Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 - End of the Year Exams

"It's that time of year again."

Inside the library, Felix sat at a table with a serious look. Before him, Angel was reviewing charms. John is off practicing potions with a couple others who tended to struggle in potions. Before him, unlike the reviewing Angel, he was finishing up the last book for the year.

"It is the end of the year." Angel said.

"Exactly." Felix nodded. "Second year down. I just hope Dumbledore keeps his promise next year."

"Promise? Did he promise to become your tutor or something?" Angel asked not looking up.

"Something like that."

Felix shrugged since it wasn't wrong since Dumbledore did agree to help him with becoming an animagus. While he would be interested in helping John accomplish his goal of becoming an animagus and possible Angel too. It seems a little early for them to try their hand at it, granted he didn't care one way or another. Just he didn't think Dumbledore would agree to their request since he would probably prefer them to wait until their seventh year or after Hogwarts.

"How confident are you in the exams?" Angel asked.

"Passing shouldn't be an issue." Felix answered. "You shouldn't have trouble passing the practical exam either."

"How do you know?" Angel replied.

"Then shall we practice together?" Felix asked,

"Yes!" Angel seemed to beam at those words.

Felix gave her a strange look at the excitement, but didn't put much more thought into it. If practicing magic makes her happy, then next year he will help her with it more. So making a quick note to write down interesting and fun magic to practice next year.

"Alright, then let's go practice." Felix began to pack up and put his things back.

--

Time quickly passed and the exams began. Walking into the test room unlike the fifth and seventh years who were immensely tense. Felix was probably one of the most relaxed in all the years.

"First up is Potions." John said. "I hope it is not too difficult."

"You will be fine, John. You've been practicing hard."

"What happens if I mess up the order, there is also the temperature, or even the amount of ingredients." John rambled.

"John, it will be fine." Felix laughed.

After taking his spot at the desk for the potion exam, Felix looked up at the potion they needed to prepare. It wasn't complex or difficult to make for most second year students who didn't practice a whole lot. So glancing over to John, Felix smiled as his friend let out a breath before mumbling to himself as he prepared to brew the potion.

--

After finishing their potion exam, John left the room with an extra bounce in his step as he seemed confident he did great. Felix followed behind while Angel just smiled while she began to whisper to him.

"It's like he won the jackpot full of galleons." Angel whispered.

"To him, it might feel like it." Felix shrugged.

"I hope he stays the same in the Transfiguration Exam." Angel commented.

"It should be fine. He is pretty good at Transfiguration." Felix answered. "He is much better than Lockhart."

"I don't know if that is a compliment or an insult. Most are better than that attention seeking idiot." Angel rolled her eyes.

Felix nodded at those words since that did seem to be the case. It wasn't that he was bad, but Lockhart was indeed a bit talented when he put some effort into it. It's just that it was a very rare thing and frustrated the professors at times.

--

Time flew by quickly with each exam coming and going alongside Felix handing over the books he wrote over the year. They will be published at some point over the summer.

"So what are your plans for the summer?" Angel asked.

"Sea fishing." Felix replied. "Dad, thought it would be a fun idea and away from potential attacks over the summer."

"Oh," Angel seemed disappointed.

"It's only for a few days." Felix replied. "Other than that, I have no plans."

"Then wait for my letter inviting you over." Angel seemed to beam.

"Mine too." John added.
