After finishing her breakfast after too much struggle, Natasha sat at the edge of her hotel room bed, her mind still lost in thoughts. The dream had left her pondering over various possibilities and uncertainties. As she stared into space, contemplating, her phone suddenly buzzed, interrupting her deep thinking.
With a lot of curiosity, she picked up her phone and unlocked it. A new message from Dave appeared on the screen. The message read, "Hey Natasha, I'm outside. Let me know if you're ready to go."
Looking at the clock, two hours had already up since the time she talked to Dave that morning. She could tell what she was doing all that time; she had the whole time thinking about the weird dream. A faint smile formed on Natasha's lips as she read the message. She was glad to have someone by her side during this hard time. Quickly, she tapped on the reply button and typed, "I'll be down in a moment. Just give me a few minutes to finish up."
With the body energized again, Natasha got down from the bed to quickly get ready because Dave was already outside waiting for her.
She walked over to the wardrobe, pulling open the doors while her eyes scanned the many clothes hanging neatly inside.
Considering the type of visit to the museum and a lot of walking, Natasha chose a pair of comfortable trousers and a simple, yet stylish, top. She had to pick something comfortable that won't make it difficult for her to walk around. The weather was a bit warm so she didn't need any kind of heavy clothing to protect her body from the cold.
Natasha wasted no time as she quickly took off her previous attire and slipped into the trousers. Next, she put on the pink blouse, which draped loosely, giving her a relaxed yet elegant appearance.
She stepped closer to the full mirror in the corner of the room and took a moment to admire her reflection. She liked what she saw, she looked more energized and refreshed than the previous day and there weren't more tears on her face.
Natasha felt confident as she stood there, admiring herself more and more
She realized that the clothes she chose were not just a mere covering for her body, but an expression of her inner self. In that moment, she felt a glimmer of hope and excitement.
With a final adjustment of her outfit, Natasha picked up her bag and made her way to the door. She glanced back at the mirror one last time, admiring the image of the transformed woman before her. Stepping out into the corridor, she closed the door behind her and went downstairs.
Outside the hotel gate, Dave leaned against the car with his eyes on his phone. When Natasha got out of the gate, she could clearly see him. He looked vibrant with a casual outfit, a t-shirt and khaki jeans. His hair was neat, and he looked like a gentleman.
"Hi Dave," Natasha's voice was heard.
"Hi Natasha, how are you today? Hope I didn't come earlier than you expected," Dave spoke with a bright smile on his face.
Natasha extended her hand to shake him," I'm good, and you look very nice today," she said.
"Thanks very much, here, let's go," he said as he opened the car door for her.
Dave felt very nice hearing those nice compliments from such a beautiful girl. For sure, no one has ever told him that he looked nice. Maybe that was because of his nature of job, which wouldn't allow him to woo girls. To Dave, the compliments were nice, but he would never want his boss to hear those words coming from Natasha's mouth. Although he didn't know too much about Natasha, he could tell that his boss cared very much about her.
In fact, when he informed his boss that he would be accompanying Natasha to the museum, he warned him several times not to do anything he wasn't assigned to do. He was told that he should only protect her without having any thoughts about her. With any thoughts, he knew what his boss was trying to say.
"Set now?" Dave asked as he tied his safety belt.
Natasha smiled," Yeah, we can go."
Dave stepped on the accelerator and the car sped away.
Inside the car, Natasha still had the feeling that something wasn't right, and Dave could tell that something was disturbing her.
"Do you have anything in mind?" he asked curiously. At first, Natasha didn't want to share her problem with the man she met just a day ago, but later she decided to talk.
"Dave, I had a dream two consecutive days where a very close person to me was being tortured by men that I can't recall their faces. The dream seemed so real. What could it mean? Ooh, and I have this feeling that something bad is about to happen."
Dave listened to her attentively," Don't think too much about it, dreams are never a reflection of reality."
Natasha could not calm down." But why should I have the same dream twice?" She asked.
"Natasha, maybe it's because you have been thinking too much about that person. Nothing will happen to him."
Natasha nodded her head. Maybe she had those dreams just because she was still thinking about Kenny.
Dave's explanation made sense. She didn't want to explain the details of the dream to him. Natasha also didn't want him to know that the person she was talking about was her ex-husband, who divorced her a few days ago.
"And if I may ask, who is this close person?" Dave asked.
The question caught her unprepared, she quickly thought of an answer," Mmmh, he is just a very close friend, forget about it," she added.
"Okey, don't worry too much, nothing bad is going to happen," Dave said.
