1. Reincarnated
The air was cold, the image of his face was blurry, I couldn't feel anything, except for the sharp pain that was in my heart. I was bleeding, badly, blood on my hands, face, clothes.
I couldn't move, it was all like a bad dream.
He laughed hard and stabbed me again, and again, and again till it all went dark.
I saw death's icy hands, the crooked sythe in the other and dark glowing blue eyes that were getting closer, and closer, and closer, then I heard a voice that said:
"I'll give you power, power to get vengeance on whoever killed you and bring me his soul in place for yours, before the blood moon".
The voice was dark and sinister, I almost couldn't hear what it said.
"Who are you?", I decided to ask.
"I, am, death. I am giving you a chance to avenge your death, If you fail to bring me his soul before the blood moon....you will die again and your soul will be mine".
THEN
A bright light shines on my face that I couldn't see anything.
I heard a lady's voice.
"Doctor-doctor, she's waking up"
I openedy eyes but the bright day light that popped out from the window gave me a cold welcome and I shut them quickly.
"She just opened her eyes"
"That's impossible, she was dead"
"Impossible or a miracle"
The two voices spoke to each other, died?, Who had died?, I asked myself.
I decided to open my eyes and when I did, I saw a young looking nurse who was standing close to a middle aged man who was holding my wrist checking for my pulse.
"Who are you?, And where am i?"
I asked the doctor but he didn't respond, he just kept saying 'it's a miracle, she came back from the dead, this has never happened in our hospital before.
"Hospital?"
Suddenly I heard distant footsteps from the door.
"Here, over here"
A woman 's voice said.
They came in, a man and a woman who I didn't know bit seemed to care for me. She ran straight to me and hugged me kissing my forehead.
" Hannah, are you alright?"
Who is Hannah?, I didn't understand what was going on, it was like I was dreaming.
The man also came close and spoke to me
"How are you my daughter?, We heard you fell from the top of your school, what were you doing there?"
Daughter?, Fell?, School? What is going on I asked myself, am I dreaming?
"Don't stress her, let her rest",the doctor interrupted. "we will do further examinations on her and when we are done, then you can take her"
"We will be outside darling"
They both left sharing a glance at me as they left. Who where they?, I've never seen them in my life.
The doctor and hot nurse performed all sorts of examinations on me that took ages to complete, then they left, I looked at my body, I was different, it felt different.
I was wearing a high school girl's uniform. I looked around, it wasn't like anywhere I've been.
Then I realized I was in some kind of healing place that the doctor called hospital.
I burried my face in my hands out of disappointment and shame, I couldn't remember anything apart from the blurry face of the man that stabbed me and the pain that still lingers a little on my chest.
A nurse came in and spoke to me.
"You are free to go, your parents are waiting for you downstairs, in the hallway, go to them okay?"
I didn't respond, I just stepped out of the room and stood outside looking up in confusion.
"If I was dead and now I'm alive, it means I've been reincarnated"
I suddenly remembered the lines of death itself. I was given another chance to live in exchange for the soul of the man that killed me.
But how would I do that when I don't even know if I have powers and when I don't even know the way to the realm of mages.
I just walked downstairs hopeless, I looked up and saw them. My so called parents. They stood immediately I arrived. I was quickly taken to a big long box with round thingies as legs, four to be precise.
"Get in the car darling"
Car?, It's called a car?, I've never seen anything like this, I entered and so did my parents. Suddenly I heard and felt a vibration under my butt, it was moving, the— car was moving. What a wonderful work.
After a long drive, we got to a big house, it was tall and beautiful, unlike anything in the world. We stepped out and entered the mansion as I was told it was called.
As we entered, I could not stop adoring the inside of the house, it looked like the walls were made of gold, silver and Ruby. It was beautiful, I sat on a chair with a very long table that almost took half the space. Immediately, I was served a bowl of rice and vegetables soup with fat meat that was as big as the head of a dog.
"Eat if you want to regain your strength back Ms Hannah". A man in a black sharply ironed clothe said.
He must have been the servant.
Seeing the food made me remember i was hungry, I took a bite and it tasted nice that i didn't know when I ate it all
When I was done,I saw my so-called parents whispering about something.
They saw me and stopped.
"Hannah darling, why don't you go upstairs, freshen up and take a nap, it's quite late dear",my father said.
I understood those words, but I couldn't understand their behavior. I decided to forget it and go take a nap after I freshen up. I guessed my way around and found a room with the picture of a girl with the same clothes I was wearing and guessed that it was my room.
Everything looked fancy and expensive, I lied down on the bed and
soon after, I was fast asleep.
I woke up the next day, gosh the bed was so comfy, I slept peacefully in all my years, I got up and headed downstairs in my pajamas as they called it. There was no one in sight, I went to each rooms but didn't see anyone, I got confused and went back downstairs shouting mom, dad, anyone?. Then, a cannon of torn ribbons were everywhere, on my body and the floor. Then I heard:
"Happy 18th birthday to you my darling".
