"This scene...I feel like I'm more familiar with it..."
Diana looked at the rain that had not fallen on anyone, but suddenly appeared like a downpour, and then fell here...
Everyone else present also sucked in a breath of cold air...
This scene was truly unseen, so much pure energy, it was simply a waste!
They subconsciously released their Pokémon as well. How bad it was to watch this energy being wasted, it would be better for them to follow a little bit as well.
Even their bodies had energy light particles falling from them. There was a strange and comfortable feeling as the energy light particles entered the body. The only exception was Diana... all the light particles avoided her, and a green glow surged from her body.
The crowd looked at each other, but didn't know how to explain it...
"Let's wait for Rope to come out and give us an explanation."
Whitley said somewhat helplessly.
"How can I explain this to you..."
Rope stroked his chin, for a moment he didn't know how to answer Hoopa's question. Hoopa made a blank stare and said, "Don't you change the topic for me! Hurry up, why must you tear down the idol!"
There was some helplessness in his tone, and more than anything else, he was worried.
"I have my own little stubbornness. This asshole Arceus gave me so much to do. It's not too much for me to tear down an idol of his to vent my anger."
Hoopa shook his head helplessly, he knew that saying the end of the story was not going to ask anything...
Rope's words weren't all lies, Rope was basically sure that the reason why this world was facing an extinction crisis was because of Arceus, if it wasn't for the trouble Arceus caused, he really wouldn't have had to go through so much trouble...
But then odds are he wouldn't have had to cross over.
He was still an ordinary genius rich second generation, with money, a car and a house, and in the future, he could still find a wife who fit his eyes and have a cute or not so cute child...
Thinking about it like that sure made him even more pissed off...
Hoopa stopped asking, this Rope guy hated riddlers with a passion, but in the eyes of many...he was the biggest riddler of them all.
"Do you think the Arceus you've seen is him?"
Rope asked as he patted the statue he held under his armpit and opened his mouth.
Hoopa listened to this and scrutinized the statue carefully. He had actually seen it many times, there were similarities to Arceus, but there were actually more differences, except that for some reason, he just felt that this guy was Arceus himself.
"You think this is Arceus too, don't you...so the question arises...who is the alpaca?"
With that said, Rope looked at the still gushing energy that was now spewing out more energy than he had in his body...
It's hard to imagine just how strong the true owner of this power source is!
Rope couldn't help but let out an emotional sigh. This world is really strange... I wonder if Airwolf and the others had encountered such bullshit when they were saving the world back then...
"Cut the crap and get out of here, there's no more value here."
Said Rope as he was about to leave.
"But if you destroy this place, how are those villagers supposed to continue the rituals to get in touch with the curse?"
Hoopa asked as he frowned and opened his mouth.
Rope shook his head, "There is no curse at all. It's just that their bodies need those powers. There is such energy in their land...wait until we get back and explain it all together or I'll have to say it twice..."
——————————————
"Looks like he found a clue."
Year sat in his own chair looking at the light screen in front of him, which was the image of Rope just pulling out the idol.
At Year's side, the young girl with a crown and wearing magnificent robes sitting on a gorgeous chair was staring at the idol with a serious expression...
After a long time, a beautiful voice like a yellow warbler coming out of the valley and a fountain springing up from the valley resounded in the not-so-large room.
"Year... do you think I did something wrong?"
The young girl spoke doubting herself, but her face was resolute like a diamond.
Year looked bitter, "You don't even need my answer...you've always been like this...seeming to ask others, but really just to refute them before asserting your will."
"It's quite pointless, Empress..."
The young girl looked at Year, and a hint of resentment couldn't help but show in her eyes.
"You're the only one who dares to talk to me like that..."
Year, however, had no intention of responding...there were some people, some things, that a miss was a miss, and there simply wouldn't be a second possibility.
"I won't let Rope face life-threatening things that weren't meant for him to face in the first place..."
Year looked at Rope's face on the screen with a somewhat complicated expression.
"Don't you want to think of him as your successor?"
The young girl asked as she spoke faintly.
"You guys pry less into the internal affairs of the company, besides even if I'm willing to give up my position, that also depends on whether others are willing or not... furthermore, I'm still in the prime of my life... there's no problem with living for a few hundred million years... what's the point of retiring so early? "
Year said with a shallow smile, as if he had heard some kind of joke.
