Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

The rain poured down on the city, casting a gloomy shadow over the concrete jungle. Yato Shinji, a 30-year-old office worker, sat in his car, stuck in the evening traffic. He had just finished a long day at the office, dealing with paperwork and meetings. As he inched closer to his destination, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him. He was looking forward to a relaxing evening at home, maybe watching some TV or reading a book.

The sound of raindrops hitting the car's roof created a soothing melody, and Yato's eyelids began to droop. He had been driving for hours, and the monotony of the task was starting to take its toll. Suddenly, a loud screech pierced the air, followed by the sound of crunching metal. Yato's eyes snapped open, and he felt a jolt of fear as he realized that his car had been hit.

The world around him became a blur as he struggled to comprehend the situation. The sound of shattering glass and twisting metal filled the air, and Yato's car was spun around like a toy. He felt a searing pain in his chest, and his vision began to fade.

As the darkness closed in, Yato's thoughts turned to his family and friends. He wondered if they would be okay without him, and if they would miss him. The pain and fear began to subside, replaced by a sense of calm and acceptance.

And then, everything went black.

Yato's life had been ordinary, filled with the daily routine of an office worker. He had few close friends, but he had a strong sense of responsibility towards his job. His parents had passed away when he was young, and he had grown up alone, relying on his own wits to survive.

As he lay dying, Yato couldn't help but think about the choices he had made in life. He had always been driven, pushing himself to succeed in his career. But now, as he faced death, he realized that there was more to life than just work.

The darkness enveloped him, and Yato's consciousness began to fade. He didn't know what lay ahead, but he was ready to face whatever came next.

The sound of sirens echoed in the distance, growing fainter as Yato's life slipped away. The world around him became silent, and he was left alone with his thoughts.

In the end, it was just Yato, alone and adrift, facing the unknown.
