*Madison's POV*
My face flamed red at his comment. The casual way he appraised my body, the knowing smirk on his lips. This wasn't how I'd imagined this confrontation going at all.
"I don't think that's any of your business," I managed, my voice shakier than I wanted.
"Fair enough." He gestured to the chair across from his desk. "Why don't you sit down? We should talk."
I remained standing. "I need to call security."
"Do you?"
Something in his tone made me pause. The confidence in his voice wasn't the desperate bravado of a cornered man. It was the quiet assurance of someone who held all the cards.
My eyes drifted to the access card again. Then to the files spread across the desk. I caught a glimpse of company letterhead, official documents.
"How did you get in here?" I asked.
"I walked through the front door."
"That's impossible. Security would have stopped you."
"Would they?"
He reached into his jacket and pulled out a business card. Slid it across the desk toward me.
