Chapter 5 - First Spell

At Mr. Lister's plantation.

Aiden looked at Professor Sprout.

"Aunt."

"I still need to plant three acres of cotton."

"That will take quite a while."

"It's too hot and stuffy here, and you must be busy."

"How about you go attend to your matters and come back for me tomorrow?"

"Or give me the address, and I can go myself."

Professor Sprout, however, showed a gentle and loving expression.

She firmly rejected Aiden's suggestion for her to leave.

"That won't do."

"Aiden, I can't let you out of my sight again."

"Don't worry."

"School hasn't started yet, I have plenty of time."

"Besides, I'm a master of Herbology."

"You have no idea what demanding environments some magical herbs require."

"This little bit of stuffiness is nothing to me."

Aiden nodded.

He no longer insisted.

He was about to go get his tools for digging and tilling.

Just then, Professor Sprout smiled.

"Aiden, even though you haven't started school yet."

"But you already have your own wand."

"You need to get used to casting spells with your wand."

"That's much more convenient than Muggle tools."

Then, Professor Sprout drew her wand.

Pointing the tip downwards.

Aiming at the soil.

She drew a spiral outwards from the center.

Finally, she gave her wrist a slight flick.

"Terra—Laxus!"

"Earth Loosening!"

"This is a spell specifically used for loosening soil."

"It's used a lot in Herbology."

"This is much simpler than wielding a shovel."

As Professor Sprout explained.

A yellowish-brown light erupted from the tip of her wand, sinking into the ground in front of her.

Aiden watched in amazement.

The soil began to turn over on its own.

The stones within were pushed out.

Some hardened clumps of earth also became loose and soft.

In the blink of an eye, this became the 'dream soil' Aiden had envisioned.

If he were to achieve this using Muggle tools.

Even with his skill, it would require considerable effort.

But now.

In an instant, magic had accomplished everything.

"This is magic?"

Aiden exclaimed in admiration.

"Amazing, truly amazing."

Professor Sprout's face also showed a hint of pride.

She wasn't someone who liked to be showy or ostentatious.

She was usually very low-key and modest.

But in front of Aiden, the only blood relative of the Sprout family.

As an elder, she couldn't help but want to receive a look of reverence.

Aiden was also very obliging.

He sincerely praised her.

"Aunt, you're much better than a large tractor."

"Tractors need oil, you just need to eat."

"If you were here, we could contract all the farms in London."

Professor Sprout heard this.

And showed a look of not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

This child, Aiden.

Why does he have such an obsession with planting more land?

Then, she showed Aiden an encouraging expression.

"Aiden."

"This soil-loosening Aidenm is very simple."

"Would you like to try?"

Aiden also nodded.

Following Professor Sprout's movements just now.

Aiden brandished his ash wood wand.

"Terra—Laxus!"

Almost identical movements and incantation.

This brought a look of joy to Professor Sprout's face.

Although this soil-loosening Aidenm wasn't difficult.

For Aiden, a child who was casting spells with a wand for the first time.

Being able to perform it perfectly on the first try could already be considered excellent performance.

This proved that Aiden's learning ability was definitely far beyond ordinary.

But then.

Professor Sprout's expression became a little dim.

Because although yellowish-brown light also erupted from the tip of Aiden's wand.

This one soil-loosening Aidenm.

Only slightly softened the surface layer of the soil.

Compared to Professor Sprout's spell just now.

It was a world of difference.

Professor Sprout sighed in her heart.

There was nothing wrong with Aiden's casting gesture or incantation.

The only thing that was wrong.

Was his magic power.

Ollivander was right.

Aiden's magic power was indeed too weak.

Significantly weaker than the average level of young wizards.

This also meant.

The spells he cast would be slightly weaker than normal.

At the same time.

Some high-level magic.

Wizards with strong magic power could learn quickly.

But Aiden would need more practice.

But soon.

Professor Sprout put away the worry and disappointment in her heart.

Because Aiden didn't seem to care too much about the weakness of his spell's power.

Noticing Professor Sprout's gaze.

Aiden smiled.

