Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE

I couldn't remove the feeling that I was being targeted.

How can my coming to Halewoods be Soo bad.

I made all research about Halewoods before moving.

I didn't know whether I should cry or not because I just wanted my mum.

I felt my throat tighten and my eyes glossy and tears threatening to fall.

I glanced up at my room ceiling to hold my tears from falling.

At this point I felt so restless, I couldn't go to sleep because it's still noon and I was a bit scared that the shadow I saw might attack me.

Maybe if I go to the mart, I might see Aaron there and ask him a few questions that I terribly need an answer to at this point.

But what if…

******

Aurora's thoughts were spiraling, she didn't know what to do. What if the shadow finally takes her.

Or maybe she gets attacked.

She didn't even realize that the mark in her wrist was glowing.

*****

I sat on my bed but since the day was still young I made my way to the kitchen to have a little snack.

I had already planned to apply for a suitable job here but after all this that has happened I'd rather look for a job online then maybe after some months I try and find a vacant teaching space outside Halewoods to teach and maybe pack out of this town by then.

I took my homemade popcorn and laid on my couch. My body stretched perfectly on its soft body.

I would have loved today to be lazy like this but I couldn't just let a mere creep threaten me in my own abode. I'm not weak.

I wish.

Flipping on the TV and munching on my popcorn, the cool breeze coming in from my windows made the house so cool as if luring me to sleep, the soft background sound of the TV made it better as I felt my eyes close.

****************

Aurora succumbed to the sweet nap that claimed her peacefully and she wandered into the dreamland.

The dream she was having was really familiar to the one she had last.

She was bathing in a river blooming with beautiful water lilies and lilly of the valley surrounding the river bank and beautiful marigold flowers decorating the river bank with it's rich color.

The river had yellow water lilies in them, the whole place was majestic in nature.

The sounds of rustles behind the bushes around the river was heard but she wasn't afraid as a huge wolf with fierce orange eyes approached her.

She did not freight nor was she startled, instead she motioned the huge midnight black wolf towards her and it obeyed its ears and around the eyes had this blue crimson marks on them.

As the wolf approached the river swimming towards her, its figure started to snap and change form until a really gorgeous man with striking icy eyes stared at her.

At this point both were naked but non minded and instead enjoyed each other's company.

All was good until a misty black shadow covered the clouds making the once shining sky dark, all the lovely flowers died and the shadow was coming towards her.

The man quickly carried her out of the river but with the shadow behind them killing every plants and flowers it passed chasing them both to probably do the same to them.

Unfortunately the shadow got to and dragged them forcefully apart from each other.

Everything was black as the mist was circling her and raising her up in the air but a deep growl was heard resounding everywhere.

Before she knew it the same huge wolf tore the mist with its sharp canine, Aurora could hardly see anything as she fell on the ground but she managed to get a glance a the black figure.

And it was deadly fight between the wolf and the shadowy mist.

She was experiencing pains everywhere in her body and screamed as loud as she could this time and like that everything turned blank like nothing ever happened.

*******

I jolted from my sleep –not again with this dreams.

I really need to meet Aaron again maybe tomorrow.

The movie had already finished this time around and it was a three hours movie because I just needed to rest but sleep had it ways.

Yes..the dream was weird –really weird– but at this point I'm not going to be surprised.

Because I now know that Halewoods already has so many things installed for me.

I checked the time and it was just some minutes past three.

I had nothing else to do but head back upstairs to my room, but not without making a hot cup of chocolate.

I walked to my room balcony to just have a view of Halewoods.

I don't know but viewing the town from here was much better and I felt relaxed.

The sun blessed the town with it's golden sunset glow on the town surface.

This town is really beautiful, I could see some citizens taking a stroll, cars on their way to and fro their business and I from here one could hear the sweet gigglings of children playing on the streets.

It felt magical.

***********

Since Aurora came into this neighborhood she had no visits from neighbors which she somewhat found strange.

She thought maybe it was better, but at the same time she still needed someone to talk to mostly on this event that had happened to her.

She headed back to her room and thought maybe she might take an evening nap.

She just stared at her ceiling because she had been trying so hard to fall asleep but yet it couldn't come yet.

Although the dream she had had caused her to not sleep.

She kept thinking about that dream no matter how and what she did to forget.

Those eyes still haunted her. A striking sharp eyes that only made her think of ice because of how sharp they were.

Every blink her eyes made it was like they were living rent free in her mind and honestly…she wasn't complaining.

Uneasiness drowned her body in a cocoon and chills ran down her spine as she felt like something was closely watching her intensely.

Luckily for Aurora the sun had started to set, which brought much relief to her as she believed that the more sun sets then the moon will gloriously shine which might give her a little comfort to sleep.

************

I picked out a novel from my side table to keep my mind at rest…maybe.

I was already six chapters deep into the story when I heard a distant sound at my backyard.

I quickly rushed to my room window to check –but again…I found nothing.

The sky had darkened, the wind was colder now and the moon was yet to rise.

But then I heard a shuffling sound behind the bushes…and out of sheer curiosity I rushed downstairs and through the kitchen backdoor I found myself in my backyard.

The wire fence was up and the shuffling sound continued.

I reached the fence to take a closer look –at this point my curiosity should be studied…because why would I come out here in the dark with no torch to check for a shuffling sound.

This feeling was too familiar because I was still drawn to the sound.

As I continued to stare…there it was –a figure.

Behind the trees and bushes, I couldn't make out the figure. It felt like the figure felt my presence and paused it's actions and looked my way.

I was instantly speechless and… terrified.

Fierce orange eyes glared at me –same eyes from my eyes.

I still couldn't make out what the creature was –but could see its eyes.

Like the moon knew it's moment to make an entrance, the luna star glowed and its warm light shined on the sky giving me a small sight of the creature's body.

A wolf!

I gasped and like that it vanished like it was never there.
