I felt different as I raced back to the fight. The vampire prince's blood pumped through my veins, making me stronger, faster. My vision was sharper in the darkness. I could hear heartbeats from far away.
The ritual spot came into view. Chaos everywhere. My sister Sienna stood in the middle, facing our mother—the Midnight Queen. Golden light poured from Sienna's hands while black fire exploded from our mother's.
I had to help her. For years, Mother had used me, controlled me with her dark magic. The black lines on my skin had faded, but the memory of that control still burned.
"Hold on, Sienna," I whispered. "Your brother is coming."
A shadow moved beside me—Ronan, the Phantom Wolf. Once an enemy, now a friend.
"Took you long enough," he said, his eyes never leaving the fight below. "Caius's blood treatment worked?"
