Chapter 39 - Chapter 39

A Desperate Plea and a Risky Offer

Adrian held Elsa's hand and asked her to sit back down next to him. Once Elsa was seated, Adrian immediately put his arm around her.

"Sorry if I'm butting in, but listen, Meri, I don't know about him, but this is clearly your fault, right? It's not that I'm being cruel, but you have to take responsibility for your own actions, don't you?" Adrian said.

"Yeah, I know that, but honestly, I'm out of options. Remon is in this state too, and I'm just so lost. At least until this baby is born, then I'll leave, or I'll even be your maid and take care of the house, I don't need to be paid, it's fine," Meri said, starting to cry.

Seeing Meri, who looked so desperate, and Remon, who was asleep in a drunken stupor, Adrian looked at Elsa.

"What do we do about this?" Adrian asked.

"Sorry, Meri, I need to discuss this with my man first," Elsa said, standing up and pulling Adrian's hand.

"O-okay, Elsa," Meri replied.

Elsa pulled Adrian into the bedroom. Once inside, she closed the door and stood in front of Adrian, looking towards the door.

"You can see through walls, right? Keep an eye on her, make sure she doesn't steal anything," Elsa said.

"Yeah, I got it. So, what do you think?" Adrian asked.

"Honestly, I really don't want any trouble," Elsa replied.

"Hmm, yeah, I get that. Just being pregnant isn't the problem; the problem is they're still using drugs. There's no way they can get clean quickly," Adrian responded.

"Exactly! That's what I'm thinking too. Pregnancy alone is wrong, plus drugs? Not to mention if they start harboring dealers in my grandma's old house, that's dangerous, right?" Elsa asked.

"This is really a mess. Vero is truly something else, passing off problems like this to us," Adrian replied.

"So, what should we do?" Elsa asked.

"Look, do you want to help them or not? That's the first thing. If not, just kick them out. I don't want to deal with problems that aren't mine," Adrian said.

"I don't know... I'm not really fond of Meri, especially not Remon, but I feel bad for the baby. I'm torn," Elsa said.

"Haaah... I have a crazy idea, but I'm sure you won't agree," Adrian said.

"What is it?" Elsa asked.

"Let's put them in that world until they recover. There are no drugs there, and she can give birth there too, right? How about that?" Adrian suggested.

"In our house? No way," Elsa immediately replied.

"We can build them a house. We just need to expand the backyard fence," Adrian said.

"But will they be comfortable there? There's nothing there, no smartphones, no TV, nothing like here, right?" Elsa argued.

"Hmm, this is complicated," Adrian replied.

"Forget it. How about this: we lend them my house in Bandung, but with conditions. If any drugs enter my house there, I'll be furious. I'd rather destroy the house then. And Remon needs to get a job. Meri can be a maid, that's fine. Nobody's taking care of the house anyway; it'd be a shame for it to just get dusty," Elsa decided.

"Alright, go talk to them then. And how will they get there?" Adrian asked.

"Well, we have to take them. I don't trust giving her the key. Once they're there, then I'll give her the key," Elsa replied.

"Ugh, this is getting complicated, but okay, I've never been to Bandung anyway," Adrian replied.

"Haaah... I'm actually not thrilled about going to Bandung again either. Oh, yeah, I'll walk in Bandung. If anyone asks, just say it's prosthetics or surgery, something like that. Nobody will understand this," Elsa said.

"Haha, alright. But don't let anyone see us using our powers here, okay?" Adrian replied.

"Got it, don't worry. You have plenty of wigs in your unit, right? Hehe," Elsa said.

"Yeah, you're right. Come on, let's go out now," Adrian replied.

"If it wasn't for the baby, I'd just feed them to Galvin and be done with it," Elsa grumbled.

"Alright, alright," Adrian said, calming Elsa down.

To Another World?

They both came out of the room again and sat back down in front of Meri and Remon. Elsa took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Okay, here's the deal: I'll lend you my house in Bandung, but you have to work. I'll pay you until your baby is born, considering it as birth expenses," Elsa said.

Hearing Elsa's words, Meri immediately burst into tears. She hugged Remon's head next to her, who was still asleep.

"But he has to work outside; not in my house, understood?" Elsa said, pointing at Remon.

"Yes, Elsa! Thank you so much, Elsa!" Meri cried.

"Once your baby is born, if you or that man haven't found a job, you can still use my house, but not forever, remember that," Elsa stated.

"Yes, Elsa, I understand," Meri replied.

"And finally, if I ever hear that my house becomes a drug den or that both of you are still addicts, I will destroy my house with you inside it. I'm not just threatening you, understand?" Elsa warned.

"Yes, I understand. I'm so sorry; I've just become a burden to you. I thought you wouldn't even come out to meet me earlier," Meri said.

"If I hadn't come out, that man wouldn't be here anymore. My husband would have massacred him," Elsa said, pointing at Remon.

"Are you still mad at Remon, Elsa?" Meri asked.

"I will never forgive him, ever, and don't you dare try to convince me to forgive him. If you do, both of you won't leave here," Elsa replied sharply and angrily.

"Y-yes, I understand. I won't ask you to forgive him. I also know what he did to you," Meri said.

"Yes, and you kept quiet about it. In fact, when I came back from Singapore, you even told him I was home, even though I used to consider you a good friend. That's messed up," Elsa said angrily.

"I'm sorry, Elsa. Even so, I still consider you a good friend. We grew up together since we were kids," Meri said.

"Huh, you only say that when you want something. Come on, let's go," Elsa said.

"Y-yes, I'm not asking you to forgive me, but I'm truly grateful to you. And how are we getting there? I don't have money for a train ticket," Meri replied.

"Huh? Train ticket? Who wants to take a train? But please keep this a secret. If not, it won't be Elsa who handles it; it'll be me," Adrian said.

Adrian looked at Elsa, who nodded. Then they both pressed a button on their wristwatches, and a portal opened. Meri's eyes widened, and her mouth dropped open in shock. Adrian supported Remon, who was still asleep, while Elsa pulled Meri's hand. They stepped into the portal. But once they were inside,

"W-where is this?" Meri asked.

"Isekai," Elsa replied.

"Seriously, Elsa?" Meri retorted.

"Yeah, seriously. Don't believe me?" Elsa asked, turning to look at Adrian.

Thud! Adrian dropped Remon to the ground, then he closed his eyes. "Kyuuu!" A small red dragon flew into the house. Meri immediately fell to the ground, sitting, when she saw Galvin enter and perch on Adrian's shoulder.

"I-is that a dragon? How is that possible?" Meri asked.

"I told you, this is an isekai," Elsa replied, stroking Galvin's neck, who looked pleased.

"Alright, Elsa, open a portal to your house in Bandung," Adrian said.

"Yeah, just a sec," Elsa replied.

"W-wait," Meri said.

"What now?" Elsa asked.

"Um... is this really an isekai?" Meri asked.

"Yeah, why?" Elsa asked.

"Um... can I just live in this world?" Meri asked.

"Huh?" Adrian and Elsa asked simultaneously.
