Synopsis
In his world, magic is a special power possessed only by a select few. The Ascendents, humans chosen directly by the Gods and Goddesses, possess extraordinary—sometimes even terrifying—power. They are capable of mastering magic and other forces with unmatched skill. Because of this, Ascendents are highly valued by the kingdoms to protect the realm and ensure the prosperity of the people. However, not all Ascendents have noble hearts. Some of them have fallen into dark ambitions. They crave power and seek to dominate the world with their abilities. They look down on ordinary humans and refuse to be seen as equals. Often, these Ascendents spread terror, cause chaos, and even kill without mercy. With the power of an Ascendent, a human takes one step closer to the might of the Gods. If they can break through the limits of their strength through the grueling and painful process of Ascension, they can even become a God. Amidst the chaos caused by the wicked Ascendents, ordinary people can only cling to one hope: a protector. Someone who will rise, stand against evil, and bring hope to a world on the verge of ruin. Chapter 1 - Chapter 00 - Prolog

Disaster and chaos in the world are not mere coincidences. They are signs that the God of Destruction is fulfilling his sacred duty. He does not arrive to annihilate without purpose, but to test all living beings—to ensure they do not grow complacent in the joys bestowed upon them by the Goddess of Life. Without suffering, creatures become greedy and lose their gratitude.

Humans are extraordinary beings, gifted with abilities unmatched by any other creation. For millions of years, they have transformed barren earth into magnificent cities with their advanced technology—building entire civilizations using only the resources at their disposal.

The Goddess of Life has crafted beauty and abundance in the world: lush vegetation, wild beasts roaming free, fish gliding through oceans, and humans harvesting their bounty. But over time, people began to forget themselves. Given a little, they demanded more. Given much, they craved everything.

And so, the God of Destruction's purpose begins. He brings disease, calamity, and ruin—not to destroy, but to remind. In suffering, some learn compassion, care for one another, and rediscover life's meaning. Others, however, sink deeper into avarice.

The Goddess of Life and the God of Destruction are two of the Four Pillars that maintain cosmic balance. They represent opposing forces—like light and darkness—impossible to merge, yet inseparable.

One day, an unforeseen calamity struck the gods. Their sacred home, The Divine Realm of Etherion, was shattered by an unknown deity's hand.

Because destruction falls within his domain, the God of Destruction was immediately blamed. Time and again he proclaimed his innocence, stating he was not the culprit. Yet not a single god believed him.

Despite the baseless accusations, he offered no defense. He cared little for their suspicion. He continued his sacred duty of preserving cosmic balance—becoming the storm so mortals may value peace, becoming darkness so the world may know the meaning of light.

1906, Kingdom of Arkamaya

"Hey, thief!" An apple merchant tried to catch the man who stole his fruit.

"Hahaha, catch me if you can, fat man!"

"What's going on, sir?"

"That weirdo took an entire box of my apples!"

"What? So he's a thief? Let's go after him!"

Thief, weirdo, or madman—that's what people called him. He was someone who liked to cause trouble in this kingdom. Others were often angered by his behavior. He did all of that only for the happiness of someone who meant the world to him.

"Damn it, that thief got away!"

"Sorry, merchant. We couldn't catch him."

"It's alright, everyone. I thank you for helping me. Just this once, I'll let that weirdo go. Let's return."

The thief managed to escape the townspeople's pursuit. He ran so fast that no one could catch up to him. On top of that, he also ran into the Cursed Forest, which made the villagers hesitate to chase him. They knew that anyone who entered the forest would never come back. They thought the thief would die once he entered that forest.

Knock, knock... The thief knocked on the door of an old house deep in the forest.

"Who's there?" came the voice of a woman from inside the house.

"It's me. Tada!"

"Hahaha, you're back already?"

"Yes, honey, look. I brought you a whole box of apples. Don't worry, I bought these apples with my own money. Come on, let's eat together."

"Alright, just put them over there. I've also cooked something for us to share."

"Yay, we're having a feast tonight!"

The thief had a very beautiful wife with long, silky black hair. The two of them lived in the forest, in an old house with no one else but themselves. Even though they lived alone, they were a harmonious and happy little family. Especially since they had just been blessed with a cute little baby.

As the people in the kingdom said, this forest was cursed. There were countless wild animals living in this place. Not just wild animals, but monsters also roamed the forest. Those monsters devoured anyone who entered. That's why no human had ever made it out alive after going in.

That family intentionally lived in this place. It was because they were poor and couldn't afford to rent a house, let alone buy one in the kingdom. On top of that, the high taxes made the couple choose to live in the forest. Here, they could get anything they needed. There was an abundance of food—both animal meat and fruits were readily available. Furthermore, due to the many trees in this forest, they could craft various tools using wood from the fallen trees.

