Chapter 160 - Stop the harasement

While walking through the common room, I saw three girls acting absolutely not suspicious around something.

"Are you sure it's her bag?"

"Who else would carry something like that? If it were my bag, I'd burn it right in front of me."

As I approached discreetly, I immediately saw that it was Luna's bag.

"Do you think the ink bottles are enough?"

"No, let's take her homework too — she'll eventually understand that we don't want her here."

"I suggest you put her things back in her bag. Immediately."

They all jumped and turned toward me in fear.

"It's not at all what you think, Evelyn."

"Yes, Luna asked us to bring her school stuff."

"You wanted to return them? That's very kind — but why do it now?"

From their eyes, I could tell they thought I was falling for their excuse.

"Well, she asked us. We hesitated a bit because we weren't sure it was her bag, but when we looked inside, we saw that it was hers."

I could very well recognize a Ravenclaw spirit in them — it might have convinced me, if not for one compromising detail.

"And when exactly did she say that? Because I don't remember seeing you while I was with her — from the moment she left her things here until I walked her back into the common room. Of course, it's possible she talked to you after I left her, but that would have had to be right after I did. And besides, you're not fast enough to run up here without being out of breath — yet you arrived long before I did."

Their faces turned pale — their lie had been discovered.

"Don't think I don't know you were trying to take Luna's things to hide them or do something else. Maybe she doesn't react, but what you're doing could be considered a serious offense. For the trouble, I'm taking 10 points from Ravenclaw. And if this happens again, you'll be spending a week in detention."

Even if they were in the same house as me, this was still harassment — and it's better to punish them than to turn a blind eye.

Before, because I didn't have enough authority, I asked Helena to keep an eye on Luna and make sure no one harassed her. But in the end, she couldn't stay with her forever, and some people took advantage of that to steal Luna's things.

"Why are you defending her? She's not normal."

"She just talks nonsense and says weird things. What was it again? Nargles? Those don't exist."

"A little question for you: what exactly has she done to you? Because I don't recall Luna being the type to attack others like that. Maybe she's not like us, but let me remind you — she's still your dorm mate. And even if there's serious doubt about the creatures Luna mentions, remember this: Muggle-borns didn't believe in magic either — and yet it exists. So why shouldn't those creatures exist too? Because we've never seen one? You're Ravenclaws — you're supposed to be intelligent and curious, to do research. And yet you're acting more like typical Slytherins."
