Luca looked at the screen, then down at the plain metal gun in his hand.
He thought this prototype gun, manufactured by his own company, looked a little familiar, but now the screen was naming it a "Dominator."
He actually felt that the appearance bore only a slight resemblance, about twenty to thirty percent, to the "Dominator" from the anime.
'So, the so-called core components aren't judged based on visual similarity? Moreover, the synthesis materials this time didn't mention an energy source or ammunition—could it be that these things are already included in the core components?'
A lot of questions popped into his head, but in the end, Luca decided to wait and not mess with it right now.
After all, even if he wanted to try synthesizing it again right now, Luca didn't currently have all the necessary materials at home for the 'Dominator.'
He glanced at the power indicator on the grip of the ion beam pistol.
Gina had only fired three shots earlier, but the energy was already down to the last bar!
That's one of the reasons why, even though the gun was powerful, had almost no recoil, and the ion beam didn't lose strength much over distance, it was still considered only a semi-finished prototype.
"It ran out of energy too fast. It's not great for long fights. Hmm, the high manufacturing cost is probably another reason..."
He muttered and tucked the pistol.
He couldn't synthesize the Dominator yet, but it looked like there were other necessary materials nearby that he could make right now.
Removing the backpack from his shoulders, Luka rummaged through it for a moment.
Finally, he pulled out a weird-looking monkey toy.
The toy monkey held two oversized brass cymbals, and a large winding key protruded from its back.
As Luka picked up the toy, a semi-transparent blue panel popped up as well:
[Monkey Bomb]
[World: Arcane – 1/5]
[Manufacturer: Powder]
[Core Component: Toy Monkey]
[Synthesis Materials: 3 Unstable Energy Crystals]
[Item Description: A simple yet highly destructive toy bomb. Its explosive power relies entirely on three Hextech. The bomb has limited short-range mobility and triggers explosions through repeated cymbal clashing, setting off the unstable Hextech.]
[Note: Before using this bomb, please make sure none of your friends or family are nearby.]
Surprisingly, this childhood toy of his could also serve as a core component for synthesis.
The synthesis materials were surprisingly "simple," requiring only a single type of item.
Yet despite being just one component, Luka had no idea until now what kind of crystal in the real world could qualify as an "Unstable Energy Crystal."
He couldn't find the one material he needed, so of course, he couldn't synthesize the bomb yet.
Luckily, this wasn't an ordinary real world.
Luca looked at the two headless Chitauri in his house and felt a spark of excitement in his eyes.
If he remembered correctly, Vulture gained access to advanced technology by salvaging and repurposing items left behind by the Chitauri.
Moreover, the Chitauri Energy Core the Chitauri always had were highly unstable.
In fact, in the movie, they could even explode just from going through an X-ray machine at airport security.
Those Chitauri Energy Core should meet the requirements listed on the synthesis panel.
He acted the moment the thought crossed his mind.
Taking a few quick steps toward the headless corpses, Luca ignored the gruesome scene on the floor and immediately began inspecting their bodies and weapons.
The two Chitauri only had some basic Chitauri Staff. They weren't very powerful, and the parts were built with compact, unfamiliar internals.
Even though they emitted a purple glow, Luca couldn't figure out how to disassemble them in a short amount of time.
Luca tried to pry one crystal embedded in the backs of their hands out, but it didn't work.
Instead, he grabbed one of the Chitauri Staff and, using its blade-like edge, sliced down at the wrist of the corpse.
'It's four Chitauri Energy Core.'
Luka thought for a moment, then decided not to keep prying at the crystals with the blade. Instead, he drew a circle on the ground like a magic circle.
After a few seconds, Luca placed the toy monkey in the middle of the circle and put three hands with Chitauri Energy Core at three points around it.
As expected, the three Chitauri Energy Core began to emit a faint white glow in succession.
"It's working!"
Without hesitation, Luca placed both hands on the edge of the circle and silently chanted in his mind: "Synthesize."
Immediately, the glow intensified, and the circle in front of him was enveloped in brilliant light.
After a few seconds, the light disappeared, and a blue crystal now connected a strangely shaped toy monkey and its two cymbals with two identical crystals embedded inside its body.
The Chitauri Energy Core that had originally been embedded in the aliens' backs had vanished without a trace, leaving only their cleanly severed hands still lying in place.
"Huh? The Chitauri Energy Core turned into blue ones?"
Luca had originally assumed that this seemingly simple item might just involve polishing the crystals and placing them into position after synthesis.
However, it now seemed that no matter what materials he used, the resulting item would always revert to its original form from the source work.
Somehow, the Chitauri Energy Core had been turned into shiny Hextech!
Luka carefully picked up the 'Monkey Bomb', twisted off its removable head, and gently took out the glowing Hextech from inside.
Suddenly, a pale blue panel reappeared:
[Hex Core]
[World: Arcane – 2/5]
[Manufacturer: Viktor]
[Core Component: Hextech]
[Synthesis Materials: 1 small stable miniature reactor, 4 different magic runes]
[Item Description: This is a powerful fusion of magic and science that pushes the boundaries of Hextech. It offers limitless energy and holds the potential to gloriously evolve living organisms. That is, of course, if the body and soul are capable of withstanding the corrosive nature of arcane and rune-based forces.]
[Note: If you don't want to destroy the world... or yourself, it's strongly advised not to let this touch anything alive.]
Luka stared at the screen.
It was talking about infinite energy and glorious evolution.
"How is this even fair??"
