"Madam Gao, isn't it?"
When Madam Gao heard her name, she immediately became cautious. Her face darkened as she looked at Morgana and Sofia with murderous intent.
"I don't know who you are, but you won't leave here alive."
"Kill them!" Madam Gao shouted, pointing at Morgana and Sofia. From the shadows around them, ninjas jumped out, attacking.
Morgana smirked as she slowly walked toward the group of ninjas in front of her.
"Sofia, step aside. Leave this to me."
"But..."
"It's okay, Sofia."
Sofia sighed quietly when she saw the excited Morgana, who had turned into a true battle maniac. She quietly retreated and hid in Morgana's shadow, leaving her to face the group of ninjas alone.
Morgana crouched down, grabbed one ninja by the leg, and swung him in a circle, throwing away the others who approached her, breaking their formation.
Then she lightly threw him toward the group on the right. The ninjas tried to catch their comrade, but when they came into contact with his body, they felt the impact of a truck's force, which threw them far away.
Morgana took a few steps and reached one ninja. Like a spear, she drove her hand, wrapped in Chi energy, through his chest, ripping out his heart.
With her left hand, she grabbed the dagger from his hand and swung it toward the ninja approaching her from the left side, quickly slashing his throat.
At the same moment, she kicked the ninja who had quietly snuck up from behind, destroying his internal organs using Chi energy.
She pulled her right hand out of the dead ninja's body, then grabbed a katana from beneath her feet, placed it on her shoulder, and looked around, the group of ninjas was now reduced to a quarter of their original number.
"Shall we continue?" Morgana asked with a wide smile on her bloodied face, her eyes radiating battle energy. The ninjas stood like dolls around her, ready to attack at any moment.
When they attacked again, unlike the previous time, this time they threw shurikens. Morgana noticed the change in tactic, smiled quietly, and then released Chi energy in the form of a shockwave that repelled all the shurikens.
As the battle went on, a mountain of corpses slowly formed around Morgana, while the room filled with the heavy scent of blood.
Morgana snapped the neck of one ninja, let him fall like a sack, then grabbed the katana sticking out from the head of another dead ninja and swung it at the last ninja who was kneeling, cutting off his head.
She threw the bloody katana, observing the room now covered in blood on all sides, with a pile of bodies in the center.
"Oh, she ran away," Morgana said, no longer seeing Madam Gao.
"Yes, she disappeared quietly during your fight," Sofia appeared beside Morgana, who was now bloodied from head to toe. However, instead of red, the blood was an unusual black or dark red color.
"I suppose this was too much for one old woman," Morgana said as she used molecular manipulation to remove all the blood from her body, leaving it clean as before the fight. Only the heavy scent of blood still filled the room.
Morgana noticed her shallow wounds slowly healing.
Just as she was about to leave, she noticed the ninjas' bodies slowly disintegrating, and the blood on the floor evaporating. Soon, even the scent of blood disappeared.
Within seconds, the room was empty, as if the battle had never even happened. The only traces were the weapon cuts on the floor and the dents Morgana had made with her heavy strikes.
"Well, this is new..." Morgana muttered, watching as everything vanished. Sofia beside her nodded, absorbed in the strange situation.
In the distance, police sirens could be heard approaching the factory.
"Looks like it's time to run," Morgana laughed, as Sofia looked at her from the side and wrapped them in shadow, vanishing from the room as if they had never been there.
Half a minute later, a figure in a red suit entered the factory. Only the lower part of his face was visible, while he wore something resembling horns on his head.
"What happened here?" the figure muttered, observing various cuts and dents in the floor, traces of a fierce battle, even though no one was there anymore.
Not far from the factory, through the abandoned streets, the figure of Madam Gao was running, barely managing to escape.
"What a monster…" she breathed heavily, muttering through her teeth as she stopped and looked back toward the factory. At that moment, she felt an enormous surge of Chi energy like nothing she had ever experienced in her life.
She clenched her fists, her face frowning. Out of the hundred to two hundred lower-ranked ninjas she had brought with her, not a single one survived.
Meanwhile, Sofia and Morgana had returned to the villa. Sofia went to the kitchen while Morgana went to take a bath and change.
"Only one-tenth of Chi consumed…" Morgana murmured, clenching her fists. She could feel the Qi flowing through her body, while a large amount of Chi energy was concentrated at her core, like a lake.
She closed her eyes and performed a basic tai-chi movement she had learned during her time in China.
"Tsk… problematic," she quietly commented with a frown. She was trying to speed up the recovery of the spent Chi, but due to the pollution in the air, the amount and quality of Chi energy were extremely low. Because of that, it would take her half a day to fully recover using tai-chi techniques. Without them, it would take almost two days for her body to restore the spent energy.
The reason for this was that the total amount of her Chi was like a vast lake, while the quality of the energy itself was extremely high. If she hadn't taken the serum, she would've recovered her Chi very quickly before, but now that was no longer possible. Unless some miracle happened and the polluted air on Earth got cleansed, or if she found a place with less pollution.
"Now I understand why the master and the other elders rarely leave Kunlun," Morgana sighed as she exited the bathroom dressed in pajamas. When she came out, she smelled a fragrant aroma coming from the kitchen. When she entered, she saw Sofia preparing dinner.
Sofia noticed Morgana at the entrance and said, "Go sit in the living room, it'll be done soon."
Morgana nodded and calmly went to the living room, leaving Sofia to cook while she started flipping through the TV channels.
