Chapter 189 - 189. Seethrough Mist

Teveli's initial shock at discovering the existence of the Immortal Mist quickly turned to anger, especially when Kamu appeared out of nowhere the night after the big reveal and dragged him away. The young Tele Teveli wanted to strangle the ghost-man, but thanks to his story, he knew that killing Kamu wouldn't do much, because the ghost would simply come back.

So Teveli had no choice but to give in and follow the Immortal Mist's Ishán straight to the headquarters of the assassin organization, where to his greatest surprise, not a single figure dressed in black looked in his direction. In this way, the pair reached Kamu's office, where the older Teike man simply took a seat at his desk and grinned innocently at Teveli.

"Okay, I'll take the bait." The ghost-man chuckled. "You can give it your all, I won't be angry." He tilted his head to the side, which was enough to make Teveli take a deep breath and clench his hands.

"Why didn't you tell me you were alive? You know, a little warning would have been nice! I've been reporting to you about all sorts of shit for years, and I had no idea that you could just snap a finger and find out everything because you had a whole fucking secret state in your hands!" Teveli let out a burst of anger, but his words only made Kamu laugh.

"Why would I tell you? It wasn't important." The Ishán shrugged. "As for the reports." Kamu's face got a little serious here. "I told you I'd teach you. You're the perfect spy. The best man I've ever had." The Ishán announced, then snapped his fingers. "While we're at it!" He stood up and turned his back on Teveli, only to face the boy again a minute later and hand him a pile of black stuff.

"What is this?" Teveli asked suspiciously.

"Your uniform." Kamu said immediatelly.

"What?" Teveli blinked.

"Your Immortal Misty uniform. Now that you've finally stopped growing, it finally made sense to make it. Just put on the mask and the whole outfit will appeare on you." The leader of the Mist explained enthusiastically, to which Teveli pressed the clothes in his hands with an angry face.

"Who told you that I wanted to be in this thing of yours?" The boy hissed between his teeth.

"Whether you want or not is not important, you know too much. You know our techniques, the Mist covered you and what's in the Mist stays there." The ghost-man shrugged.

"At the beginning of my teaching, there was no mention of such a thing!" Teveli got angry.

"Hey Kamu, I don't want to interfere in your business, but maybe next time you could announce that someone will belong to the Mist before you manage to make them belong to the Mist." The poison-mixing sword-ghost Ajtony appeared next to the Teike man.

"Are there more of us?" Teveli grimaced even more.

"You're not the only one who was taught to be a Mist assassin without his knowledge." Ajtony waved.

"Suk?" Teveli's eyes widened. "How did you convince him to join?" The boy scratched his head in confusion, completely forgetting his anger for a moment.

"I threatened the Athamana." Kamu shrugged.

"Don't you dare touch my team!" Teveli's eyes flashed with murderous fire.

"You should be tied together." Ajtony rolled his eyes and folded his arms in front of him.

"There's something in that, they would work really well together." Kamu thought for a moment, but in the end he just shook his head. "It's just that you're my best spy, so it's better if you stay secret for a while longer." The ghost-man chuckled. "Don't look so grumpy. The Mist will still be useful to you. Oh, I remember. Now that I'm alive." Kamu reached into his pocket and took out a coin, which he pointed at Teveli. "With this, you'll be able to easily reach me wherever you are. Just concentrate on the Mist." The man grinned, and then, before Teveli could even comprehend what he had said, he almost forced him out into the street in the middle of the night.

If he was honest, Teveli would have liked to forget the whole incident completely, especially since Kamu called him to him every other day. However, just when he had succeeded in this matter and had gotten used to ignoring all of Kamu's stupid chatter when he called him to him, he ended up in a room he had never seen before after a call.

"So how did he get here?" He heard Biaskoncy's voice, but he didn't dare move a single step, if he had done so, he was sure that Suk, who was sitting in front of him, would immediately realize who was standing next to him. Teveli was too shocked to have a conversation.

"My spy from Madüjawr." Kamu announced.

"Then why did I collect this?" The current Vietryk of the Immortal Mist brought the stack of papers to the table, which Kamu immediately began to read.

"To see if your observations match his." The ghost-man gave the answer, then after a sigh he put down the papers and quickly drew a pattern on top of them with his index finger, thanks to which the sheets were burned to the ground in front of everyone. "Thank you, Biaskoncy, you can go." He waved at Vietryk, who, although gritting his teeth, left the room.

"Is he your Madüjawr spy?" Suk looked at Teveli, who was then dressed in black clothes, with suspicious eyes.

"Yes. Feel free to ask him anything. He can answer everything." Kamu nodded and folded his arms in front of him, then started to grin.

"Who controls my tribe?" Suk asked the question, with such a piercing gaze that Teveli had to swallow a huge one, and he even glanced at Kamu, hoping the ghost-man would help him, but he didn't get any support.

"In most cases, Zovárd Lelle. Except for the times when Zovárd Urias has clear moments." Teveli finally said and tried to deepen his voice so that his friend wouldn't recognize him.

"He's really good." Suk snorted.

"What did I say." Kamu chuckled, then stood up. "I hereby place him at your service. Do with him as you wish." Kamu said seriously, then turned to the sword ghost. "Come on, Ajtony, let's leave them to get to know eachother." He chuckled and left the pair alone with the ghost in his wake.

"I have no idea how you know about it, but you must be very good if you noticed that my aunt is in control of the tribe." Suk stood up, and Teveli nodded at his words, still not knowing what to do. "Here you go." Suk held out to him the coin that had brought him here. "I don't care what that bastard says, I can get the information myself." Suk grimaced as if his pride had been trampled on and that was what broke the ice on the Tele boy and made him laugh.

"I think it's better if you keep it. At least we won't have any trouble with finding out where the other one is." He remarked as he reached for his mask.

"I know that voice!" Suk's eyes widened.

"Of course you know it, we're almost always together!" The boy took off his mask. "Hello, Suk." The boy put one hand on his hip.

"Tev!" The Zovárd boy laughed. "Not only for my uncle, but you work for him too?" Suk asked, still laughing.

"Your uncle just got on my nerves with his un-Zovárd behavior. As for him." Teveli looked towards the door. "It wasn't planned that I would become a member of the Mist." He finished.

"Ah, so they framed you too." Suk shook his head.

"You put it nicely." Teveli grimaced.

"From what I've seen of them." Suk nodded towards the door. "They consider us both very important members." He explained. "What do you say? Let's get on their nerves?" He asked the question accompanied by a grin.

"Us two against the Mist?" Teveli asked with a smile.

"Us two against the Mist! Oh, and don't think I won't question you about all the information here about Madüjawr." He nudged towards the library.

"Only if you tell me what I don't know about your tribe. There's something wrong with you guys, but I can't figure out what it is for the spirits." Teveli held out his hand towards his friend.

"Deal!" Suk grabbed his friend's hand. "Come on, let's get out of this dusty place and go somewhere where we can talk more comfortably." He gestured towards the door.

"Let's go." Teveli nodded as he walked out of the center of the Immortal Mist alongside his friend.
