Chapter 310 - On the Altar

The first thing that burst into Rope's sight was an altar.

The next as eye was the overall appearance of the temple.

There was basically no difference from anything else in this cave, it was all the same ancient atmosphere.

The overall layout of the altar looked to be a smaller version of the lake island above. The same beads and statues.

The humanoid statue caught Rope's attention at first. Only Rope didn't put his attention on the statue.

He slowly stepped forward, small glowing white fireballs quickly emerging one after another from his spread palm, looking like some kind of pixie.

It was just a shame... these Pokemon were not a sight to see.Rope was able to make these Pokemon take the life of a person or a Pokémon with ease.

Rope now wondered just how strong he really was. According to the Law of Power Seeds, the strongest person under him right now is Mewtwo, so he should be stronger than Mewtwo. Being stronger than Mewtwo would also mean that a large number of gods, including Groudon, would be no match for him.

That's why he was now becoming less and less interested in the priesthood that Arceus had arranged for him. He could always keep guarding this world. But being trapped and locked in this world because he had absorbed the Laws was not what he wanted.

Rope walked over to the altar and looked closer at the seemingly insignificant pillars.

Hoopa and Rotom were puzzled, but Rope was already there and all they could do was follow.

"Rope, what are you..."

Hoopa looked at the reliefs on the stone pillars, a picture of the miracles of Arceus. From the so-called birth of the world, to the final end of the meteorite.

Whether or not the birth of the world was due to Arceus Hoopa didn't know. Although he preferred not to...after all, although Arceus was powerful, he wasn't invincible. But the Terminal Meteorite was indeed his doing, this Hoopa didn't live to tell.

Looking at the bas-relief on the altar, you say Hoopa's heart does not count that is bullshit...who does not want to be sung praises! Even Mew had his own temple and worshippers, of course the childish Hoopa would want to be treated like this.

But it was also because of his childish nature, and it was an extremely bad childish nature...so he had never had any worshippers, and all he had was those not-so-good legends.

Looking at this rough and atmospheric bas-relief in front of him, how can you say that there isn't something a little bit wrong in Hoopa's heart?

Especially when he saw a certain pillar, his whole magic was silly...

Rope also feel wrong...not and Hoopa the same acid, he simply do not care about these things. professor Oak gave him the title of the legend of the people, but he simply do not want to become a legend.

He just thought there was something wrong with these reliefs up there.

"Drip, preliminary scanning of the contents of all the reliefs is complete, basically confirming that the contents of these reliefs are accurate, Rotom!" Rotom flew along the entire altar and then took pictures as well. After comparing it with his own database, he also came to this conclusion.

Rope's frown deepened... and then he saw Hoopa moving silently towards one of the pillars.

After noticing that he saw him, he immediately flew towards that bead.

Rope noticed that Hoopa's hands were wrapped in a layer of purple-black energy on the sea, and it looked like the bastard was set on destroying that stone pillar.

Rope's face sank, his fingers moved, and the small white ball illuminating in the sky quickly blocked in front of Hoopa with lightning speed.Although Hoopa was surprised by Rope, Hoopa's combat experience was not something to be reckoned with. The circle on his body lit up.Hoopa went through the circle and immediately came to the front of the pillar.

Then he raised his hand high.

"Snap!"

His hand was firmly clutched by Rope...

Hoopa stiffened and looked back at Rope, his neck twisting with a snap, like an unoiled clockwork.

And when Hoopa turned his head completely, he saw Rope's gloomy face.

"Chan..."

"What are you doing?"

Rope of course knew that Hoopa should be on his side. But he couldn't trust anyone completely after all...

Here were important clues. Still, he couldn't even be sure of Arceus's enemy right now... knowing that Arceus seemed to be... the victim in every situation right now...

Hoopa, looking at Rope's face and realizing that his actions probably really pissed Rope off this time, could only point at the stone pillar close by and say, "The relief on this one isn't very nice...I'd like to take it down..."

Not very nice?

Rope frowned more and more tightly, then looked up...

Above that bas-relief...was the scene where Arceus sealed Hoopa.

On the relief, Hoopa, whose image was obviously demonized and exaggerated, was sealed by Arceus, whose body was glittering with light.

Rope had seen this story in anime before, so it didn't feel strange.

