Periwinkle Kingdom and Salvia Kingdom should contain some.
In any case, once Salt-Making Techniques was taught to the Ministry of Works, she would send people to explore salt mines across the country, then start mining and producing salt so that the people could eat salt made locally.
Moreover, although Zhaiyun Pavilion had salt, the salt-making technology in this world was extremely outdated and could not produce refined salt.
The techniques in Salt-Making Techniques happened to include refined salt production. Once they successfully made it, it could become another source of income for the national treasury.
Second, Printing Techniques — This technology was also urgently needed, especially after Elara decided to promote education by building many schools across the nation. Books and paper would be essential. Though paper-making already existed, without printing, copying books by hand consumed too much manpower. It was better to develop Printing Techniques as soon as possible.
In the future, besides printing books and papers needed in the country, they could also be sold to foreign nations, becoming a new commercial product of the Plumera Kingdom.
Third, Ancient Beginner Weaving Techniques — This book contained many basic ancient weaving skills. Though this era already had silk, the techniques were primitive, and weaving a single bolt of cloth took tremendous effort and time. This book not only included simple and refined weaving and dyeing techniques, but also the construction of basic weaving machines.
With weaving machines, time and cost for cloth production could be greatly reduced. The textile industry in the Plumera Kingdom could then grow quickly. After meeting the daily clothing needs of the people, they could also sell textiles abroad for profit.
Fourth, Ancient Mechanism and Engineering Techniques — The knowledge in this book, if given to Lucian, would surely make him very happy.
However, since he was still part of the Heavenly Works Pavilion, and although he had already become her mindless puppet and would never betray her, Elara still did not want to take the risk. At most, she would send him a few non-sensitive techniques for research, and try to get him to send some talented people to her.
There were too few people in the Plumera Kingdom who understood engineering and mechanisms. If she could get a few geniuses from Lucian, there would be no more worries in this field.
After all, those who earned the approval of Lucian in the Heavenly Works Pavilion were surely among the best in the world.
Thinking this, Elara immediately picked up pen and paper to write a letter to Lucian, asking him to secretly send over a few engineering talents — well-behaved, inconspicuous, smart, and with simple backgrounds.
She already had a commercial identity linked to the Heavenly Works Pavilion, and would later use it to do business with other major forces like Lianyi Tower.
So her relationship with the Pavilion didn't need to be completely hidden. It would serve as a layer of protection for her. Once Lucian sent people to her and they were stationed by her side, the suspicious looks and testing from others would also likely decrease.
As long as the Plumera Kingdom did not draw too much attention in the future, and operated like other merchant nations under the Heavenly Works Pavilion, quietly and obediently selling products labeled "Heavenly Works Pavilion," she could use the Pavilion's name to sell lower-quality items. With Lucian's cover, even when trading with major powers, the Plumera Kingdom's safety would be much better.
After she finished writing, and Black Hawk flew off with the letter, Elara continued checking what other new technologies were needed by the Plumera Kingdom.
After finally listing out all the skills she could think of that were currently useful, Elara searched her mind again and found that Glazed Glass Manufacturing Techniques was not yet acquired.
She took out one of the Choose Your Own Skill Book rewards from completing missions and used it to get Glazed Glass Manufacturing Techniques.
At this point, with so many new and advanced skill books crowding her mind, Elara felt a little overwhelmed, but also satisfied.
The Plumera Kingdom was still developing, and every industry had to progress step by step. No matter how much she taught, they still had to grow gradually.
Seeing her mind filled with all these technical books, Elara decided not to unlock any more for now.
This should be enough for now. Once all departments had fully grasped and integrated these technologies into actual production and daily life, then she could think about introducing more advanced and broader technologies.
