EXT. HINOKURE – MOUNTAINTOP – NIGHT
The stars glitter. A quiet breeze brushes through the tall grass. Yurei, Maen, and Shin-Ri sit around a small, low fire.
MAEN (quietly):
You never said… how you lost your eyes.
YUREI (soft smile):
Because it wasn't just my sight that was taken.
It was my home… and my voice.
FLASHBACK BEGINS
EXT. VILLAGE OF KAIGAI – YEARS AGO – SUNSET
A peaceful, music-filled village on the edge of a cliff. Wind chimes. Bells. Laughter. Villagers with flutes and string instruments perform while children dance.
Yurei (age 12), with uncovered eyes, plays a soft song on a thin flute. Her parents smile proudly.
YUREI (V.O.):
In Kaigai, music was everything.
It wasn't just sound—it was memory. It was weapon. It was faith.
INT. SHRINE OF THE TONE – NIGHT
A forbidden place. Yurei, curious, sneaks into the old shrine. On a pedestal sits a strange sword: long, curved, and humming faintly even without touch.
Her hand reaches out. The hum grows louder.
YUREI (V.O.):
They called it the Tonal Sword.
It was said to sing the world into shape… or tear it apart.
EXT. KAIGAI VILLAGE – NIGHT (MOMENTS LATER)
A massive black rift tears open in the sky above the village. The Tonal Sword emits a screaming resonance. Villagers panic. Wind and flame swirl.
Yurei, holding the blade, tries to scream for help—but no sound comes out.
A shadow creature forms from the crack—its body made of echo and silence. It screeches, eyes targeting Yurei.
YUREI (V.O.):
I didn't mean to awaken it.
INTENSE SCENE – FIGHTING SHADOW WITH SOUND
The elders try to fight using sonic spells and musical relics, but the shadow tears through them. Yurei's mother grabs her and pushes her away.
MOTHER:
Run! Cover your ears!
The shadow shrieks directly into Yurei's face. The screen goes white. Sound fades out entirely.
BLACK SCREEN – SILENCE – THEN BREATHING
YUREI (V.O.):
When I woke up, I couldn't see.
I couldn't speak.
And the blade… was gone.
BACK TO PRESENT – CAMPFIRE
Yurei removes her hood. Her eyes are still covered by the black cloth. Her face is calm, but her hands tremble slightly.
MAEN (softly):
...You lost your village?
YUREI:
Every building. Every song.
All because I touched a blade that was meant to sleep forever.
SHIN-RI:
But you still fight.
YUREI:
Because the sword is not gone.
It was shattered when the elders sealed the rift.
But the pieces are still singing… and one of them is inside you.
FLASHBACK – THE TONAL BLADE'S FALL
Visuals of the Tonal Sword cracking mid-air, splitting into glowing shards. Each piece flies in a different direction—one falls into the mountains near Shin-Ri's homeland.
YUREI (V.O.):
The sword was said to be created by the first breath of the world.
And like a song, it's never truly silent.
PRESENT – THE FIRE CRACKLES
MAEN (whispering):
So why now? Why are the demons after it again?
YUREI (serious):
Because one who knows its true name… is calling it back.
SHIN-RI:
Daiso?
YUREI:
No.
Worse.
The Voice That Bleeds.
Both Maen and Shin-Ri go quiet.
FINAL SCENE – SHIN-RI ALONE BY THE CLIFF
Later that night, Shin-Ri stands alone. He unsheathes his sword. It hums faintly in the wind. He closes his eyes.
SHIN-RI (V.O.):
If I carry part of the Tonal Sword…
Then maybe I can carry her pain too.
Maybe I can make the world listen.
A soft sound—like a distant chime—echoes from the blade.