"My magic power is much weaker than that of a normal young wizard."

"It's normal for the spell power to be a bit weaker."

"But it's still better than a shovel, right?"

"Just do your best."

Then.

He cast the soil-loosening Aidenm again and again.

Then easily turned over the soft soil with a shovel.

Digging holes suitable for planting cotton seedlings.

In a short while.

One cotton seedling was successfully planted.

[Successfully planted cotton x1]

[Claimable reward: Extremely slight increase in heat resistance (incubating)]

[After the cotton matures, this reward will be upgraded to - slight increase in heat resistance, extremely slight increase in drought resistance]

A ball of light was bouncing on the cotton seedling.

Joy appeared in Aiden's eyes.

The efficiency of planting with the soil-loosening Aidenm was much higher than with a shovel!

In the same amount of time, his efficiency had increased by at least three times!

And he also made a discovery.

Due to the perfect soil condition created by the soil-loosening Aidenm.

On the cotton seedling he had just planted.

The reward light ball seemed to be a little bigger than usual.

Aiden's expression shifted.

Could it be that planting particularly well could also improve the quality of the reward?

Although it seemed that the improvement wasn't significant.

But he had only achieved perfection in the soil loosening step.

If all steps were done perfectly.

Then the improvement should be quite considerable.

And this was just one plant.

If several acres, or dozens of acres of plants had such an improvement.

Then the cumulative effect would be astonishing!

With this discovery.

Aiden's mood improved further.

He was like someone who didn't know fatigue.

Constantly waving his wand.

Casting one soil-loosening Aidenm after another.

Even if the effect of a single soil-loosening Aidenm wasn't that good.

His high frequency made up for it!

This is where the advantage of being a wizard in the Harry Potter world became apparent.

Magic in this world requires magic power to support it.

But it doesn't consume magic power.

In other words - infinite mana!

As long as your physical strength can keep up.

Then you can cast spells infinitely.

And the abilities Aiden had accumulated from farming over the years.

Had long since made his physical strength far surpass that of ordinary people.

He could work almost without rest!

Professor Sprout watched Aiden constantly using the soil-loosening Aidenm.

Her expression also became more and more astonished.

Even she couldn't cast spells at such a high frequency.

And continue for such a long time.

Aiden's physique.

Does he really not have giant blood?

Finally.

Within the scheduled time.

Aiden not only completed his planned three acres of cotton planting.

He even planted an additional four acres.

If Professor Sprout hadn't been truly worried.

And insisted that he stop and rest.

Aiden felt like he could have stayed up all night today.

Planting with magic.

This was too awesome!

Professor Sprout was originally very worried about Aiden's physical condition.

But seeing Aiden looking energetic.

And even seeming eager to plant a few more acres to get his fill.

She also relaxed.

"But Aiden."

"That's enough for today."

"Come back to the Sprout family with me."

"Get a good rest for two days."

"I also have a greenhouse in the family."

"You can see many magical plants there."

Aiden heard this.

His eyes lit up.

He dismissed the urge to continue planting two more acres of cotton.

Time was limited.

Using the same amount of time to plant magical plants.

The return would definitely be higher.

Naturally, he wouldn't refuse.

Soon.

Aiden packed up his things.

Especially the three marguerites that had already been successfully planted.

Then, under Professor Sprout's surprised gaze.

He jogged past the fields he had planted.

As if saying goodbye to the plants he had grown.

A look of relief appeared on Professor Sprout's face.

"So passionate about plants."

"Even if this child can't achieve much in magic."

"In Herbology, he already has the best talent."

And in the view that Professor Sprout couldn't see.

Aiden had already claimed all the rewards he hadn't yet received.

Including the rewards for the seven acres of cotton seedlings he had just planted.

All claimed!

In an instant.

Countless light spheres converged around him.

On the system panel.

[Heat resistance increased from Epic to Legendary]

[Drought resistance increased from Diamond to Epic]

These two lines of prompts appeared.

Aiden also walked out of the plantation.

Waving his sleeve.

Goodbye, Muggle world.

Life in the magical world.

Begins!
