Chapter 83 - Ch 82 - He's Adopted

Even Hela could not help but smirk. "Oh, this title alone is already promising."

Odin sighed deeply, rubbing his temple. He already felt a headache forming.

The screen lit up, and a scene appeared.

[On the SHIELD Helicarrier

Loki, handcuffed in gleaming shackles, walked through the halls of the SHIELD ship as if he were on a leisurely stroll through the palace gardens.

His posture was elegant, relaxed—unbothered. It was as though he had allowed himself to be captured, a mere inconvenience rather than a defeat.

As he passed by Banner's lab, he shot the doctor a slow, eerie smile.

It seemed that he had other intentions.

Loki finally arrived at his destination.

The cold wind howled through the prison, a ghostly wail echoing off the steel walls. The air was thick with an eerie stillness, broken only by the distant hum of machinery.

Outside the reinforced glass of his cell, Nick Fury stood with his usual stoic expression, eyeing the prisoner with a mix of caution and contempt.

Nick Fury: "Let me make this clear—one wrong move, and you'll be dropping nine thousand meters in this cage. Understand?"

Loki tilted his head, amusement flickering across his face. Then, he laughed—a cold, condescending chuckle that carried no real mirth.

Loki: "Oh… You speak as if I'm the one who's trapped."

His words dripped with disdain, his piercing gaze making it seem as though it was Fury, not him, behind bars. With a smirk, Loki spread his arms in mock surrender, stepping closer to the glass.

Loki: "This prison… It wasn't built for the likes of me, was it?"

Fury remained impassive.

Nick Fury: "No. It was designed for something far more dangerous."

At that, Loki turned his head slightly, his sharp eyes catching the flicker of a monitor displaying a familiar figure—a man, but something more.

Loki: "Ah, yes… The infamous beast."

His voice was smooth, laced with mischief. He took a step back, pretending to ponder before letting a sly grin cross his lips.

Loki: "A raging monster… masquerading as a man."

His words hung in the air like a poisoned blade, meant to sow discord. But Fury didn't bite.

Loki: "Tell me… how desperate must you be to let such a creature stand as your protector?"

Fury met Loki's gaze without a flinch, his silence saying more than any words could. But Loki could see it—that flicker of calculation in the director's single eye.

And that was enough to amuse him.

Asgard

The entire hall of Asgard fell into silence once again.

Hela chuckled darkly. "Oh, he's good."

Frigga sighed, massaging her forehead. "This is getting worse."

Thor clenched his fists. "Loki, why must you always play with fire?"

Seph remained calm, arms crossed, analyzing. "He's testing them."

On the screen...

[The Avengers gathered in another room and watched through surveillance.

Dr. Banner: "This guy is really long-winded."

Captain America: "I think he did it on purpose."

Thor: "He has an army under him, called the Chitauri. They are not from the God Realm and do not belong to any planet. Loki plans to lead them to attack the Earth, and they will definitely help him. I think the condition is the Cosmic Cube."]

Asgard

At this, Odin's eye twitched.

"Chitauri?!" Odin's voice boomed. The entire throne room trembled slightly.

Thor stiffened. Hela raised an eyebrow. Frigga's expression darkened.

Seph, however, narrowed his eyes, his voice low. "The Chitauri wouldn't ally with just anyone."

Odin's grip on Gungnir tightened. "Loki, you fool. Do you even understand what you're dealing with?"

Loki, watching the screen, waved a hand. "Oh, come now, Father. Give me some credit. Clearly, I had a plan."

Seph scoffed. "A plan? Or were you just a pawn?"

Loki's smirk faltered for half a second.

[Inside the Helicarrier Meeting Room

The Avengers discussed Loki's behavior.

Dr. Banner: "This guy is really long-winded."

Captain America: "I don't understand why Loki surrendered. How can he command the army here?"

Dr. Banner: "I don't think we should focus on Loki. This guy's thoughts are hard to figure out. To me, he's a lunatic."

Thor's patience snapped. His voice rumbled.

Thor: "You'd better be careful with your words. Loki is indeed unreasonable, but he is from the God Realm, and we are brothers."]

At this moment in Asgard

Loki, watching the screen, stiffened.

Something inside him twisted.

Thor... still called him his brother?

Even after everything?

For a brief moment, Loki forgot to smirk.

Hela, arms crossed, rolled her eyes. "Sentimental fool."

Frigga, however, smiled softly. "Thor… always had a big heart."

Seph simply observed with a smile.

And then, on the screen.

[Black Widow: "He killed eighty people in two days."

Thor immediately backpedaled.

Thor: "Don't look at me, we are cousins, he was even adopted."]

----

Asgard

A bomb could have gone off, and the reaction wouldn't have been as explosive as what followed.

The entire room froze.

Loki's soul left his body.

Seph laughed. "He just...?"

Hela burst out laughing. "Oh, now this is GOLD!"

Frigga gasped in horror, placing a hand over her heart. "Thor!"

Odin looked at Thor like he had grown a second head. "I raised you better than this."

Thor, sitting beside Loki, felt every inch of his dignity shatter. He paled, staring at the screen, at his future self, at the words that had just left his mouth.

"NO. NO. I DID NOT JUST SAY THAT. OH, NORN HELP ME."

Loki, very, very slowly, turned to look at Thor.

His eyes burned with pure betrayal.

Thor swallowed.

Hard.

Loki's voice was soft. Too soft. "Brother…?"

Thor panicked. "Loki, wait, I didn't mean—"

"AFTER EVERYTHING?!" Loki stood up, his magic crackling violently. "AFTER ALL THAT DRAMATIC DEFENSE? 'HE IS MY BROTHER, HE IS FROM THE GOD REALM!'"

Loki pointed at the screen. "AND THEN—THEN—YOU THROW ME TO THE WOLVES IN LITERALLY ONE SECOND?!"

Thor opened his mouth. Closed it. Opened it again.

No words came out.

Seph chuckled, shaking his head. "That was fast."

Hela was crying from laughter. "Oh, I take back every insult I ever said about Thor. This is priceless."

Frigga sighed. "Thor, you really must think before you speak."

Odin massaged his temples. "This family is doomed."

Loki continued his rant. "COUSINS?! ADOPTED?! REALLY, THOR?!"

Thor groaned, burying his face in his hands. "I HAVE FAILED AS A BROTHER."

Seph smirked, watching the scene with great amusement. "This is better than I expected."
