Moody's class was quite instructive, as it gave us a better understanding of the true power of evil.
The only issue is that if he gives the same presentation to the younger years, they might end up traumatized.
While I was thinking about this, there was a commotion near the entrance to the Great Hall.
Everyone's attention was focused on a ferret that was being harshly tossed around by a levitation charm.
"I hate cowards who attack from behind. It's lazy and dishonorable," someone growled.
Professor McGonagall arrived in a rush.
"What is going on here?"
"I'm teaching," Moody replied.
The ferret was apparently a student.
"Is that a student?" she asked.
"Well, it was a ferret."
Professor McGonagall waved her wand and reversed the transformation, revealing that the ferret had actually been Malfoy.
After giving Moody a brief scolding, Malfoy threatened to tell his father.
It's really stupid to provoke someone like Moody
As I walked to the table, I found Hermione, and she told me about the situation.
Apparently, as usual, Malfoy couldn't keep his mouth shut whenever something involved the Weasleys, and Harry snapped back by saying something about the wickedness of Malfoy's mother. That provoked Malfoy, who then tried to attack him from behind.
"What did he expect after provoking someone? Does he even have a brain?"
That might be an interesting question to ask, but I was more focused on the article.
It mainly talked about an incident that took place yesterday morning in Moody's garden. Apparently, his paranoia was the cause of the entire event.
The Weasley family was mentioned because Arthur had tried to protect Moody by keeping the incident under wraps — but somehow, Rita still managed to uncover the information.
I should probably ask someone to investigate how she keeps getting access to this kind of confidential information.
After a rather noisy dinner — since Malfoy had become the topic of conversation and also the target of mockery — it was time to attend Hagrid's class.
Since I had helped him create the class schedule, many students were interested in the subject.
Hagrid was all smiles and asked if we could talk later.
"Today, we're going to start the year strong by going into the Forbidden Forest."
Many faces turned pale, but Hagrid reassured them that nothing would threaten them as long as he was there. Besides, we wouldn't be going too deep into the forest, so the risks were much lower.
Today's lesson was about Thestrals. Even though most students couldn't see them, at least they could watch the meat disappear as if by magic.
Even if I didn't really learn anything new, most of the students knew nothing about them and were fascinated by these creatures.
The students left while I stayed behind to talk to Hagrid.
"Actually, I managed to get some Blast-Ended Skrewts, and I thought they'd make a good project."
He showed me a whole crate full of creatures — quite ugly ones, in fact. Even the Thestrals, with their skeletal appearance, looked beautiful in comparison.
"Why not, but I'd like to know which year you plan to assign them to."
"I was thinking of Harry's year."
"Are they at least safe?"
Hagrid didn't know what to say, clearly showing he didn't know much about them.
"If you at least had enough knowledge about these creatures, maybe. But in this case, you should assign them to the seventh years, or sixth at the very least. They're definitely not creatures to be taken lightly. Learning about them through practice is too much for fourth-year students — especially considering the troublemakers in that year."
Even though I was thinking of Malfoy and his clique, I also had Harry and Ron in mind.
