The pain in my neck still lingered from Bryant's attack.
His power was no joke… one small push and I was down like a weak pup.
I stared at my reflection in the mirror — a bruise formed on my jaw, a cut near my lip.
But none of that hurt as much as what I saw in his eyes.
Rage. Possession.
He didn't just want Rosa safe… he wanted her for himself.
"Tch." I scoffed, dabbing ointment on the cut.
It was funny… the girl he protected so fiercely had once looked at me like a savior.