"When you retire, go with me to see the Altair Sea."
The young girl's bashful voice reached Year's ears...
Year looked at the young girl in front of him with a shocked face, the young girl's face remained unchanged still high and honorable. But Year still saw the slightly reddened ears.
"...Let's talk about it sometime."
Year puts on a look of utter disinterest before redirecting his gaze to Rope.
————————————
Rope suddenly felt a pang of malice...
"Hmm, familiar flavor, seems like dog food..."
"Eh, I'm not a single dog anymore, I don't have to eat this..."
"That said, if I can look at me anytime...Year you son of a bitch!"
Rope gave an airy middle finger to a patch of air.
Then the feeling of being spied on disappeared...
[Dingdong, please Savior 12138 pay attention to your respect for your boss! Or else your salary will be deducted!
"Deduction! It's not like I've ever seen you give it out..."
Rope rolled his eyes.
Hoopa and Rotom looked at each other as they watched Rope fighting the air.
'Is Rope stupid?'
'Probably... it always is or isn't the case that he gets silly for a bit...'
————————————
"Thank you, Professor Rope!"
Eiichi held Rope's hand tightly, then shook it up and down wildly in excitement.
"Without you, we really don't know how to face our children in the future..."
As soon as Eiichi's words came out, the old father beside him immediately went dark...
Eiichi didn't know how to face his children, he as a father knew how to face Eiichi...
The corners of his mouth twitched slightly, then he smiled, "Thank you very much indeed, Professor Rope."
Rope pulled his hand, which had been squeezed raw, out. People meant well, Rope couldn't elemental transform them so that they couldn't even hold their hands...
"It's just a small thing, and we get what we want."
Rope wasn't being modest, even if these villagers didn't appear to be in a situation where they couldn't leave the village, Rope would have finished this matter against their pressure.
Maybe next time Rope would face the obstruction of an entire village...
"Professor Rope..."
Eiichi spoke with a hard look on his face, "Professor Rope, I want to know... is the curse on us... lifted forever?"
Rope nodded and shook his head, startling Eiichi across the room...
"The hell..."
"You guys aren't going to be okay...but I've said it from the beginning...it's not a curse."
Rope eyed everyone gathered around then spoke, "The energy that just erupted is very specific has a certain dependency. The land you all live in has such energy pervading it, causing your bodies to adapt to the environment modified by that energy, and it would be costly for you to leave this place."
"But I'm releasing all the energy in a single stream, and in this way your bodies have completed their transformation and will no longer be dependent on the energy. All of you can leave the village now."
"But I suggest that it would be best for your children to be sent out and not return to this land so easily, or at least not to stay in this village for long periods of time while they still have the heart to venture out..."
Diana on one side froze as she listened, and then suddenly made the connection between what Rope was saying now and her own village...
So her village, too, had experienced all this today?
Diana didn't have an answer. But she believed that as long as she followed Rope's lead, then she would definitely get the truth.
"Well that's pretty much it... Chief, do you know of any other village that exists?"
Rope opened his mouth and asked. His face was very serious, so Eiichi, who was in front of him, didn't say much, "I've heard Diana say it before. We do know the location of a village. And there's still contact from time to time now..."
"And according to the ancestral training, we didn't bar this village's information to other villages."
"But the current ancestral training... heh, that village is just to the west of us, and its exact location should be in the middle of a forest somewhere. Since we can't go out, the exact location is meaningless to us, and I've never asked them about it."
"It is reasonable that they should come back here the day after tomorrow to purchase some food. So you can wait here for their arrival, not that it matters if you can get their help or not, but at least you can follow them to find the village."
Eiichi said this with a righteous face...
"Eh, you're...smart for a village chief." That was all Rope could say.
"Life is forced upon us. May you, professor, always remain yourself."
It sounded like a taunt, but Eiichi said it with immense seriousness.
Rope nodded and said, "I will."
"Then don't say so much. Professor, we have prepared a great feast! Come and party with us!"
Eiichi shouted towards the villagers behind him, so there were countless cheers in response.
Rope turned his head to look at Whitley and the others, and saw that they had no intention of objecting, so he nodded in response.