Birthday?, 18th?. I was confused at first but later thought of it that it must have been my birthday on this day.
They put on a paper hat and wore one on me too and told me to make a wish, I hesitated for a moment but blew the candle. Nothing happened, as far as I can remember, when I blew a birthday candle, my wish always came true.
Then I was given presents by my mother and father, even the well dressed man that served me earlier gave me a present.
They were nice.
But I was also handed a small letter by my mom, it was an invitation, to The Mage Academy.
As I saw that name, memories flooded my head, it was like millions of ideas coming into ones head.
After the reminiscences, I remembered all I had forgotten except for the one that killed me.
In excitement, I hugged my money and dad and even the well dressed man.
"We thought we should tell you but we decided till you were Eighteen"
I stopped dancing after hearing those words from dad.
"Tell me what?"
"Well, me and your mother and you too,....are mages, and we've decided to take you to the Mage Academy, you must have thought it was a school for elites right?, Well it's not, years ago, your mother and I were students at The Mage Academy, I was an S rank while your mother was an SS rank, she was powerful and so was i, I could never match up to her even when I tried. We fell in love with each other and got married. Now, it's your time to embrace who you are and be the best. You'll be leaving tonight".
Tonight?, That's so soon. I told myself,
"I can't believe these two are mages, is life trying to make a joke out of me or what?, But if they are mages, then that means I can get another chance on being stronger and more powerful to avenge my death".
Hours Later
Time went so fast that the celebration looked like it lasted only for a moment. I was given a school dress although it looked different from the one I was wearing, I went up to my room to change and that was when I realized that my face had changed, I looked exactly like the girl in the poster I saw when I had first entered, I was shocked and also excited because, my killer wouldn't even know that I was back for revenge, that was if I knew who he was.
I put on the clothes and surprisingly, they fit perfectly well.
After all the dressing and stuff, I headed downstairs only to be lead to the basement where I saw a mirror like portal, we headed in and walked through beautiful colours, we appeared in a beautiful and bright garden that had the most awesome flowers. I told myself.
"Welcome back, Hannah"
I decided to keep the name since I was a new person now.
The surrounding was bright although I wondered where the light came from because there was no sun or whatever.
I was led by my parents into a big building that was blue and cream in colour. None of these things seemed new to me except for some things had changed, the cafeteria was now wide and big.
"Hi, Mrs Parker, it's being quite a while since we saw you"
A glamourously dressed fairy said to my mom, it seems like they new each other, they must have been friends judging from the way she greeted my mom. She turned to me.
"You must be the new girl, Hannah Parker"
"Yes mam", I responded with respect.
"So beautiful"
Those words made my cheeks blush so hard I couldn't control it.
"Thank you mam"
"Huh please stop calling me mam, call me Ms. Theresa"
"Of course, I forgot, I knew who she was, one of those that gave me a death sentence"
My respect for her dissapeared in a blink of an eye.
"Don't worry, you will fit perfectly well, Mrs. Parker, Mr. Parker, you have nothing to be worried about, we will take good care of her"
In my Mind:
"Oh, like you did to me before, I promise, I'll get you that gave me he death sentence and I'll destroy those that also enjoyed the way I died"
"We trust you Ms. Theresa, we trust she is in safe hands. Okay Hannah, we will be back, and when we are back, you must tell us your rank okay?"
"I totally forgot about the rank assessment, I wonder what my rank will be this time, I was an A rank, maybe I'll be an S Rank this time"
"Hannah?, Did you hear me?"
"Oh, yes dad, I'll tell you when you both are back".
They left waving at me while I just looked at them.
"Come on Hannah, let's in, you must settle down before your ranl assessment"
I looked at her with disdain as she went, but I had to pretend and follow.
I was shown around although I already knew where each and everyone/thing belonged.
The only thing I didn't know was my room, I was assigned a new room, it was cozy and comfortable, beautiful on the inside, no one was inside but there were names on the bed, it was decorated with Bink and blue, with four big beds, I saw my name on a bed which was far from the door and on top of another bed since it was a bunk bed.
"Alright, rest as much as you can because in three hours, you'll be called for your assessment", she told me and left with the door opened.
I lied down and had the strangest dream,
"Where am I?"
The place was empty, void and dark with purple wind like things moving here and there
Then I saw him again, death—and it spoke to me:
"This is just the beginning, you must find your killer before the arrival of the blue moon or you will die".
"What?, I'll die?"
He came closer to me and just as I was about to walk back, I couldn't move as much as I wanted to, I couldn't.
He placed his icy hand on me, it felt strangely cold, suddenly, I felt immense power going through my body, it was more than I could handle bit it kept entering, until he removed his hand and said:
"The system—will guide you"
That was all I heard, by the time I opened my eyes, he was gone.
