Chapter 10 - Hidden Skills

They were all surprised when a man walked into the canteen, with several other prison guards following him.

The man with brown eyes, black hair and the full uniform of a Chief Warden was walking towards two prisoners who were about to fight.

As he approached, the two people who were about to fight immediately turned to him.

"You touch her, you die today. I won't guarantee your life if you come into contact with her. It's possible that she'll be locked up in isolation along with your head," he said as if giving a warning.

And that warning did not come from him, but from Selene.

Caelum turned to Selene, who was covered in blood, and the other six men lying on the floor covered in wounds.

"You've been in my prison for less than a month, and you've made trouble again, prisoner 5261. And what have you done this time?"

"It's not my fault." She answered so casually and then continued her sentence. "They started it first by throwing the food I was eating. I hadn't even touched the meat soup I had, but they threw it away."

"Was there a specific reason why they did that to you?" he asked again with a stern expression and angry at the commotion in his prison, but controlled.

One of the other prisoners tried to explain what he had seen, that Dargon and his men had thrown Selene out of her seat simply because it was the table where they usually ate.

Caelum's eyes narrowed sharply, glancing at Dargon who was currently holding back his anger.

"Just because of a table and chair, you caused a scene in my prison with a female prisoner?"

"If I say yes, then what? It's that bitch's fault that she dared to refuse my order to get up from our place," he replied.

"You know that no food should be wasted in this prison. And because of you, some food was wasted," Caelum retorted.

Dargon laughed, then he pointed at Selene. "Tell her to eat the food spilled on the floor. It's her food, so she should be responsible."

"Why should I eat it? You and your men threw away my food," Selene said as she folded her arms in front of her chest.

"She has a point." Caelum confirmed Selene's statement as he was the one who had caused the problem.

Annoyed, Dargon walked over to Caelum and stood in front of him. His body was much larger than the man's.

"What's going on? Are you now starting to defend a female prisoner like her? That ignorant bitch whore?" he asked.

"Watch what you say in front of me. You can say that to other prisoners, but not in front of me. And I want you to remember, I'm not trying to defend her. But you started trouble over a trivial matter in my prison. So that is your punishment," he replied explaining Dargon's untrue accusation.

The other prisoners looked terrified without being able to say anything when the two most powerful men in the prison faced each other. One was the prison gang leader, and the other was the chief warden of their prison.

"But looking at it again, Chief Rothwell does look like he's defending that female prisoner. Is it possible that the rumors are true?"

"I don't know. But he was very brave to reprimand Dargon. Let alone telling him to eat the food spilled on the floor," another prisoner whispered.

They whispered again, guessing who would show strength in the prison. Who was actually the strongest between Dargon and their chief, Caelum.

Because there was definitely only one person who could be the strongest in the prison, even including the chief warden.

Hearing that he was being doubted as the strongest, Dargon glared at Caelum as if he were challenging him.

"He doesn't look strong at all. He can rule only because he's the chief warden of this place. Without that, he's just a weak man!" Dargon said with a dismissive laugh.

"Do you think so?" asked Selene as she looked at Dargon.

"Aren't you also a nobody without your men? You even took cover behind them like a coward. Letting them take charge against me earlier," she continued in a very mocking tone.

"You-!!!"

"Enough!" Caelum interrupted Dargon, his voice loud and firm. "Clean up this mess and then you can go back to your cells. And as for you..."

He turned to Selene who was still standing there with an annoyed look on her face. "Meet me in my room in 5 minutes. Clean up the mess you've made."

The man then turned to walk away, leaving the canteen so quiet. However, just as he turned to leave, Dargon suddenly attacked him. He was upset, feeling that Caelum was being unfair and siding with Selene.

They were all surprised when Dargon attempted to hit Caelum from behind. Selene herself was surprised, not expecting him to attack Caelum.

However, the attack missed him and Caelum moved quickly to hit the vital part of Dargon's neck. He turned around, using his arm to hit the vital area next to the prisoner's neck, causing him to pause as he felt the pain in his neck.

Quickly, he caught Dargon's arm and twisted it behind his body pushing him down so hard onto the floor that his face hit Selene's spilled leftovers from earlier.

THUD!

A loud thud echoed through the cafeteria as Dargon's massive body was knocked down in mere seconds by the Chief Warden.

They were all dumbfounded, about to fall over because they did not expect that the chief warden had such extraordinary skills.

"Did he just..."

"So that's his ability? Damn, he's strong as hell. No wonder he can be the chief of this super dangerous Redboiler Prison," said another prisoner who was still shocked, scared but also amazed with respect.

Selene herself was also shocked, her eyes widened and her heart beat faster than usual as she witnessed the scene before her eyes.

'He is not only handsome, authoritative and also has a high position. But his abilities are also extraordinary,' she thought at the time, causing a smile of admiration to spread across her face.

"Fuck, he's hot," she muttered.

Dargon was facing the floor, his face smeared with food debris and his body restrained by Caelum on his back as he stepped on the man's shoulders to prevent him from moving.

"You should be lucky that I just told you to clean up all the messes you and the all have made. But you're trying to do it the harder way. In that case, I'll give you the hard way," he said in a cold voice.

He then released the man, straightened his clothes and turned to the other wardens.

"Make sure he cleans this canteen with the other 6 people."

"Yes sir!" they replied in unison and began to pull Dargon's hands and those of the other six.

"Then put them in isolation for three days."
