Walter and Noah stepped out as the carriage arrived at the mansion, only to see William standing outside, arms crossed and eyes blazing.
Walter froze in place, then quickly ducked behind Noah.
Noah turned to him, confused. "What's wrong?"
Walter pointed at William. "H-He's angry…"
Noah followed his gaze—and immediately stiffened. William's glare was like fire. Even Noah, who rarely showed fear, quickly turned his face away and whispered, "Let's get inside—quickly."
He grabbed Walter's wrist, and they both hurried into the mansion.
Just as they stepped inside, Bretum, the head butler, greeted them loudly. "Welcome home, Lord Noah. Welcome, Young Lord Walter."
Both of them jumped at his booming voice.
Walter clutched his chest. "For a second, I thought my brother was going to beat me!"
His face crumpled in mock tears, clearly still shaken. Noah sighed, pulling him along. "Come on, let's get to your room."
