The soft glow of starlight still bathed the Sacred Dimension as Kael stirred beneath the folds of a silver-blossomed tree. Evelyne lay beside him, her raven hair fanned like ink across his chest, her breathing light and even, like waves kissing a distant shore.
Time flowed differently here. Though it had been only a handful of hours in this pocket of reality, outside, days might have passed. Kael ran his fingers slowly along Evelyne's spine, tracing the contours of her back with idle reverence. He had memorized every curve, every sigh, every delicate tremor of her body.
He closed his eyes briefly. Four wives. Four flames in my soul.

Later, they lay tangled together again. Evelyne rested her head just above his heart.
"Kael," she whispered. "Have you ever wondered what comes after all this?"
He blinked. "You mean beyond strength? Beyond revenge?"
"Yes," she said. "When you finally burn your last enemy... who will you be then?"
Kael stared into the canopy above. "Someone worthy of standing beside all of you."
She looked at him, her voice suddenly quieter. "Do you ever think about what it means to truly be free?"
He turned to her, brows furrowed. "You're not?"
Evelyne hesitated. "The Sacred Dimension is beautiful, Kael. But it's a cage. I've been here for centuries. Time flows differently here... one day outside equals ten years inside. I was exiled and sealed here when my people betrayed me—my own kin feared the extent of my cultivation."
Kael's expression darkened. "You were locked away... because you were too powerful?"
She nodded. "They feared I'd claim the Worldbreaker Crown. They staged a false prophecy. My father gave the order."
Kael clenched his fists. "And you've waited here... alone?"
"I tried to resist," she said, her voice cracking slightly. "I even tore open parts of the realm, trying to escape. But the barrier binds me to this dimension. My soul is tethered. Only someone with a matching resonance could ever free me."
Kael met her gaze. "Then we'll find a way. Together."
She smiled softly. "That's what scares me. You're the first to ever reach me. And now... I don't want to let you go."
He kissed her forehead. "Then we don't leave separately. When I go, I take you with me."
Before either of them could speak further, a tremor rippled across the dimension.

He wore no armor. His body was skeletal, adorned in ceremonial black tattoos. Eyes glowing with violet void-light.
"Bearer of Sin," the stranger said in a voice like crumbling tombstones. "Your soul echoes across the worlds. The Scourge Sovereign bids you die slowly."
Kael narrowed his gaze. "Funny. I was hoping for someone uglier to test my new strength."
Evelyne conjured moonlight blades to her hands. "You sure you want to fight here?"
Kael's smirk returned. "They invaded my peace. Let's welcome them properly."
