Chapter 120 - Ragnarök Is a Fixed Number and Cannot Be Changed

"Asgard—this is important!"

Tony Stark stared at the diary entry describing the destruction of Asgard, the coming Ragnarök.

He recalled his previous discussions with Nick Fury, and their conclusion was clear: based on existing intelligence, Asgard was likely a critical barrier protecting Earth.

If Asgard were destroyed in the future, triggering Ragnarök, it would be disastrous for Earth.

This also meant that in the event of crises like alien invasions, Earth would no longer have foreign aid.

Like Nick Fury, Tony Stark's first reaction was how to handle this future world of conflict—the gap between Earth and alien civilizations. Just look at the disparity between his cutting-edge technology and the Destroyer armor, representing the peak of Asgardian technology—the difference was glaring.

So, although he feared Asgard's existence in his heart, he had to admit that Asgard's presence was essential to Earth today.

"Loki, Loki—why is it still him? He's obviously dead!" Thor growled lowly.

He was furious. Just because Loki was his younger brother didn't mean he could accept it—especially since his brother had caused the deaths of their mother.

Odin remained silent nearby, worried. He had already known and accepted Asgard's Ragnarök, but it did not mean his children and wife had to die with it. That was unacceptable.

"Could it be that Loki... isn't dead yet?"

Odin looked at Thor and said, "Loki isn't dead?"

Thor was stunned for a moment. He had secretly longed for freedom and had hidden his grief from the outside world, but he still mourned inside.

When Odin died, Thor couldn't control the expression on his face.

"That's very possible," Odin said calmly.

"The diary mentioned Loki crying while watching your mother and me die. That must mean something—that he likely lived past our deaths. Though this timeline is different from the original history, the possibility that your brother is still alive is strong.

"Ordinary people who fall into the void of the universe basically die. But no matter how much water or darkness Loki endures, he is still a god—the god of tricks—and he has supernatural powers.

"It's just that his divine power doesn't come from Asgard's Odin, but from the blood of the Frost Giant family. That's the only difference, but there are many similarities.

"Therefore, I suspect Loki is probably not dead. If this world is just a series of stories, then your youngest son is likely a very important villain—and possibly still alive."

Odin's words stunned Thor. He had never considered it before. His mind was straightforward: seeing Loki's death, he assumed it was final.

But what Odin said was true. Judging from Rowan's diary, maybe Loki wasn't dead yet.

Especially since Rowan now knew Loki had fallen into the void of the universe and his bones were nowhere to be found, but Rowan was still sure Loki's tricks would kill their mother in the future.

This implied that Rowan might know something—that Loki in history may have been young like this, but was actually still alive. This was not impossible.

Thinking Loki might still live, Thor felt overjoyed. It meant he might see his brother again, even if the reunion wasn't pleasant—it was better than letting his brother die.

It had never occurred to him to kill Loki himself.

After all, he was the orthodox brother-in-law.

"The destruction of Asgard is almost irreversible!" Odin sighed.

Looking at Rowan's diary, he was extremely certain about Asgard's Ragnarök. Obviously, Rowan also knew the secret of the S.P.E.A.R.

That was why he was so certain—there was no way to avoid destroying Asgard.

"I'm going to kill that Flame Titan now!"

Thor's temper flared suddenly.

Thinking of his father's death and Asgard's Ragnarök, he couldn't hold back. He felt that if he killed the Flame Titan Surtr, nothing would happen. After all, according to prophecy, Surtr was the one who would destroy Asgard completely.

Cut off this source, and everything could be alleviated.

"It's useless. What do you think?" Odin glanced at his son and said, "If I could have done it, I would have."

God King Odin sighed. Not only could the Flame Titan Surtr not be killed, but he had to remain and rely on him to fulfill this destiny.

"Why, Father? Why is this?" Thor asked.

"Why was it written ambiguously in Rowan's diary? Why are you silent on this? We clearly know Ragnarök will come in the future, so why did we just watch it happen? Why didn't we prevent it? What are the odds?"

God King Odin sighed, unsure whether to tell his son about Hela.

He looked at the diary again. Rowan had mentioned it was strange whether the established future could be changed.

It was understandable to worry about ulterior motives, but why did Rowan worry the established destiny couldn't be changed? Isn't established destiny changeable if one chooses differently?

At that moment, God King Odin recalled a friend and rival—The Ancient One, the magic master of Asgardian Earth.

The Ancient One had expressed a similar view: no matter what one does, some things are predestined.

Some events are bound to happen, so they happen—no matter how much you struggle, you can't change the outcome.

This was called the "fixed outcome" in their East.

The "fixed outcome" meant something that cannot be altered.

Odin felt the same way. Facing Ragnarök—the greatest disaster to Asgard—he understood what inevitability really meant.
