VEILBREAKERSEpisode 1: "Wrong Place, Wrong Planet"(Full Version)
[Location: Abandoned parking garage | 2:43 AM](Rain drips through cracks in the ceiling. City sirens howl somewhere below. The whole place smells like rust, gasoline, and something worse.)
(Three men in black suits and gloves walk in. Silent. Tactical. One has a scar under his eye. Another adjusts his earpiece. The third — holding a matte black SMG — is already aiming.)
Agent #1 (into comm):"Target confirmed. Third level. Alone."
Voice over comm (distorted, robotic):"Good. Secure the package. Kill the loose ends."
(In the center of the parking lot: KAEL. Nineteen. Hoodie. Scuffed sneakers. Earbuds in. Typing something on his cracked phone like none of this matters. There's an untouched can of soda next to his foot.)
Kael (without looking up):"'Kill the loose ends'… Wow. That's creative. Almost had me worried."
(He pockets the phone. Stands. Rolls his shoulder. Still calm. Still bored.)
Agent #2 (smirking):"You're not special, kid. Wrong place, wrong time."
Kael (shrug):"I am special. I'm just not stupid enough to admit it yet."
(A metallic hum — like someone twisting sheet metal with bare hands. Suddenly: THREE SHAPES drop from the shadows above.)
[ALIENS.]➔ Humanoid, barely. Limbs jointed wrong. Skin shifting like heatwaves. Their eyes glow faint blue, but their mouths… their mouths shouldn't exist.
Agent #3 (grinning):"You're carrying something that doesn't belong here. That makes you property of The Directive."
Kael (deadpan):"Yeah? Well, this is my parking spot, and I don't like company."
(Reaches down. Picks up the soda. Pops it open with a click-pssshh. Takes a sip. Watching the alien things approach like he's just waiting for traffic to clear.)
(One of the creatures screeches— static and metal scraping through blown speakers.Behind Kael, a BLACK SUV pulls up fast, tires screeching sideways. Doors BURST open—)
➔ Black tactical gear. Blue glowing trim. Weapons drawn. These guys don't look like government. More like private war.
Operative (shouting):"MOVE! Get away from him!"
Kael (blinks, confused):"…Are you guys here to save me, or shoot me next?"
(One of the aliens leaps. FAST.)
Operative (firing):"DOWN!"
(Gunfire tears through the air. Modern. Loud. Real. Lead slams into the creature — but instead of dying, it glitches. Parts of its body flicker, like bad VR. The bullets are slowing it, not killing it.)
Agent #1 (grinning):"They're phased. Regular rounds won't work."
(Kael sighs. Tosses the soda aside. It hisses across the concrete.)
Kael (calmly):"Alright."
(Pulls a sleek 9mm from his hoodie pocket — matte black, one scratch across the barrel. Simple. Clean. Modern.)
Kael:"My turn."
*(He shoots. Once. But not at the aliens. At the fire sprinkler system.)
(BANG.)Pipes explode. Rusty water rains down in torrents. The flickering lights make the whole scene look like a bad dream.)
Kael (half-smiling now):"Let's even the odds."
(The aliens lunge again — but as the water hits their glitching bodies, they distort worse. Parts of them start folding in the wrong directions. Static screams through the room.)
Unknown Voice (echo, digital, through comms):"PHASE INSTABILITY DETECTED. FULL BREACH IMMINENT."
(Then— the roof caves in. Not collapsing. Breaking. Like someone just dropped a mirror the size of the sky. A massive CRACK spirals across the ceiling, blue light pouring through it like blood from a fresh wound.)
Operative (shouting):"IT'S STARTING! FALL BACK!"
Kael (calm, blinking slowly):"…Starting what?"
(Out of the crack: A figure steps out. Not an alien. A human. Or something close. Cloak. Metallic tattoos. Face hidden by a mask of shifting data. Voice like ice and thunder mixed together.)
Masked Figure (to Kael):"You don't even know what you are yet… do you?"
(Kael's jaw clenches. For the first time — emotion. Not much, but enough.)
Kael:"Does it look like I care?"
(A pause. The Masked Figure laughs — slow, deliberate, terrifying.)
Masked Figure:"Good. You will."
