"What will you do now?" Otaru asked his question, slicing through the chaos that had become of his best friend. She had tried to fight against him, but he had held on, tighter, like this wasn't his first ride with her.
She was stronger than he on all accounts, and yet she had let him close. She had not pushed him away when the truth hung between them, unspoken and bridled with the weight of a present that would forever haunt both of them.
It was not just about the horror of what the good doctor had done, it was about the pain that Sakura didn't know was very possible. And to her, that was betrayal of the highest order.
She had loved and lost.
She had been ruined because of a love that she thought she could spend the rest of her life protecting.
Now, all that she had… was nothing.
