The fight wasn't supposed to have much of a ripple. the difference in strength between Rope and Sangato was just too great. One was top of the world and the other was just upper middle back then and lower middle now...
I have to say that eyesight can really limit one's future at times. In Rope's opinion, if Aohane and these youngsters didn't go out and walk around a bit, then Sangato should be the strongest one among them.
"Okay, I won, now can I go into the village?"
Rope asked with a light smile as he retrieved Gengar, who had emerged from the world's crevice, into his ball.
Sangato's mouth twitched, but he still nodded. It couldn't be helped, the village chief said to push himself to the limits of the outsider's strength as much as possible. But was the limit of such a strong person so easily forced out by one's own? One returns to self-knowledge.
In other words that is...one has to have a 13 count...
"Your Excellency may enter the village."
A mellow, but strong voice came out in Rope's ears.Rope turned his head to follow the voice and looked over. An old man was walking towards this side from the crowd with a cane.
Wherever he passed, the crowd silently parted, looking at him with humility and even adoration.
Within a few moments, he walked from the crowd to Rope's front. He had a gentle and kind smile on his face.
"Mr. Rope right, hello. I am the chief of this village, my name is Teikei."
Rope had guessed his identity long ago, but Rope really wasn't bothered by the identity of a village chief. He was more concerned about what the old man had done to deserve such a situation where the villagers adored him endlessly.
"Hello village chief, my name is Rope, and I'm officially enrolled in League as a Pokémon Professor by profession."
At these words, the others were fine.Sangato's face was even more moved...Pokémon Professor! so young!
Village Chief Teikei noticed Sangato's expression and guessed that this 'Pokémon Professor' that Rope spoke of so lightly was not as simple as he thought...
But now was not the time to inquire.
"Well, Professor Rope, the visitor is a guest, and it's just about meal time. Come over to my house and have some. What requests do you have. Our village will try to fulfill them all."
Teikei smiles kindly, like an old man without much temper.
Rope smiled with a blushing smile and said, "How embarrassing that would be, we're three or four people here, how embarrassing."
She said sorry on her lips, but the anticipation in her eyes was about to overflow. The two people and the devil behind them were all looking at Rope helplessly, although they also knew that Rope was definitely pretending. But pretending this kind of thing is still quite embarrassing...
"Hahaha! There are still plenty of rations at home, come on!"
The village chief, as an old fart, naturally could see Rope's meaning, so that Rope was acting this way, the village chief wouldn't be stupid enough to just not take him to eat.
After the village chief finished speaking, he simply walked towards his house.
Diana and the others followed closely. Although they didn't know if the village head's family's cooking was as good as Rope's. But in the end, it was still worth looking forward to.
But Diana kept feeling something familiar... yes, it was familiar.
When Rope came to his village, he was also taken to dinner by an old man. Yes, that old man was Diana's grandfather, and Rope had taken Diana to his institute for a meal.
Diana has always been self-effacing, saying she's just a nobody. But Rope doesn't think so after talking to Professor Carolina. Grandma scolds Rope when she hears he's going to poach Diana for his institute.
But in the end, he agreed. After all, any mythologist nowadays would have a hard time refusing Rope's offer when faced with it.
After all, normal mythology scholars were looking for hints of Legendary Pokémon and ancient kingdoms and civilizations from relics and legends. But it was different with Rope and the others. They had gone straight to the Legendary Pokémon's doorstep to study the Legendary Pokémon themselves, and directly asked the God of Time some questions about the ancient kingdoms and civilizations.
The gods had good memories and whatnot, maybe not so good analyzing and judging skills. But they dictated or projected, and then Rope and the other researchers analyzed it. It was always good research...
All in all Rope's 'Shallow Research Institute' was a place that couldn't be refused for any researcher.
If it wasn't for the fact that there was a large group of researchers behind her, Professor Carolina herself would have wanted to go to the 'Shallow Research Institute' to experience life.
Rope and the others walked behind the village chief for some time, and it wasn't long before they reached the village chief's house. It didn't look like there was much difference between the village head's house and the others' houses. It just looked a bit more ancient.
Rope even observed some traces of being burnt by fire on the house. But he didn't care too much about it. After all, although it was a small probability that a fire would occasionally break out in a house, it was not something too rare after all.
The people were seated under the guidance of the village chief and Aohane. It was then that Rope and the others realized that Aohane was the village headman's grandson.
Diana was relieved by this though...this way at least she wouldn't have to worry about this Rope guy having a meal and then abducting an assistant back.
It's normal for you to kidnap an educated person. What's the point of kidnapping an illiterate person? Because he has no education? Because he can't speak the common language? Or because he's "innocent"?
Well...maybe innocence can really be equated with being uneducated.
While eating his meal, the village chief looked at these uninvited guests. Honestly, the village chief did not have a good feeling about these people at all. He was pretty sure that the anomaly from before was definitely because of these people. But being weak was just so sad. There was simply no room for rejection is all.
"I don't know what you all came to our village to do? Please also tell us we can also give you the greatest cooperation!"
The village chief put his stance very low. It was because he knew that he had neither the right to refuse nor the bottom of a hard line. All he could do now was to pray to his god.
'O Lord God of Creation, may you bless your people!'
"We are here to investigate which god your village worships."
Rope said with a light smile as he ate his meal and swallowed it.
'O Lord God of Creation, did you hear that! He wants your people to do...''
'Eh? Coming at the creator god?'
"Didn't you intend for us people to do something for you?"
The village chief asked with some confusion.
"Help me? What can you guys help me with?"
Rope froze for a moment upon hearing this, then opened his mouth to ask.
