"It's been what? Three days? When exactly do you plan on letting me out of here?" Ares asked Alexei who brought him his dinner.
"Three days in which I've talked, and you haven't listened. What would it take for me to get through to you?" Alexei asked, that deep sadness appearing in his eyes again.
"You know what? I'll indulge you. Why did you marry my mother when you knew you didn't love her?" He folded his hands, and leaned against the wall.
"Are we really going to talk?" The sadness disappeared, as a glimmer of hope appeared.
"Why don't you answer my question first?"
"Who says I didn't love your mother, Ares? I did at that time," he said.
Ares chuckled, and shook his head in disbelief. "You married my mother because you loved her? What then did you feel for Isabella?"
"Love too. More passionately, and more intensely. Obsession in the unhealthiest way. Desire- desperate one. Your mother was my first love. Isabella was my last," he explained without mincing words.
