Chapter 50 - Great Shock

Last night, the wind was strong and the rain was heavy, and deep sleep could not dispel the lingering effects of alcohol.

Qin Yue woke up.

In fact, during the long twenty-four hours of sleep, she had woken up intermittently many times. However, each time she woke up, she felt particularly exhausted and was too lazy to get out of bed, so she would sleep a little longer.

Only now, when the drowsiness had completely faded, and the fatigue in her body had been repaired by time, and her clear soul returned to her brain, did she truly wake up.

She sat on the bed for a while, doing some gentle exercises to loosen her joints and promote blood circulation, then got up to eat something, allowing strength to slowly flow into her body.

Not bad, her body was stronger than she had imagined.

After realizing this, Qin Yue immediately went upstairs to find Aunt Zou.

"Prepare more ingredients for that soup from last time, and make me a pot today," she instructed. "Make it quick."

Aunt Zou looked confused: "Miss, you just got up, do you really want to...?"

"I have my own plans, just do as I say," Qin Yue replied.

After twenty-four hours of contemplation, she had figured out that the reason Little Green Tea was so arrogant was that it didn't have to exert itself during battles, consuming little energy, combined with its strong recovery ability.

In other words, in a prolonged war of attrition, competing in endurance, Qin Yue was completely outmatched. So, she needed to fully utilize her advantage of having the initiative, to press the attack and not give Little Green Tea a chance to recover.

So, you have great endurance, huh? Water Dragon Soul, huh? I'll just unleash a burst of power to clear your health bar; no matter how strong your recovery is, it won't matter.

"But Miss," Aunt Zou said with a complicated expression, "Miss Ningning isn't home... and the second young lady isn't here either."

Qin Yue was taken aback: "Why isn't she home? Where did she go?"

As for her sister, if she's not around, then so be it; it doesn't matter.

Aunt Zou sighed helplessly: "Miss, today is Monday; both of them have gone back to school."

Right, Monday, college students should be attending classes.

"Ugh, fine," Qin Yue said with a click of her tongue, "Send me her class schedule later."

She wanted to see when Little Green Tea had no classes in the afternoon.

......

On Monday morning, the first class for freshmen started right away, while sophomores began their second class. So, when Bai Ningning got up for breakfast, she found that Qin Xin was already gone.

She left really quickly.

Bai Ningning leisurely finished her breakfast before heading to school for class.

"Bai Dayuan, you look pretty good," Guan Qian said, "Radiant."

"Really?"

"Yes, look at your little face, it's so hydrated. Did you have a great weekend?"

Bai Ningning didn't quite understand what she meant, but after thinking about it, this weekend, battling with Qin Yue for three hundred rounds, seemed—kind of enjoyable.

But it also hurt a bit.

Once class officially started, the two stopped talking.

This class was similar to last week's lessons; for Bai Ningning, just glancing at it was enough to recall, so it fell into the category of review. After forcing herself to listen for a few sentences, she had no intention of continuing.

Bored, she took out her phone to check.

First, there was the help group she created for the younger students. The four younger students had been in class for two days and were complaining in the group.

"Two full days of classes on Thursday and Friday, I'm going crazy. Other than not having morning reading, it's just like high school."

"Oh my god, we even have to attend evening self-study."

"One class of advanced math is equivalent to two classes of other subjects; I'm already dying."

Yes, that's how it is in freshman year; otherwise, why is it called a transitional year? It's to give you a bit of that high school feeling.

"Ningning doesn't know": Keep it up, hang in there, sophomore year will be easier.

Just a little consolation.

Then she checked the club side and saw a private message.

"President Lingyin": Are you there? Do you have time Wednesday afternoon?

"Ningning doesn't know": ?

"President Lingyin": The club is recruiting new members on Wednesday, continuing until the weekend. If you're free, could you come?

Bai Ningning instinctively wanted to refuse; it was so hot, how tiring.

But she didn't have a good reason.

She still owed President Lingyin a favor, and without a compelling reason, it was really hard to refuse.

"Ningning doesn't know": I'll ask for permission; if I don't have to go home, I can come.

"President Lingyin": Ask for permission?

In a classroom in the adjacent teaching building, a curvy girl blinked in confusion, thinking that this person was already in college; do they still need to ask their parents if they can go home?

She had clearly found out that Bai Ningning didn't have a boyfriend, which was why she often reached out to her.

That's right; it seemed like she was very open, but in reality, her thoughts weren't that unconventional. When it came to asking for permission to go home, besides her parents, she only wanted to hear from a boyfriend.

Hmm, on this point, she was even less progressive than her little brother, Tian Ge.

On the other side, Bai Ningning began typing.

She thought that in their previous encounters, President Lingyin had shown a lot of enthusiasm towards her, indicating that she was someone who understood the field. Because those who didn't understand, like Qin Xin, were as bland as water and not enthusiastic at all.

So, she sent a message.

"Ningning doesn't know": I need to ask my girlfriend for permission; I might need to go home for a date on Wednesday afternoon.

Lingyin jumped up immediately.

"That student," the old professor adjusted his glasses, "if you have any questions, please raise your hand first."

"Sorry..."

She quickly sat back down.

But her heart, which was hanging in the air, couldn't settle down.

Girlfriend?

[President Lingyin]: Girlfriend? Date?

Thank goodness typing wouldn't expose her nervous feelings.

[Ningning doesn't know]: Hmm, I need to check, if there are no classes on Wednesday afternoon, I might have to go home for some fun.

As soon as Lingyin sat down, she almost jumped up again.

Girls with girls... she had seen that in anime, but those were just anime, how could it be in reality?

And it was happening right next to me!

Lingyin suddenly recalled a few days ago when she asked her to come for a face-to-face meeting, saying she wanted her to agree to a request. At that time, Bai Ningning seemed a bit nervous, but when she heard it was just about performing an otaku dance for her, she had clearly sighed in relief.

So, what was she really thinking at that time? Did she think I was going to ask her to do something?

The more Lingyin thought about it, the more uneasy she felt, the more her heart raced, the more she...

Closed the current chat window and opened another conversation.

[Lingyin]: Are you there!

[Tian Di]: I'm here, I'm here! Sister Ling, I'm here! Whatever you need, just say the word.

[Lingyin]: Let's go out this afternoon! I need to consult you about something!

On Bai Ningning's side, seeing Lingyin not responding for a long time, she guessed it was a tacit agreement.

That's great, she's reasonable.

She pulled out her schedule, glanced at the afternoon class, and asked the girl next to her, Guan Qian: "Is the teacher taking attendance in this afternoon's class?"

"Occasionally, but the requirements aren't high. Last semester, those who didn't attend many classes still got quite a few participation points," Guan Qian recalled, "The teacher is pretty nice."

Bai Ningning picked up her small bag and left: "Then I'm going home first."

What else was there to wait for? No attendance, no class.