After realizing that Hoopa was trying to ruin his embarrassing story, Rope let go of Hoopa's hand and said without any good humor, "Are you childish or not, can you be more mature?"

Hoopa rolled his eyes and beamed before muttering in a low voice, "If it wasn't that dead alpaca sneaking up on me, I wouldn't have lost... well at least not to the point where I didn't have the power to fight back at all..."

Rope was also dumbfounded... this guy was really something...

Wait a minute!

Rope stared carefully at the relief in front of him as if he had suddenly caught something.

Then with a face of surprise, he looked at the statue in the center again.

"I know what the problem is!"

Rope exclaimed happily.

His sudden noise startled Rotom and Hoopa. Before they could I ask what was going on, Rope spoke up first, "Rotom, compare all the images of Arceus on the bas-reliefs and find out if any of them are different."

Rotom froze for a moment, then began his search. A few moments later, Rotom's screen displayed a picture of the relief.

"It's on that pillar behind the statue, Lotor!"

Rotom spoke up. The meaning excitement could be heard in his voice as well.

Rope didn't drag his feet and went straight towards the stone pillar. As expected, the relief image on that stone pillar was a humanoid Arceus.

The humanoid Arceus was high up in the sky, holding many weapons in his hands, high above the ground, also artificially enlarged. And below is the shrunken humanoid. Humans were prostrate at the feet of Arceus, worshipping. And there were eighteen humans standing beside Arceus with their hands raised in the air, as if they were praying for Arceus' blessing.

Rope counted carefully, there were about eighteen of them...

There happened to be eighteen attributes... was this really a coincidence?

And as Rope took a closer look at the standing villains, he suddenly realized that the costume on one of them looked familiar. One of them had a rock-like symbol on it...

Rope pondered this for a moment, failing to immediately pull the relevant memory from his mind, suggesting that it wasn't originally something worth memorizing extra in Rope's mind.

Rope shook his head and proceeded to walk over to the statue. This statue was basically no different than the large statue outside. Only much smaller.

The statue here looks more like what a person would look like at their normal height.

Rope scrutinized the statue, but unfortunately still had no clue.

Shaking his head, he pulled out the appropriate offering from his backpack that the village elder had prepared for him.

It was pretty far fetched really, just simple dirt, water and a tree fruit.

The dirt was dug at the entrance of the village, the water was from the village well, and the fruit was grown by the village itself.Rope wasn't a fool, of course he could tell that the biggest problem with these seemingly mundane things would be that they were all just things from the village.

Once Rope had set the things up, he began to chant a prayer.

"Great Arceus, your light shines throughout the world.

Noble Arceus, your justice connects the ages.

Holy Arceus, Thy goodness lives and dies.

Most high, most great, most holy Arceus, every corner of this world glorifies Your name.

We implore Your gaze, we implore Your forgiveness, we implore Your refuge.

We will walk through the world with Your glory.

Your believers, thirst for Your grace!"

Rope read this passage with arguably no respect at all. There was only impatience and disdain in his tone.

And after listening to his prayer, the statue actually began to well up with a brownish glow, then turned into little particles of light that flew towards the top and didn't go into the wall.

Rope wasn't sure if they flew off into the bodies of the villagers. He was still a bit disappointed now.

After all, this statue in front of him didn't have the slightest intention of punishing him for his disrespect...

While Rotom looked speechless, Hoopa was rather excited, he really kinda wanted to see someone who didn't have any respect for Arceus at all.

After all he himself had very little respect for Arceus.

"Rope can you read it again? I still want to hear it!"

Hoopa shouted happily.

Rope gave him a blank stare before clasping his hands to his chest and frowning at the statue in front of him.

"What do you guys think is going on with all that energy?"

Rope asked as he opened his mouth in confusion. Although he dry prayed in front of Arceus' statue in a screwed up tone. But if he really wanted to tear down his statue...this Rope was really weighing it...

Hoopa, after hearing this relatively serious question, silently shook his head and said, "I just feel that these energies seem to be similar to the energies contained in Plate. But you've seen Plate before. If you're saying it's the same source as Plate... Plate is the power of the Origin..."

Hoopa thought carefully about this. Then he fell into the same confusion.

Rotom looked at the distressed Hoopa and was about to open his mouth to comfort him, but his afterglow unintentionally swept the expression on Rope's face...

