"Hey! Mr. Katakana, what kind of expression is that? Are you saying you don't want to learn that ability?"
Whis asked knowingly, seeing Katakana's lingering fear.
Earlier, he had deliberately described the terrifying power of Zeno, erasing six universes in a fit of rage. So in Whis' eyes, Katakana's expression was completely reasonable.
"Forget it, Whis. I suddenly feel Training should be taken step by step. You can't become strong overnight, so I think it's better to progress steadily."
Katakana let out a breath.
Of course he wanted to learn Zeno's erasure ability, but he also understood: to learn it, he had to survive long enough to use it. If he learned it while near Zeno, and Zeno decided not to let him leave, he might end up trapped in the Zeno Temple, playing bizarre, childlike games forever.
That would be worse than death.
So Katakana decided: since he couldn't get the erasure ability yet, he'd first learn everything Whis could teach him, especially the Angelic techniques.
The ability to rewind time for three minutes, that was something Katakana had been dreaming of!
"Hoho! That's a mature decision. I'm relieved!"
Whis laughed warmly.
He then began questioning Katakana about his mastery of the power of destruction.
Katakana, naturally, didn't give a straight answer, just used vague excuses to dodge.
And Whis, as expected, didn't press the issue. He simply nodded in slight surprise and let it go.
"I didn't expect so many twists and turns… but more than those, Mr. Katakana, I want to see how far you've mastered the power of destruction!"
Whis now looked serious. He wanted to know Katakana's actual combat proficiency with the destructive energy.
"I'm not really sure… but I should be a bit stronger than the Gods of Destruction candidate from Universe 11," Katakana said while scratching his head.
Naturally, he wouldn't tell the full truth.
"Then how about this, Mr. Katakana, use your power of destruction, and let's finish our battle from earlier!"
Whis proposed the fairest solution.
Since their last fight was interrupted by the erasure ability, this would be the perfect way to evaluate Katakana's real strength.
"Sounds good, besides, my destructive power doesn't work on Angels anyway."
Saying that, Katakana stomped on the ground and flew into the air.
At the same time, destructive energy surged out of his body.
Dark purple flames spiraled around him.
Raising one hand, Katakana formed a ball of destructive energy in his palm.
Whoosh!
The energy gathered quickly, in just moments, it was the size of a large boulder.
"To gather such a powerful energy bomb so easily… this is interesting," Whis muttered with narrowed eyes.
He had thought Katakana only had a shallow grasp of the power of destruction, but clearly, he was wrong.
Katakana had indeed surpassed Universe 11's candidate in control over destruction.
If that was the case, then Whis felt it might be time for Katakana to meet his father, the Grand Priest.
After all, the Gods of Destruction are officially chosen with the Grand Priest's approval. Even Angels and current Gods of Destruction don't have final authority.
If the Grand Priest deems a candidate unworthy, they simply won't be chosen.
"Whis, why are you zoning out?!"
"If you don't take the battle seriously, don't blame me if you get hurt!"
Katakana suddenly hurled the two destructive energy bombs in his hands!
From his battle with Vermoud, the God of Destruction, he had learned much, and now, he was ready to apply it.
He even considered whether to use some of Vermoud's more sinister techniques.
"...So fast… and he created two of them at once!?"
Whis' face froze as he looked at the incoming energy blasts.
Reacting instinctively, his body flickered and barely dodged.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Although he avoided them in time, Katakana's attacks landed heavily on the ground of the Gods of Destruction realm.
Boom!
Two massive holes opened up, tearing through the surface.
"Ahh… If I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have dodged… Now I'll have to fix it later."
Whis looked at the destruction and sighed in regret.
Add to that the damage from their earlier fight, all of it would need to be repaired before Beerus woke up.
If not, Beerus would be furious upon seeing his ruined domain.
"Whis! You're spacing out again?! Sorry, but my cooldown's over, time to show you some more!"
Seeing Whis distracted, a satisfied smile appeared on Katakana's face.
Since Whis wouldn't teach him erasure, he decided to use what he learned from Vermoud, the darker techniques of destruction.
"Ah,"
Whis's expression turned panicked as he saw countless destructive energy orbs forming in the sky.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A barrage of attacks followed.
