Leticia's eyes flashed with a sudden intensity, the crimson hue of her irises deepening as she stared at Amelia. The bracelet on her wrist seemed to glow faintly, as if responding to her emotions.
"I'm afraid that's not possible," Leticia said calmly, her voice tinged with a hint of steel.
"This bracelet was a gift from someone very special to me. It's not something I can simply give away."
Amelia's smile faltered slightly, but she quickly recovered, her eyes narrowing imperceptibly.
"I see," she said, her tone sugary sweet.
"I was just admiring it. No need to get so defensive, sister."
Leticia smiled at Amelia sorry you want her to be kind and lower a defensive there is no way. She flipped her pink fan and her colorful eyes sparked.
"I'm not being defensive," Leticia replied smoothly, her fan fluttering gracefully in her hand.
"I'm simply stating a fact. The bracelet is irreplaceable to me."
She paused, studying Amelia's face with a calculating gaze.
"But perhaps there's something else you'd like instead? I could have a new one commissioned, tailored specifically to your tastes."
Amelia hesitated, tempted by the offer but unwilling to concede defeat.
"That's... kind of you," she said reluctantly.
"But I think I'll pass. After all, how could anything compare to a gift from someone 'special'?"
Her words dripped with sarcasm, and Leticia's smile tightened imperceptibly. Amelia you are as fake as they come.
Leticia's fan snapped shut with a sharp click, her eyes flashing with annoyance. Amelia's sarcasm didn't escape her notice, and she found herself growing tired of the girl's games.
"I'm glad you see it that way," Leticia said coolly, her voice dripping with disdain.
"If you'll excuse me, I have matters to attend to. Enjoy your evening, Amelia."
With that, Leticia turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Amelia standing alone in the hallway. As she strode through the mansion, Leticia's mind raced with thoughts of her mother's betrayal and the threat Amelia posed to her carefully constructed life.
She entered her private chambers and locked the door behind her. Crossing to the window, she gazed out at the sprawling gardens below, her grip tightening on the bracelet.
As Leticia settled into her bed, she couldn't shake off the lingering anger and frustration from her encounter with Amelia. She stared up at the ceiling, her mind replaying the conversations and the girl's audacious requests.
After a while, she sat up and reached for the book on her nightstand a worn leather tome filled with ancient magic spells and rituals. Flipping through the pages, Leticia's eyes scanned the intricate diagrams and complex incantations, searching for something to distract her from her thoughts.
Suddenly, a soft chirp drew her attention. Tun Tun, her pet bird, fluttered onto the bed beside her. Leticia smiled faintly and stroked his feathers gently.
"You're right," she murmured.
"I shouldn't let that girl get to me."
With a sigh, Leticia closed the book and set it aside. She lay back down, pulling the covers up to her chin as Tun Tun curled up beside her.
"Goodnight," she whispered, closing her eyes and willing herself to sleep.
Leticia had a dream and the dream was her holding a middle age man. His hair was black. He seems to mutter something what she saw was Amelia in the car with a red sport car.
Early the next day
There was a pinked haired maid who was so happy to take care of Leticia. She bubbly and she brushed Leticia hair.
"WOW Young Miss your skin is so smooth and your hair is so beautiful dark navy blue ahh you are so beautiful," The maid named Luna said so happily and Leticia closed her eyes as she petted her pet. Ever since Amelia has returned since well yesterday bunch of servants who worked for her gathered their things to serve the real daughter. Leticia did not scream or complain she just handled herself but this servants stayed back for unknown reason.
It seems adoptive mother plans to take everything away and gifted it to her biological daughter it seems being genetic is so important she felt like crying but no tears came out.
"My lady Madam Morgan and Master Quinn invited you to their studies, oh what do your want to wear?" Luna asked. Leticia picked out a black white skirt, a matching top, and a light red jean jacket with ankle boots.
Leticia nodded quietly, her expression unreadable as Luna helped her dress. She couldn't help but notice the maid's enthusiasm, a stark contrast to the cold indifference she often encountered from her own family.
"Thank you, Luna," she murmured softly, standing up and smoothing out her skirt.
As she made her way to her parents' study, Leticia's mind raced with possibilities. What could they possibly want to discuss with her? She steeled herself for whatever was to come, her heart pounding in her chest.
Before she knocked Leticia heard adoptive parents voices.
"It would be too much for Amelia to take over Leticia position," Quinn said.
"Well I agree after all Leticia isn't blood related to us at all. I reckon she should know her place soon enough she should be a servant of my daughter," Morgan said. Leticia clenched her fists and unclenched them.
"It's true the two of them are similar heights but remember Leticia has blue hair and colorful eyes while our daughter has red hair."
"I know that and we already have a photographer coming over to take photos of our precious daughter. Anyway I will have Leticia wear a wig."
"Do you think that is okay?"
"It's not switching it's returning everything that belongs to my daughter the fake should return everything."
"What about Amelia? Mm do you think she would be a quick learner?"
"She is a Princeton by blood," Morgan said.
"I see what about Leticia what would you do?" Quinn asked.
"Mmm she should know her place soon enough," Morgan said indifferently she never lied Leticia.
Her place? Where is her place it seems she truly will becomes farmer daughter hut she did mind that at all.
Compose yourself Leticia knocked and she heard come in.
"I heard you call for me."
"Yes your fiancé will return soon."
Fiancé oh right she does have a fiance she forgot about that Leonardo Rohan Novak. The crown prince whom everyone refers to as the maverick of imperial family.
Although we have been engaged since we were kids she has not seen him for 7 years in truth his nothing more than a stranger in her heart. Within these 7 years Leonardo has proven himself in numbers ways. In the battle fields his like a monster that cuts thought enemies his cape of dark navy blue stain in red, his sword cuts through flesh like butter. He has countless of nicknames, Man Eating Shark, Devil King, Blood Lord, and the Death God.
"I will hasten your marriage with the crown prince however you will marry him as Amelia. You will wear a wig. Amelia is my biological daughter and well we must make sure that this crown prince is not a person who will harm Amelia."
Leticia narrows her eyes so yes also want to take away her birth name.
"Does the royal family know?"
"No as you know we can't break the promises anyway for the sake we can't break off the engagement."
Leticia figure out what she was doing. A mother would never allow her pure honesty daughter to marry a man who is known to be ruthless, cruel, who has shot people without a second thought which has created enemies all over different worlds. So the only option she has is to push Leticia into this marriage make her wear a wig and wear eye contacts that way they would in the future have the royal family back.
