"The secrets I know should not be wasted like this! Time is running out. If you are not prepared, then I will proceed..."
"Could it be... you..."
"Hmph. It seems you don't intend to stop. Instead, you wish to stop me?"
Laughter born of extreme anger erupted from Adam. He looked at A with a crazed smile as his body dissolved into specks of light, leaving only his final words hanging in the air:
"Let us see which of us will be victorious!"
After bidding farewell to the pretentious teen, the monitor A had longed for finally appeared before him. Through the Cognition Filter, A could clearly see Ye Lan finishing off the false Binah.
However, the "End Day" button remained greyed out. Something that even Ye Lan, with all his foreknowledge, was unaware of was slowly emerging within the facility.
While A was still searching for the cause of the anomaly, a figure began to materialize in the main lounge of the Architecture Team. But no matter how A searched, he couldn't locate the anomaly on his monitoring screens.
"Angela, what is happening inside the facility? I can't end the day."
"Manager, a new false Binah has been confirmed in the Architecture Team. No... confirmed, a false 'Arbiter' has spawned."
"What?! I understand."
The Manager unloaded the bullets from his custom handgun and loaded a single flare. Then, while opening a communication channel, he fired the flare toward the Architecture Team's lounge.
"This is A, reporting to all personnel. An abnormal ordeal spawn—a false 'Arbiter'—has appeared in the Architecture Team. Warning to all employees: you must unite. Only by giving our utmost effort do we have a chance to defeat her."
Hearing this warning, Ye Lan's vision nearly went black, and he almost slid off the corpse of the fake Binah he had just killed. Unlike Geburah, Binah, a.k.a. "Lock-mom," specialized in long-range attacks.
Moreover, as a former part of the City's "Head," she could use various methods to interfere with containment work. Ye Lan had only managed to defeat her phantom because his colleagues had worked tirelessly to nullify the special abilities she unleashed.
The backlash from disabling those abilities had created vulnerabilities, allowing Ye Lan, in his Twilight suit, to find a way to win.
However, those weaknesses and strategies were for fighting Binah after she had been turned into a box-head.
The being appearing in the Architecture Team now was Garion, the "Arbiter of the World."
It was Binah from before her death, when she still possessed the authority of the Head and could use the Singularity technologies of multiple corporations.
A new voice suddenly cut into the channel with A and the department heads: "What!? She... she isn't a real 'Arbiter'... right? If she's the genuine article, you'd better realize how serious breaking a contract is..."
Myu, the leader of the Rabbit Team, dispatched by R Corp to assist with security at Lobotomy Corp, stared in horror at the enemy before her.
Although the Rabbits never feared death, facing an Arbiter from the Head meant death was not the end.
They futilely fired their Lobotomy Corp-issued weapons at the Arbiter, but the special E.G.O. rounds merely created ripples on the barrier in front of her.
Then, half of them were torn to shreds by countless "Faeries," thin threads of what looked like pure light.
Hustling the rest of her team into a nearby elevator, Myu immediately demanded answers from A. "Damn it... This is what you call 'not a real Arbiter'? She's using Singularity tech!"
"She is definitely not real. Have your Rabbits hold the line. My employees are en route to provide support."
This Arbiter was no stranger to A. After all, Garion had single-handedly annihilated their original research team.
Back then, Geburah had taken advantage of the chaos caused by the Abnormalities Garion released, and had seized an opening created by Garion's arrogance. She paid with her life to grievously wound her, allowing Lobotomy Corporation to survive.
But the current Geburah lacked her former power, and A couldn't just release all the Abnormalities. He had no confidence they could defeat this false Arbiter dredged up from the Well.
And while A claimed to have sent all employees to the Architecture Team, one employee had yet to move.
Ye Lan, still with Binah in the R&D department, shouted, "Angela, I need your help!"
"I'm here..."
"I need to talk to Netzach."
As Angela connected him, Ye Lan turned to the real Binah beside him. "You wanted to know my secret, didn't you? I'm about to show you a part of it."
"Oh?" Binah, having lost her body—the basis for all her hobbies—was genuinely intrigued. The authentic but depowered Arbiter even stood up from her seat, watching him intently, as if afraid he might disappear.
Though, the look in her eyes was mostly just excitement for the coming entertainment.
A moment later, Netzach's voice came through. "Ye Lan, you'd better make this quick. The time flow is already approaching double speed. I'm swamped over here."
"The regeneration reactor can heal me as long as I'm still breathing, right?"
"Yes. Wait, what are you planning to do?!"
"Just have a little faith in your star employee. And remember to save my life afterward."
With that, Ye Lan unilaterally cut the connection and said to Angela, "Open the containment units for Punishing Bird, Big Bird, and Judgement Bird..."
Then, before Binah's eyes, the Twilight suit on Ye Lan's body melted away. A pair of black wings covered in sickly yellow eyes struggled to burst from his back. Bloody bandages wrapped around his entire body. A massive gash of a mouth opened vertically down his torso and spoke to Binah:
"This is my first secret. What do you think?"