He didn't see Rope's confusion...just Rope's gravity...

What is it? What could make Rope look so grave?

And what was it that Rope felt she couldn't tell them?

Rotom was curious, but knew he couldn't ask... what Rope could say, he said, there was no need to fool this Hoopa guy a little, and the only reason not to say anything was... it would be best if Rope was the only one who knew about this.

Curious though he was, Rotom went to comfort Hoopa.

Rope certainly isn't confused. All of his confused looks right now are faked...

Motherfucker...that power is the energy of the Power Seed...

KAM! Arceus...has a Power Seed?

No! Arceus' Plate had seen it himself, and there was still a big difference between it and the Power Seed.

Why would Hoopa recognize the power of a Power Seed?

He frowned and placed a small fireball in front of Hoopa.

The burning sensation startled Hoopa, and he looked at Rope in no uncertain terms, "Rope! I didn't do anything bad!"

Rope was a bit speechless for a moment... combined with the fact that you knew you would be cleaned up if you did something bad before, but you still couldn't help but make something out of it?

"I just want to ask you, can you tell what my energy is from?"

"What else could it be? It's just a normal flame...Your flame is special in every way, but its essence is a flame, you don't think yours is an origin flame, do you? Not even close.Ho-Oh's are not even close to the Origin Flame..."

Hoopa looked at Rope with a look of contempt, like he was looking at a whimsical fellow.

The Origin was such a precious thing, only one in a world...Rope was still thinking of taking the Origin Flame for himself?

emmmm...seriously it's not impossible...

"Rope," Hoopa flew to Rope's side and patted him on the shoulder, "If you really want to upgrade your flame, you can put the Flame Plate on your side and absorb more Origin Energy so that you can change the nature of your flame. "

He said with a regretful face, "Unfortunately, even if that's the case, your flame isn't changing from its essence to begin with. But there is only one copy of the Origin Flame. It was also made into Plate by Arceus. either you keep Plate for yourself forever. Or you'll never be the Origin Flame forever."

Rope looked at Hoopa who was giving himself bad ideas, then pressed his head and pushed him away, "Don't you use this method to bullshit with me, I am not interested in the Origin Flame or anything at all.Arceus may not be interested in this so-called Origin either."

This was also true, Arceus' kind of nature that could casually hand Plate over to someone else for safekeeping... I believe that if this world didn't need Arceus' doppelgangers to maintain the basic order, he would still lend Plate to those who were gods, or even those who weren't gods, to sense the power of this world's origin.

He wouldn't normally use it anyway.

But the current Rope didn't have the heart to think about such things at that time. After all, he had just identified the power essence of his power seed as something Hoopa hadn't seen before. It was even treated as a normal flame.

But then he looked at Arceus' power seed and said that it was the power of the Origin...wasn't that just spacing out this bullshit?

Rope felt like he'd obviously primed this Arceus guy to be an outsider just like himself. This was a major mystery solved. However, the various problems in front of him were getting bigger and bigger...

The solution to one problem often led to more problems.

Those who didn't matter were fine, but a Pokémon like Arceus, any secret could be related to the nature of this world...

Still, Rope felt invigorated. Just kidding, he was here to save the world, if he couldn't even find an answer to what was going on in this world, then he would be truly incompetent...

Year wasn't a fool, and the fact that he had chosen Rope meant that Rope must have the ability...

If you insist on saying what to do if you don't have it...cool, what does Rope's death have to do with Year?

We all signed a contract. Year isn't a rogue who buys and sells. He's a businessman. A businessman does what you want.

You're the one who got screwed, so don't blame others.

Good thing Rope isn't an incompetent person. With a series of help, he had also found out the horse's footsteps of the person behind the curtain and the nature of this world.

He shook his head. Then rolled up his sleeves and proceeded to head over towards the statue that had the eyes in front of him.

Rotom and Hoopa looked frozen for a moment, then looked at Rope with a shocked expression.

"Drip, drip, drip, drip... can't understand! Can't understand!"

"Holy shit Rope, calm down! A dead alpaca is not guilty!"

Hoopa hurriedly flew to Rope's side, then tightly tugged on his sleeve before pulling Rope back desperately.

