Chapter 2 - Volume 1 Chapter 2 - Tang Hao's Awakening

As he fell off the cliff, a tear rolled down from Tang Hao's eye, painfully flying through the air.

Closing his eyes, he suddenly found himself in the body of a baby.

When Tang Hao woke up, he felt something strange.

Looking at his hands, he said in surprise:

"Why are my hands so small...?" He moved and looked at his body. "This... Am I a baby?"

Six years have passed since then.

A boy sat on the top of the hill. The smooth rays of the sun gently fell on his face, and the wind blew through his silky dark hair.

It was Tang Hao. He sat cross-legged, meditating.

"Hmm... Why can't I unlock the first ability of the Heavenly Eyes?" No matter how much he tried, it was as if something was getting in the way...

Tired from trying, Tang Hao exhaled:

— Haaa...

And fell on his back. Raising his hand to the sky and looking at it, he whispered:

— Six years... Six long years ago, I found myself here in the Spiritual Continent. Here, children from the age of six begin to awaken their spirit...

He stood up, shook off the dust and headed to the village.

When he reached the house, Tang Hao went inside and saw his father sitting at the table.

Father was drunk, frowning at one point.

Hearing footsteps, he turned around:

— Tang Hao... you came.

— Yes, father.

— Okay... Make dinner.

— Okay.

Tang Hao went to cook. After twenty minutes, everything was ready, and he called:

— Father, dinner is ready.

Father came out of the bedroom, sat down at the table in silence. Tang Hao served him food and sat opposite him.

Father started the conversation:

— Do you want to become a mage?

Surprised, Tang Hao nodded:

— I am father. Tomorrow I will awaken my spirit... Why do you ask?

Father sighed heavily:

— If you really want to become a mage, I have one condition.

He looked straight into his son's eyes:

— You must have a good fighting spirit. Otherwise... I will not allow you to follow this path. No matter how much you ask me.

— But why, father?

— In the world of mages, to protect yourself, you need to have strength.

If you have a weak spirit, you will not be able to protect yourself or those you love.

Do you understand me?

— ...Okay, father.

After eating, Tang Hao cleaned up and went to bed.

The next morning, an old man approached their house. It was the village elder.

He knocked. Tang Hao opened the door and bowed:

— Hello, elder.

— Haha, Tang Hao, how are you?

— I'm fine, elder. Would you like to come in?

— No, my boy. I came to pick you up. The awakening ceremony will begin soon. Where is your father?

— He's sleeping.

— Okay. Then let's go.

Tang Hao closed the door and walked with the elder.

They came to a large building. At the gate stood children, the same six-year-olds as he was.

As Tang Hao approached, he heard whispers:

— Is this... not dangerous?..

Suddenly, a mage appeared. The children looked at the middle-aged man standing at the gate in surprise.

— Elder, are these all children?

— Oh, hello, mage. Yes, everyone. They are ready to go through the ceremony.

The magician nodded, turned to the door, created a seal and poured magic into it.

The door opened by itself.

- Children - this way. No outsiders allowed.

- Children, go! - said the elder.

Having entered, the door closed behind them. The children looked around in surprise.

- Haaa, how beautiful it is here... - one girl said in admiration.

The boys looked around silently.

The magician stepped forward:

- So, children. Line up!

Everyone lined up.

- Today I will tell you how spirits awaken.

First, I will create a circle of seals, pour my magic into it - and

I will awaken your spirit.

And also, with the help of the ball, we will find out how much magic each of you has.

- Is everyone clear?

- Yes! - the children answered loudly.