"Hi, handsome. Daddy's home."

(The baby laughs)

"Come, dear, let's eat now."

"Alright."

On the dining table, delicious food prepared by his wife was served. The thief ate heartily all the food that had been made. Simple meals made from ingredients gathered in the forest. With the wife's cooking skills, those unusual ingredients turned into delightful dishes.

"Honey, why don't you want us to live in the kingdom? I could earn a lot of money by becoming an Ascendent. You know I'm a chosen one. So are you."

"My dear, I don't want anything to do with that kingdom anymore. If you become an Ascendent, you'll just be used as a weapon for the kingdom. I don't want that to happen!"

"Alright, I understand. I just thought… I might be able to give you and our son a much better life."

"You don't need to worry. As long as I'm with you and our son, any life we live—I will be grateful for."

"Thank you so much, for choosing me to be your partner. I'm truly grateful."

Amid their financial struggles, they still felt happiness in living together. Their emotions peaked at that dinner table. They embraced each other, comforting themselves from the cruelty of the world's economy. They knew they couldn't provide a better life for their son. But they were still grateful to be living together. Until death do them part.

Cough! Cough! The thief's wife coughed and spat out blood. She looked critically ill.

"Honey, is your illness flaring up again?"

"No, dear. I'm fine. It's just a normal cough."

"But… your cough has blood. I know—I have medicine for you. Here, drink this, finish it all!"

"Where did you get this potion?"

"I bought it, from a Alchemist's shop. Don't think about it. Now, please drink it so you can get better."

The thief's wife had been sick for a long time. She didn't yet know what illness she was suffering from. But over time, it gradually improved. That was thanks to her regenerative abilities. She was an Ascendent of the Healer type, capable of healing various diseases. Even so, her condition never truly got better because her illness was not an ordinary sickness—it was a curse. According to the alchemist the thief met in the kingdom, her condition was a curse.

CRASH... (The thief's door shattered)

"Hand over the Ichor now! If not, you'll all die here!"

"Who are you?! How did you find this place?!"

Just as the thief's wife was about to drink the potion, several men wearing royal armor barged into their home. The soldiers came to take back the Ichor (God's Blood / Elixir ofImmortality) that the thief had stolen from the royal palace. The thief tried to protect his wife and son. He didn't want them harmed because of his mistake.

"Quickly now! Hand over the Ichor to us. If you still care for your wife and son."

"My love, just give the potion to them. It's okay. Our safety matters most right now." The thief's wife begged him to hand the potion over to the royal soldiers.

"Alright, here—take it and get out of here!" The thief handed over the potion to the soldiers.

"Hahaha, do you think we'd let you go after committing such a major crime? Hah!"

Slash...

"Argh..."

"Nooo..."

The thief's right arm was slashed by a sword. He was badly wounded and lost a lot of blood. Seeing her husband injured, the wife used her healing magic. Noticing her strong healing ability, a man with blond hair and shining armor approached.

"Hold on, dear. I'll heal you."

"Thank you, honey. Erk..."

"You're a Healer?! Rare to find one with such great mana. Come with me—I'll change your life." The blond man invited the thief's wife to join him.

"Watch your words! Who do you think you are?!" The thief was angered by the blond man's behavior.

Thud... The thief was kicked by the blond man, crashing through the wall of his house.

"You shut up. Do you know who I am? I'm this nation's Hero!"

"Hahaha, how dare you speak like that. This man isn't just an Ascendent—he's on a whole other level. He's a Hero! Humanity's savior!"

"What do you really want from us? You've already taken the potion. What more?"

"I want you—to join my party. With my party, you'll be a renowned Healer. Your life will be filled with riches—you'll never have to live in this filthy place again."

"Wealth is not my life's priority. As long as I can live with my husband and my son, I'll be happy!"

"So that's your decision? Fine. You're not the only Healer in this world. Don't act so proud!"

Stab...

"Arrghhtt..."

"Nooo... You bastard!"

The Hero had killed the thief's wife. He stabbed her right through the heart. Seeing her dying, the thief was consumed with rage toward the Hero. He tried to avenge his beloved.

"Honey, hold on. You can still heal yourself." The thief cried as he held her tightly.

"My dear… please take care of our son. Tell him about me—so when he grows up, he can accept me as his mother. Forgive me, son. I can't raise you. But I believe your father will shape you into someone noble. Please… forgive me." The wife died in the thief's arms.

"Nooo... Honey... Hiks, hiks "

"Don't worry. You'll be joining your wife soon."

"Hahahahaha… You humans are always like this. I'll destroy you all!" The thief was furious with those who had killed his beloved wife.