If other people didn't know, could Hoopa not know that Arceus wasn't a generous person in terms of resources and stuff, even borrowing Plate. But if someone really messes with him, he can write you up in his little book for a million years...

Generosity and pettiness, greatness and selfishness, gentleness and crankiness all the contradictory points seem to be perfectly represented in Arceus.

In fact, not only Arceus, everyone is multi-faceted. You can't really understand a person by only seeing one side of them.

"Rope you calm down first! Nothing is non-negotiable. Aren't you looking for Arceus' essence? I know! I know some clues!"

Rope's footsteps lurched, then he looked at Hoopa with a puzzled expression...

"You, have a clue?"

Hoopa let out a deep sigh, then said, "I have some clues..."

"Expand on that."

Rope stopped and looked at Hoopa and asked.

"I assume you've heard of Azure Flute?"

Hoopa spoke. It was a question, but in an affirmative tone.

Rope nodded. Of course he knew about this thing. In the original world's game, this thing only existed in the legends as well...

To say it was outrageous was to say it was outrageous.

"The Initial Between of Arceus is not a fixed location as you might think. The Initial Between exists as something like a ship. And Azure Flute is like a lighthouse between initials. If you blow the Azure Flute, you can summon the initial between."

Hoopa rushed on.

"Tell me something I don't know..."

Rope waved his hand with some impatience.Hoopa choked...and thought, "Motherfucker, which one of us is a god? You knew about this? If it wasn't for the fact that I had a run-in with Arceus and tried to steal from his house, I wouldn't even know about this, okay..."

But since Rope said he knew these things, Hoopa couldn't use them as leverage to get Rope to give up his current crazy behavior.

"I have a lead on Azure Flute as well, the thing is rumored to be in the middle of a certain shrine in the northern part of the Sinnoh region. Not the temple of the Holy Pillar King, of course. Rather, it's another, more deeply hidden shrine."

"How do you know that?" Rope asked in a puzzled voice.

Hoopa touched his nose and didn't say anything.

He just knew anyway, what else do you want?

Rope frowned but didn't ask anything.

He looked at Hoopa and said seriously, "This information you gave is valuable, I'll count this knowingly not reporting thing simmering with you afterward!"

Then he turned around and was going over towards the statue again.

Hoopa's nose went askew.

"Rope you asshole why don't you listen to reason!"

Hoopa flew to Rope's side and then turned into Liberated Hoopa with six big claws holding Rope's arms in a death grip. But in the next moment, Rope turned into flames to avoid Hoopa's bindings, then impatiently said, "There's no time to bullshit with you. I'll take care of this statue first."

Hoopa held his head slightly high with a look of exasperation, but a little later there was a look of helplessness...

Good words don't persuade the damn ghost...

Rope can die if he wants to, it's just the statue anyway, Arceus won't necessarily finish him off yet. Moreover, if he really wants to fight with Arceus, he should be a dog for Rope. In that case, he, Mewtwo, Rope and the other Pokémon can probably fight with Arceus.

With a hard heart, Hoopa also decided that the big deal was to have a big battle with Arceus. What's so scary about that!

With a pained look in his eyes, Rope held onto the statue with both hands and let out a low roar...

The entire statue was pulled out of the ground by Rope like a turnip...

————————————

Brown particles of light fell like raindrops from high above. But not a single drop of this rain fell on every single villager.

Eiichi watched the brown particles of light fall on his body, and then instantly felt a lightness in his body. Like some kind of shackle had been broken. Turning his head to look around, he realized that he wasn't the only one, every villager had a relaxed look on their face.

"The curse...lifted?"

"We... can go out?"

The villagers discussed amongst themselves before quickly erupting into a wave of cheering tones.

And Whitley and the others, who were observing them from a short distance away, let out a sigh of relief.

"Looks like Professor Rope made it."

Crystal said with a light smile.

Whitley nodded, along with Eri and Yutsuki who both let out a sigh of relief.

Gold and Silver were also quite emotional as they watched the scene in front of them.

Diana was the only one who still had a frown on her face.

"What's wrong, Sister Diana?"

Whitley noticed that something was wrong with Diana and asked.

Diana frowned, but had no intention of hiding it.

"I have a very intimate feeling about those particles of light...it's strange, and I'm pretty sure I haven't seen anything like it. But...it's just weird..."