——————————
The tall bonfires at night seemed to light up the night sky.Rope couldn't help but have a pleased smile on his lips as he watched the people singing and dancing.
"Anything happy?"
Cynthia's voice came from her ear.
"It's been...hard work."
Rope said as he tucked in his smile and looked seriously at Cynthia on the screen.
Cynthia shook her head and said, "It's all just something that should be done. And it's nothing more than strengthening your defenses and exercising yourself, all just things you should normally do."
Rope gave a shallow smile. He knew that Cynthia was saying it was easy. But in reality, only she herself knew how much effort she actually put in.
"Don't worry, I'll definitely take care of the last thing..."
"Rope..."
Cynthia interrupted and looked at Rope with a smile.
Rope wasn't talking either, and looked into Cynthia's eyes with the same smile.
"Rope, I bought a house. It's right in the foothills of Mount Coronet. It's got a big enough yard to let our Pokémon move around freely, the heating is good, so it's not cold even in the mountains, it's got great light, and the forest is nearby, so the air is fresh."
"A really great house, and we get to have a tree and fruit forest and a clearing. I'd like to grow some vegetables in it. The garden can be left to Roserade to take care of, and I can help you grow vegetables if the kitchen is left to you... it's really nice!"
Cynthia's eyes were full of anticipation. The smile at the corners of Rope's mouth grew softer and softer. In the end it bordered on doting.
"Yes, all listen to you, when the time comes then, I'll plant the vegetables with you, you prepare the vegetables and I'll do the cooking. We can also watch the sunrise and sunset together."
"I want to accompany you, look at the spring flowers, listen to the cicadas in the summer, enjoy the golden fall leaves, smell the cold winter plums."
"Since then, I want to have you by my side, I want to experience every winter and summer with you, I want to walk into every spring and fall of your life."
"You'll have me by your side, watching the sunrise and the sunset, the sunrise and the moonset. We could travel the four corners of the world if you wanted. We could watch the sea change if you want. "
"We have a long time ahead of us, Cynthia. we can see this one hundred years, and we can see the next, and the next hundred years. Eternal life is the cruelest of curses."
"So for the sake of my happiness, I very meanly cursed you."
"And since then, to avoid being alone, I've been the only one in your world."
Rope grinned, "Do I look shameless to you?"
"It's pretty shameless..." a smile crossed Cynthia's face as well, "So Shameless One, what price are you going to pay for cursing me?"
"Ah! What a hard question! I'm already yours, whatever you want, just come and get it."
Cynthia looked at the quirky Rope and laughed softly, "I'll settle the score with you slowly later."
"Be still." Rope made a bow and then said.
"...Rope, could Red really be a bad guy?"
Cynthia barred the question after a moment of silence...
Rope looked at Cynthia and contemplated for a moment before speaking, "Red should have been deceived...even relying on Arceus may not be able to save his world. A broken world is a broken world. Even if the world is saved back, those lost lives won't come back."
"The dead are gone, and the past cannot be traced. Even if you travel through time, the final things simply won't change. How do you know that your traveling wasn't present in the original history?"
"So yeah, the Otherworld Red must have been tricked and then came to our world thinking of reviving his own..."
Cynthia sort of understood Rope's words.
"Then why don't you go talk to him about it?"
Rope lost his smile and shook his head, "When a drowning man grabs a lifesaving straw, he won't let go of it even if you tell him that the straw was simply thrown down by someone else to see him laugh..."
"And...let him try...otherwise he might not really find the meaning of his existence."
"Cynthia, do you know what would be the kindest thing to do for him right now?"
Cynthia was silent for a moment, then said in a heavy tone, "Lock him up...or, kill him."
"Killing him would be the kindest thing to do. Kill him before he reaches his goal. Let this unfulfilled dream forever serve as a regret. Instead of the despair of having accomplished the dream and then realizing it served no purpose..."
Rope's tone was heavy as well. These were things he knew all too well as a human...but when it really came to doing it...who could lay their hands on him? Could Rope really lay his hands on that Red's face and give him a hard time?
There was no such thing as a reprieve between them and the otherworldly Red. Even if it was because of the guilt that his own heart felt like a worm that wasn't counting as gnawing at his heart, the Otherworld Red would do everything in his power to destroy this world and then accomplish his goal.
