Chapter 11 - BECAUSE I LIKE HER

"Why can't you forgive me? I am sorry, I am the one, who seduced you. It's my fault that she left the pack. Can't you forgive me this time? I will take all the blame…" Nadia said between her sobs.

It was the same old tune.

Right now, there was no point of blaming her, because the deed had been done and Fenja was nowhere to be found.

More so, it was very irritating to hear her blaming herself over and over again. Shayne felt she was mocking him, since both of them knew it was their fault. He was to be blamed as well.

"Stay away from me, Nadia. I don't want to talk with you for a while," Shayne said tiredly. He couldn't even scold her for bothering him again and again, because his mother would be on his hair.

And after some time, finally Nadia left him alone.

But not long after a warrior came to tell him that someone saw Fenja a few months ago.

"It seemed, she was heading to the capital city," the warrior said.

"Capital city?" Shayne frowned. Fenja had never been there. Would she survive there?

However, currently the woman he was worrying about whether she could survive the capital city or not was cooking her favorite dishes.

She found lamb meat inside the fridge.

The old man told her to help herself, thus she cooked this last meal for herself before she left, but before she could pack it, someone suddenly stood behind her.

"It looks delicious. I want it."

Fenja was startled and turned around to find alpha Jaxon was already standing behind her. He stared at her lamb meat and pointed his finger at it.

"I want it."

Fenja was too startled to respond, but then she remembered to call the old man, thus she went to get her phone she put on the dining table.

Unfortunately, the alpha was faster. He grabbed the phone and pocketed it.

"I want that one."

Though reluctant, Fenja finally relented. "Okay, you can have it. I will put it on the plate."

The alpha nodded.

This surprised Fenja. Not like the last time, alpha Jaxon looked more… docile, if she could put it into word. His eyes didn't flicker with malice and anger. The way he said he wanted the meat was actually rather… cute.

"Where are you going?" Alpha Jaxon asked. "I want you here with me. Don't go."

Fenja's brows furrowed. What the meaning of this? She blinked her eyes in confusion. Was this really alpha Jaxon? He was the complete opposite from the man she remembered.

"Don't go." He grabbed her hand and made Fenja sit down next to him. "Where do you want to go? I don't want you to leave."

"But, all my assignments have been completed, I should leave." Fenja tried to wriggle her wrist from his clutch, but his grip was firm. It was not hurt, but obviously, he meant what he said.

"I don't want you to leave. Stay here. I will give you whatever you wanted."

Fenja raised her brows. "Pardon me?"

As a respond, alpha Jaxon took out his own phone and opened the mobile banking app. "Write down your account and I will transfer the money you need. I will pay every second that you spent with me." His eyes turned sad. "But, don't leave…"

If this was a joke, it was completely nuts.

"I don't have bank account…" Fenja replied honestly. She didn't think to open one, since she had been receiving her salary in cash.

More so, she didn't have enough money to spare. She had been doing odd jobs before she settled in this one.

Alpha Jaxon frowned. "Where do you live? Are you doing this for living? How much do you make?"

The questions kept coming, which made Fenja was slightly taken aback and confused, but before she could answer, the old man had come and spotted them.

"Alpha!" He hastened his step to approach them. "I have been looking for you. You are not supposed to be here."

Fenja immediately stood up, she wanted to take a step back, but alpha Jaxon was still holding her hand.

"I told you to call me, right?" Jack looked at Fenja disapprovingly.

"But, the alpha took the phone."

Jack pressed his lips and then faced the alpha. "Alpha, why don't you come with me? Let her go, okay?"

"No." The answer was very curt, leaving no room for negotiation. Alpha Jaxon wanted this woman and he would get what he wanted.

"Alpha, you are hurting her." Jack saw Fenja grimace, the grip tightened because the alpha was aggravated. "Why don't let her go home for now? She will return tomorrow."

Fenja was not sure what was going on here, but she had a second thought to come back again, yet she said nothing about this thought.

"I will make sure she comes back tomorrow."

After so many persuasions, finally alpha Jaxon let go of Fenja's hand, but not before he kissed her wrist. Fenja gasped when his cold lips touched her skin.

He kissed her wrist solemnly, as if he was a worshipper.

"We will meet again sooner than you expected."

Fenja didn't know what the meaning of that, but she could feel this chill ran down her spine when she was finally able to get away from him and left the main house.

"I want her, I want to know everything about her. I want the information about her now." Jaxon ate his lamb meat and sniffed his hand that held Fenja earlier. Her scent still lingered and he liked it.

"But, alpha…" Jack looked frustrated.

"Didn't you hear me?" Jaxon crossed his arms, he frowned at Jack. "I want it now. I want to know where she is staying. She looks so poor."

Jack sat down and looked at his alpha closely. "Why are you so attached to her?"

Alpha Jaxon pursed his lips before he answered in small voice. "Because I like her."
