Chapter 106 - Kiana

"AARRGGHH! Lemme go you big ugly demon! Even if Kiana is starving, stinky, slow, Kiana will not bow down to you filthy Demons!"

Moving in the air, the young dirty Wulfin girl punched everywhere, trying her best to attack Titus, who was holding her by the scruff of her dirty neck. "Feisty little one aren't you..."

Just then, footsteps came from behind him. "Unhand her at once you beast!" With a light slap, she grabbed ahold of the Wulfin, hugging her, despite being ridiculously dirty. Eyes wide in surprise, Kiana, for the first time in a long time, felt warmth burning in her frigid heart. She forgot how it felt to have someone care for her.

The woman in question, Celine, stood up angrily, chastising the crude Orc. "How on Earadun could you behave like this against a tongue child! I mean, look at her arms, thin as a stick! Poor little girl must be starving right now. Come to sister..."

Feeling herself getting closer to the big sister, Kiana dropped her guard, willing to embrace her.

That's when the mantle dropped, revealing a pair of black horns

"AAAAAHHHHH!"

Just then, with bleary eyes, Duncan came down the house. "Wuzzapening?"

"We seem to have in our hands a cheeky little thief. Turns out I wasn't wrong in the morning: this little bugger was hiding in the fields, hidden in the tall grass. The only reason she was caught was because she got too hasty. So, what do we do with her now..."

Now shivering in the corner of the campfire, Kiana, the young Wulfin girl, hugged herself even tighter, scared shitless at the sight of an actual Demon here. "Y-you guys are Demon Cultists!?" Glaring her teeth at them, Kiana put her guard up even tighter, afraid that they'd sacrifice her at any moment.

"Woah, woah, woah! Young girl, take back your words! She is the most cutest and softest Demon you can find anywhere! I mean, just look at her..."

Crazy hair, thick glasses on her nose, freckles everywhere; Kiana had no choice but to agree with the apt description – she looked more like those legendary Wizards she heard her grandmama say many times in the past...

At this point, she began crying once more...

"Okay, okay, okay...can someone please take care of her!?"

Now getting angry at the sight of the constant crying girl, Lewis pinched the bridge of his nose, wanting to go back to his sleep once more.

"And also, could someone please rinse the dirt off of her!?"

Seeing the crystal clear water turn dark brown made Celine twitch her nose. But she still forged on...

Despite being clawed constantly by a very cranky Wulfin, Celine managed to brush off the creased mud from Kiana's head, revealing a striking head of soft, silver hair atop her (now very fluffy) ears. "Wow! It's so beautiful..."

Beaming in pride, Kiana replied back, "Yeah, my grandma always used to say that our ancestors were one of the bravest and strongest warriors around! And they followed Mr. Hero when he was fighting the bad guys! That's why they called me 'Kiana', for the hero had a very, very important friend they liked called Kiana..."

Entranced, Celine continued to silently listen while she wiped off the young Wulfin. "Oh, and what did they call him?"

Tilting her head, Kiana replied confusedly. "I dunno, but we all know him as...

The Grey Knight"
