Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: HIS GENESIS

In a small village lived a thousand people. They got reduced after the village was attacked by Bandits. After this incident they stopped the receiving of visitors due to the fear they might be attacked once more.

Every year the villagers would set up fires and candles just to mourn their lost ones.

For 20 years, this villagers has turned their backs not to ever welcome visitors ever again.

The wind blew very cold air that evening, like it was going to rain again or this time worse. As it blew wild into the market square, some traders and buyers decided to leave for the day, perhaps it was already late.

"Alex!" his mother called out to him from a distance. His mother could barely walk on both foot after the attack made on their village years ago. Alex's mom, Mrs. Anne Patrick lost her husband to the Bandits that day. Alex's father was murdered before his very own eyes.

" Alexander, where have you been young man, i have been calling?" as Mrs. Patrick gave him the keys to the barn. " Quickly take the Goats back home, i will be right behind you" as she tries to stand up from her straw chair. " Go, go!" " the rain is coming soon" she said to her son.

Meanwhile, half way home Alex led his late father's goats into the woods to get home when something strange happened.

The goats ran bleating "baaaa" "maa" and scattered around the bush path because of the disturbing atmosphere. There was strange noises like an animal getting ready to hunt on it's prey. Immediately the noise suddenly stopped. Then Alex said as he slowly walked towards to direction the noise was coming from.

"H-H-Hello, anybody there?" he said as he held his staff in fright for defence. " Co- C- Come out now, I'm not scared of you!" He tries to be strong maybe bold even? This time he could barely hold his staff firmly when he heard footsteps coming right from behind him.

"Hello Alexander?" the voice from behind said as the footsteps sound kept increasing towards Alexander. Now Alexander was so frightened that he frozed. Couldn't even make a bold turn to even see who was coming from behind him.

"Scared of a little voice, boy?" as a hand grabbed poor Alexander's arm. "You humans are just so predictable you see?" as the voice whispered closely to Alexander's left ear, now at this point it was as if Alexander could feel a body of something" Turn boy, won't you take a good look at the one that would have you right away for dinner?"

As Alexander now decided to definitely see what was behind him.

Young poor still frightened, Alexander could barely see what was in front of him because it was very late and the moon was boldly out at this time, only what he could see was golden eyes, something at the height of eight feet tall. He could know how tall the creature was because of how high the golden eyes were. The creature came closer and now Alexander could see some part of this beast. It was a troll that spoke and understood English. Beholding this terrifying sight, Alexander dropped his staff in fright.

"Wha-What are you Sire? Poor Alexander said politely as he fixed his frightened eyes unto the golden eyes of this beast.

"Boy i go by many names, some! call me the human hunter, while some people call me the midnight goat"as the beast was pacing slowly with intention around Alexander.

This time he came closer pretending to grab still-frightened Alexander by the neck.

"I would say you are the first human i stayed this long without eating" closing his eyes and smiling, making sounds with it's thick claws

The Troll now came really close to Alexander face. Right now Alexander could perceived an unpleasant smell coming right straight from this troll's mouth

"Hm, it's like i won't be have you for dinner" then Troll laughed loudly moving backwards from Alexander, having his eyes fixed on Alexander again.

"I'm suprised myself i'm not eating you already" rubbing his palm slowly onto Alexander's arm, sinking deeply it's claw into the skin of Alexander. Very deep it sank it's claw, Alexander was now bleeding.

Alexander couldn't scream or even move, frightened of what the human-like creature would just do to him if he provoked the beast.

Distant conversations and torches were headed their path so they both noticed.

Oozing was Alexander's left arm, Alexander was barely alive due to the cut made to his arm was very serious.

Suddenly Alexander slowly closed his eyes, he is now in pain as he watched blood rapidly flowing out of his left arm, Alexander fainted.

Meanwhile the torches were now close enough, the dogs of the travellers started barking at what they sensed, forcefully one of the dogs set itself loose, running towards to that direction.

"Come back here, Ham!" said Ham's owner as the man also ran after his dog, drawing out his sword with a torch at the other hand.

When the Troll noticed they were getting closer it jumped into the woods.

Unconscious Alexander, bathed in his own blood.

"He is still breathing, thank the gods" Ham's owner said as he placed Alexander's head on his lap.

"What could have attacked him" " Could he be from the nearby village?" said one of the travellers.

"Let's take him with us, we can't just leave him here to bleed out to death you know?" as Ham's owner tries to put Alexander on the back of his horse.

Alexander slowly opened his eyes to see what was going on but this time the pain was strong than before.

"Grandpa look he's awake" as the little girl pulled the garment of Ham's owner. The little girl trying to get her Grandfather's attention.

"I am Wilson, what's your name child?" Now everyone gave him attention, gazing at him.

"Uggghhh, A-Alex..." groaning as his arms fell off Wilson's shoulders, then he was placed on the back of Wilson's horse so they all rode away.
