"What the hell is this about?" Catherine Shaw slams her phone down on the marble dining table, her perfectly manicured fingers trembling with rage.
Ruby Mills sits across from her in the Shaw family's opulent mansion, fidgeting with her designer handbag. The afternoon sun streams through floor-to-ceiling windows, casting long shadows across the polished floor.
"I'm telling you, Cat, it was definitely him. Aiden Knight."
"That's impossible." Catherine's voice cuts through the air like a blade. "The Aiden Knight I knew was a pathetic loser who couldn't even afford decent clothes."
Ruby shifts uncomfortably in her chair. "But the way Victor Thorne treated him... like he was some kind of royalty. I've never seen Mr. Thorne show that level of respect to anyone."