The village chief also coughed softly, then shook his head and said, "Nothing, nothing. Professor, please say what you require! We will definitely fulfill it as much as possible!"
This was not the first time the village chief had said this, but this time it was said with significantly more sincerity.
Nonsense as long as they weren't running to people, God what counted as something.
What's more, although the idol would always light up a bit every time he worshipped. But the idol didn't seem to bring them any good luck or anything. If it could really bless them, why was there still a fire at that time?
Seriously, if it hadn't lit up so brightly, they probably would have stopped the rituals long ago. But now think about what is the use of lighting up a little bit during the sacrifice, isn't it the same effect to place a sound-activated lamp on the altar?
When he thought of the fire, the village chief's face darkened a bit, but he quickly adjusted.
"That's fine! It's nothing really, I just wanted to know if your village would worship the idol, and if I could, I'd like to be able to see for myself what you see when you do."
That was Rope's idea, rather than listening to others talk endlessly, he would rather take a good look at the reality of this world for himself.
So he would prefer to witness a sacrifice himself. The kind of sacrifice that truly carries worship.
But what Rope didn't know was that this wish of his was destined to fall through...
This village, after the fire that nearly consumed everyone, no longer had any reverence for the gods. The so-called sacrifices were nothing more than a tradition to remember the ancestors.
Rope didn't know that now though, he was still looking forward to their sacrifice.
"We do have our sacrifices often, but the next one is in 3 days, I just don't know if you, professor, can wait that long."
The village chief spoke without much thought, "If professor you're really in a hurry I can also arrange the sacrifice in advance."
"No need." Rope shook his head decisively at his words, "I can wait, and just take this time to do some research on some of the buildings and monuments in the village."
The village headman also nodded at his words, not having any opinion on the matter.
Rope then spoke again, "So we'll be disturbing you for the next few days, Village Chief!"
"No bother, no bother, it's our honor!"
The village chief's face wore an almost pleasing smile. After all, Rope's status was indeed too high. And although their village was sheltered from the world, it wasn't like they were really independent from the world.
They were also an official village settlement after applying for a place in League's administrative district.
Rope smiled lightly and proceeded to make all sorts of small talk.
"Does Professor have a lover yet? You know, after Professor won Sangato just now, I saw a few of the little girls in our village looking at you with eyes that weren't quite right! Hahaha"
Speaking of this, the corner of Rope's mouth couldn't help but withdraw a gentle arc.
"There."
"Grandma! Don't you rush!"
Cynthia looked at the old man's face on the light screen with a helpless expression.
"What's with the attitude, Cynthia I'm telling you! You and Rope must discuss this in the next few days and set a wedding date first. And then find time for you two to get engaged!"
Professor Carolina had a serious look on her face.
"I'm telling you, it's not just me being a Jedi, old man OAK said the same thing. It's just that he can't reach Rope right now."
Cynthia frowned at that. After a moment she shook her head again and said, "I guess it's back to that as well. There's some kind of fae energy cutting off the communication system."
Cynthia wasn't overly worried about Rope though she still had a few concerns. After all, if Rope did except any problems. Lives were connected and she could definitely feel each other.
Just like if she excepted something, Rope would definitely know about it as well.
"I know he definitely doesn't have any problems, I'm still very clear about that kid's strength right now."
Professor Carolina said without a trace of anger. Right now Rope's strength though might still be just a Tenno level in the eyes of the League's crowd.
But the news that Rope had subdued Ultramoon was certainly no secret to those of them involved. To be sure, they were all aware of Ultra Dream's strength as well. And with Rope being so close to them, they certainly knew that Rope's strength would grow as the Pokémon he had taken in became stronger.
If Rope was hard to say right now, he might be a bit weaker than Red without going on the field himself, and at most, he would be close to Green and Green. But by himself on the field...
So even if Rope was now going all over the place to make waves, not many people cared about his safety. They only had to care about the well-being of the place Rope was going to.
"Alright, alright, I'll discuss it with Rope. With both of us so busy right now, and with the Sinnoh region not being able to do without me right now, I'm not going to retire until the next person who can hold the title comes along."
"Then let Rope take your place!"
Professor Carolina said with some reluctance.
"How can he be that available... and it's not like you don't know the basics of what's going on in the Kanto region right now..."
Cynthia didn't have the good sense to say.
At the mention of Kanto, even Professor Carolina was silent. Among the Leagues right now, the Kanto region was being watched by all the people. Although it was said that originally, the Kanto region was used as the League's headquarters and was owned by the other regions. But in the end, each region's League managed its own region adequately. But League HQ's control over the regional Leagues can basically be said to be non-existent...
League is like a loose organization. All of them unless faced with a cataclysm of near destruction. Otherwise no League will easily seek help from other Leagues.
The time of the big event was a joint case between Kalos and Kanto, and Cynthia went into Kanto to help for personal reasons.
"Rope and the others this time, didn't they screw up a bit?"
Carolina asked, opening her mouth a little hesitantly.
Cynthia was silent for a while, then shook her head and spoke, "It's not the same, the Kanto region itself has many families. And Rope and the others have united more than just clans. It's no different from the original ruling structure, just a different leader."
"Now, that old man Charles Goodshow would really be a mascot..."
Professor Carolina shook her head helplessly as she thought of that old friend.
"That little girl from the OAK family is also really powerful, she does things cleanly, at first I thought she was just a little girl with a few talents in coordinator and researcher..."
"Don't you have any sense of crisis?"
Professor Carolina scowled.
Cynthia, however, said, "What's there to worry about..."
A 'I've got plans of my own smile' flowed from the corner of her mouth.
