Chapter 28 - Princess Knight

Seeing that General Aboer had no intention of getting out of the carriage, the instructor did not say anything further.

This was not a place for idle chat; anything important could wait until they were inside.

So, the instructor directly ordered the Training Camp guards to lead the BMW carriage into the Training Camp.

As the carriage fully crossed the gate, the other guards nearby immediately closed the gate.

The gate closed again, and the previously vanished magical barrier reappeared, first floating on the gate's surface, then slowly fading away.

On the other side.

With the instructor leading and the carriage following, they soon arrived at a spacious and tall building.

This was a building specifically used to host guests, and it was regularly cleaned to maintain its neatness.

Normally, it was unoccupied, and only at specific times, namely during the Training Camp's annual graduation, would guests temporarily reside there.

It was rare for guests to be received at other times.

Upon reaching the building, Aboer dismounted the carriage, accompanied by several of his maidservants.

The door opened, and Aboer and the instructor entered the living room one after the other.

Behind them were the General's maidservants, while the attendants and guards remained outside, standing guard at the door.

The living room was large, but its furnishings consisted only of some tables, chairs, and decorative plants, making it appear somewhat plain.

"The layout of this room is truly simple! Didn't Sir Leinajin instruct his subordinates to redecorate it?"

"No matter what, this is the place where the family's assessment personnel are hosted every year; such simplicity really doesn't befit the dignity of the Glenbagen Family."

Aboer frowned slightly and spoke, expressing his dissatisfaction with the living room's environment.

"The Training Camp's duty is thus; it does not require overly luxurious decoration."

"If the General is not satisfied, he can go back and inform the family to handle the matter here."

The instructor responded calmly.

Aboer was displeased by this, but he did not continue discussing the topic.

As they conversed, both men sat on the wooden sofas.

"General, you are busy, yet you have come to this Training Camp outside the city; is there something important?"

As soon as he sat down, the instructor directly questioned the General.

The instructor, of course, knew that the General could not have anything urgent to do here… Truly urgent matters were usually communicated directly by the family through magical instruments.

This was merely a polite formality.

Of course, the main reason was that the instructor did not want to waste any time on this General.

Otherwise, he would have needed to exchange pleasantries and small talk before getting to the main point.

This General was incompetent and idle, spending most of his days with women.

He himself held little real power within the Glenbagen Family; even his position as General was obtained through the machinations of the Earl of Glennbergen.

If not for being the family's eldest son, General Aboer would not even have a chance to inherit the Earl's title.

Moreover, the Earl of Glennbergen was currently in good health, and given General Aboer's lifestyle, it was uncertain who would pass away first.

Furthermore, as someone close to the Earl, the instructor did not need to be overly courteous to General Aboer, lest it be misinterpreted by 'idle people.'

"Nothing important, I just wanted to see what the suburban Training Camp that cultivates so many Dark Guards for the family is like."

"Not long ago, I heard that the Slaves here even staged a rebellion; I wonder if there were any losses?"

Aboer smiled as he explained his purpose to the instructor, and then casually expressed his concern for the Training Camp.

"That was two months ago… All 33 escaped Slaves have been killed, and the Training Camp lost 8 regular soldiers."

"I have already reported the relevant information to the family; the General might find the specific details in the family's intelligence archives."

The instructor replied.

Although the death of some Slaves during training was not a major issue for the Training Camp, the instructor knew that he was merely the manager of the Training Camp, not its owner.

Therefore, whenever an unexpected situation occurred at the Training Camp, he would always upload the information to the Glenbagen Family to prevent anyone from the family from attacking him on this basis.

"Is that so? It's been that long already."

Aboer showed a surprised expression upon hearing this.

The instructor saw no pretense on his face, and thinking of the General's incompetence, it was indeed possible that he truly was unaware of the full situation.

He merely knew a little bit and casually used it to express his concern.

"Since the General wishes to inspect the Training Camp's situation, shall I arrange for someone to give you a tour?"

The instructor did not want to continue the previous topic, nor did he want to waste energy on such a fellow, so he suggested.

"No hurry… By the way, how is my cousin doing now?"

Aboer did not want to end the conversation, so he changed the topic and asked the instructor.

"Mr. Marvin is the Training Camp's alchemist and the evening class teacher. At this time, he is probably resting in his room. Do you need me to send someone to notify him?"

The instructor continued to respond.

"No, hearing that my idle cousin can now contribute to the family truly makes me happy for him."

Aboer couldn't help but exclaim upon hearing Marvin's current situation.

Upon hearing this, the instructor couldn't help but gaze at him, as if confirming whether he was joking.

In his opinion, when it came to idleness, Marvin was nowhere near the top of the list.

Although Marvin had always been experimenting with potions on those Slaves during their years as colleagues, there were no deficiencies in his work ability.

On the contrary, the person in front of him seemed to have made no contributions to the Glenbagen Family other than playing with women.

"Let's not talk about this; let's talk about something interesting… I wonder if Sir Leinajin knows about the recent change of the 'Princess Knight'?"

Aboer gave the instructor a mysterious smile.

"'Princess Knight' change?" The instructor asked, somewhat puzzled.

The [Princess Knight] was a national policy established to increase citizens' willingness to join the army.

Simply put, one person was chosen as the 'Princess Knight' to attract citizens to join the army or to boost military morale.

And "Princess Knight" also referred to the name of the position, not an actual princess; generally, this position was held by noblewomen.

Essentially, this was a mere figurehead, with only one at any given time.

The instructor, of course, understood the "Princess Knight," but he didn't know why her replacement was noteworthy.

He was in the Training Camp, and information was indeed somewhat restricted, but it was just a change of a figurehead, so what was there to care about?

"The new [Princess Knight] is very special, because she is the true princess of this country," Aboer continued with a smile.

Hearing this, the instructor was indeed slightly shocked.

He hadn't expected a royal daughter to choose to do such a thing.

What was she thinking? How could the royal family allow such a situation to happen?

Calling the [Princess Knight] a figurehead was already a polite term; in reality, she was more like the top courtesan of a brothel, attracting young, strong men of the country to join the army by flaunting her beauty.

The instructor found it truly unimaginable that a country's princess would be willing to become such a thing.