"Alright. Let's not talk about such a heavy topic. I'll settle it. You just take care of being beautiful at home!"
Rope thumped her chest.
Cynthia laughed, then said, "What, delaying you from having a good time with the little girls? I just saw a lot of little girls thinking about coming over and having a nice talk with you!"
"Jealous?" Rope had a teasing look on his face.
"Not really, just wondering if I should hang up the phone to save you from complaining about me being a yellow face."
"What do you mean yellow face, Miss Cynthia do you have any self-awareness at all! Elected as the second most beautiful female trainer for three consecutive years, you call yourself a yellow-faced woman, how do you let other people live!"
Cynthia's eyes turned cold when she heard that, "What...is the first place very attractive to you? Let's see, first place seems to be Diantha again...what, do you want me to give you her number?"
"Oh yeah, I remember you two seem to be in touch...should I hang up first~"
"Auntie have mercy!"
Without any hesitation, Rope immediately raised his hands in surrender.
"I was wrong! I voted for you every term! According to me those netizens are just blind! My Cynthia is so beautiful! How dare they not vote because of the lack of exposure!"
"But the lack of exposure is better," Rope said playfully, "My wife, I can just see for myself!"
"Bah, who's your wife!" Cynthia blushed and rolled her eyes before hanging up.
Rope laughed softly, then silently sipped the tree fruit juice in his hand.
After the call with Cynthia ended, the cheerful aura around Rope instantly tightened. In its place was the icy coldness of a stranger.
Cynthia wasn't wrong, Rope did attract the attention of many little girls...but Cynthia was also wrong. There simply wouldn't be any girls who would dare to approach Rope easily...whether it was Rope's own aura or Cynthia's prestige...there wasn't much of anyone who would want to steal a man from Cynthia...there wasn't a chance in hell...
"Professor Rope and Champion Cynthia are so close..."
Crystal said while glancing at Akin, who had gotten together with Silver to watch a feature film on his cell phone, and couldn't help but bring on a mean grumble.
Whitley laughed and said, "That's right, Cynthia's sister and Rope's relationship can be very good, Rope will not only say nothing to Cynthia's sister, even to Professor Oak he will hide some information."
For Rope, his greatest strength is information, and some of that information, once known by others, could very well be what puts him to death.
But Rope just manages to tell Cynthia all of his information...not caring at all about the importance of that information.
As for Diana, Yutsuki and Eri were listening to Whitley's anecdotes about his previous travels with Rope, smiling silently.
"Ugh~ Professor Rope seems to have a phone call again."
Yutsuki suddenly whispered.
And so the eyes of the crowd of eating girls converged on Rope once again.
"Daisy," Rope frowned as she looked at Daisy, who was wearing a professional outfit on the screen, "You go rest...you haven't closed your eyes for a few days after all...things aren't that urgent, I can handle it all ..."
Daisy gave a sardonic smile, "I just wanted to help."
"You resting is the best help you can get." Rope shook his head.
"I know you've been handling all your work well lately. But Daisy...work is the little things, you're the big thing you know? You'll be in charge of the Institute from now on, if you wear yourself out now..."
"It's fine, I can handle it!"
Daisy said with a smile, a trace of disappointment involuntarily emerging from the bottom of her eyes.
Rope saw it...
"Thank you, it's really nice, Professor Oak and I never realized you had such a talent, Mei!"
Daisy's mood perked up a bit at that and smiled, "It's nice to be able to help."
"After all, I don't have all those fighting abilities Cynthia has, so it's good to be able to make you worry less about the little things."
Rope nodded then continued, "But you still need to rest..."
Rope and Daisy talked a lot, about life lately, work, and the fight with the administration, Daisy told Rope that one of the families had suddenly turned on them, so things were going well.
Blah blah blah...
After hanging up the phone, Daisy smiles lightly and leans back in her chair. She was extra happy today because she saw Rope's face.
Daisy picks up the ringing phone.
"Uh, okay, got it."
"By the way, give Ryoma's family a day's grace to confess. If I can't give a charge I approve of the day after tomorrow, then I'll convict them myself."
"Reason? I'm happy!"
After saying that, she hung up the phone.