"Hahaha, so the villagers were right. That guy's gone mad! Hey, madman—what's your name?"

"Name?"

The thief stood in front of his son, beside his wife's corpse. His rage made him seem insane. He planned to kill them all. They didn't know he was also a powerful Ascendent, protecting the home from the monsters in the forest.

"You may call me… Mr Thief ." He tipped his tall hat as he introduced himself.

Suddenly, the atmosphere in the house turned terrifying. The wind howled violently. Thunder rumbled. Outside, a fierce storm roared. The soldiers panicked as a dreadful aura erupted from the thief's body. Without warning, the soldiers' heads began exploding—one by one. All of them died instantly.

"What?! No, impossible! Who are you?! I need to get out of here!"

"You… Hero, the one who murdered my wife. I will not let you live in this world. I will erase your soul so you won't even exist after death! Explosion !"

The Hero panicked upon seeing all his men dead. He ran out of the house in desperation. But the moment the thief pointed his finger toward him, the Hero's body exploded—leaving no remains.

"Hahahaha! You foolish humans chose the wrong enemy!" The thief laughed maniacally amidst the corpses of the royal soldiers.

After slaughtering them all, the thief took his wife and son—not just away from the house, but away from the Earth. With his magic power, he transported them to a place far safer, where no human could ever disturb them.

The place the thief went to was one that had no concept of space or time. A world far beyond Earth. Not even the gods could step foot there. It existed in another dimension. A long-forgotten, hidden place. The place where all dreams from all beings—gods and goddesses included—gathered. This world was called The Dream Realm of Dremarion.

"I'm sorry, honey. Dream in this place, alongside the other yous. Surely, your dreams will be beautiful. I will protect our son with everything I have until he becomes the savior of the universe!"

Fragment Of The Rullers To 1906

In this world, there was no life except for the guardian—Zel'Onir, the god of dreams who never sleeps. He had to watch over all the dreams in this world. If any creature had a nightmare, Zel'Onir would shatter the dream bubble, causing the creature to awaken from its sleep.

In this vast world, there was a special place usually used by the highest gods to dream. Only beautiful dreams existed here—an eternal, everlasting place. It was this place that the thief chose to bury his wife in her final resting place: a dream that would last forever.

"You're back?"

"Hey, Zel. It's been quite a while since I last saw you."

"It's only been a minute since you left this place."

"Really? Hee... But it felt like I lived a whole lifetime with my wife."

"Aren't you tired of searching for the Fragments scattered across dimensions?"

"I will never grow tired of doing that."

"You're even risking your own immortality."

"Who needs immortality when you live alone?"

"The gods surely won't stay quiet. When they realize the worlds are thinning, they'll come to stop you."

"Oh, right, Zel. Can I entrust my son to you? Here, take him." The thief handed his son to the dream guardian god.

"I'm not a babysitter!"

"Hahaha, calm down. You'll come to like him. Isn't he an adorable baby? For the first time, after thousands of lifetimes with my wife, I finally have a son. He's so precious to me. So you'd better take good care of him—and don't try anything. If you do, I'll erase you from existence!"

"Do, whatever you want."

"Good. I'll be off now. Oh right, I forgot—feel free to train him once in a while. See you in one more minute again!"

"Wait!"

The thief once again left the Dream World. He had entrusted his son to the guardian and returned to Earth. But this time, he didn't return to live there. Instead...

Outer Space...

"Hah, look at this Earth. It already looks so old. I don't know how old this Earth is in this dimension. But I think it's time for her to rest."

The thief danced joyfully in space. While gazing at the enormous planet Earth, he danced with delight. Before long, he pulled out a black trumpet from a magic dimension. He continued his dance while holding the trumpet. After dancing for a while, he blew into the black trumpet. The sound was so loud that every human on Earth could hear it.

"Big Bang..."

Tuuuuutt... (The trumpet's sound echoed across the entire Earth)

And in an instant....

BOOM!!

After the thief blew the trumpet, all living beings on Earth instantly perished. No creature remained alive. Then, the next blast of the trumpet shattered the Earth and the universe in that dimension. The explosion was so massive, it could be heard throughout all corners of the cosmos.

"Honey, soon we will meet again. No matter how many universes I must destroy, no matter how much death I must bring, I will always search for you across all dimensions. Of all the countless beings, why do you always reincarnate as a human? I do not hate them... but if I must destroy Earth just to meet you again, then I will do it! Until we meet again in our next life, my Honey."

After successfully destroying Earth and the universe in this dimension, the thief's body began to fade. He started vanishing after using divine powers that no one had ever possessed. In the end, his body disappeared completely—erased by the consequence of his own power. He died with a heart full of joy, knowing he would soon be reunited with his wife in the next life.
