Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Old Demon

Dongfang Kunlun's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the little girl before him.

This was a priceless spatial storage ring, and yet she dared to dismiss it as a mere broken ring? If the others on the continent were to learn of this, they would surely spit blood in astonishment.

"Little girl, do you have any idea what kind of ring this is?"

Gu Qingli, of course, knew exactly what it was, but seeing Dongfang Kunlun's expression of frustration was truly amusing.

"Little girl, you've never heard of a spatial storage ring?"

Gu Qingli, being only five years old and having lived her life sheltered within the Gu family, was aware of the existence of many wondrous things in the world, though she hadn't yet encountered them herself. For the past five years, she had been engrossed in cultivating the Phoenix Fire Technique, thus never having seen much of the outside world.

"This is no ordinary storage ring. It is an Imperial-grade treasure! Named 'Silver Dragon,' it possesses a rare ability to enhance itself. The stronger you become, the larger the space within will grow. It is a truly invaluable treasure, one that I obtained after great effort."

Dongfang Kunlun had always cherished the Silver Dragon, intending to leave it to his disciple.

Gu Qingli raised her delicate brow after hearing this. She had known it was precious, but not to this extent!

She was familiar with spatial storage rings, as the head of the Gu family possessed one. Its design was extravagant, adorned with beautiful gemstones, and it was said that only a handful of people in the family could afford such a thing.

Moreover, such items were priceless and hard to come by.

"Alright, since you seem sincere, I shall accept it," Gu Qingli said, her expression impassive, though her heart was secretly overjoyed.

Dongfang Kunlun smiled helplessly, amused by the cleverness of this little girl.

"Little one, to activate the treasure, you must drop a drop of your blood on it. However, living creatures cannot be stored within it. If you ever find a skilled blacksmith and use a high-grade magical core to forge it, perhaps you'll be able to store living beings inside."

Gu Qingli nodded, then took a silver needle and pricked her finger, allowing a drop of blood to fall onto the ring. She then slipped it onto her pinky. The ring immediately shrank to fit the size of her finger, delicate and ancient-looking, so unobtrusive that it would go unnoticed by most.

With a slight movement of her mind, she could indeed see the space within the ring, which was roughly two or three cubic meters in size—though small, it was more than satisfactory.

"Not bad, thank you, Master," she said, her voice sincere.

At that moment, Dongfang Kunlun's mouth stretched into a wide grin, his laughter echoing warmly around them.

"Master, how old are you? Are you a Spirit Illusionist or a Martial Sword Master? What is Kunlun City?"

Gu Qingli asked with a flurry of questions, her curiosity getting the better of her.

Dongfang Kunlun raised an amused eyebrow. This little one certainly had an abundance of questions.

The two of them entered the room, where Dongfang Kunlun's expression darkened. The Gu family was truly despicable—this child was a member of their clan after all.

Gu Qingli went about pouring tea, her slender, delicate arms carrying a large, worn teapot. Though the sight might have made anyone feel a pang of sympathy, the little girl didn't seem the least bit tired.

Dongfang Kunlun took a sip of the floral tea. Its taste lingered pleasantly on his palate. Despite its simplicity, it was a surprisingly good brew.

"As for my age," Dongfang Kunlun said with a casual air, "I suppose I'm several hundred years old now. Time has passed so long that I've lost track of it."

Dongfang Kunlun thought to himself that he would need to find a "Age-Testing Stone" to check, as he had genuinely forgotten his own age.

Gu Qingli's eyes went wide with surprise. She gaped at him, her expression full of astonishment. So her master was actually an ancient being!
