On reaching the kitchen, King Killian wasted no time in lifting Elena and setting her down on one of the marble counters. "So tell me," he said, his voice low, "What do you want to eat?"
"Hmmm," she hummed, swinging her legs playfully. "I think rice and vegetable stew will do it for me." She giggled softly.
"Rice and vegetable stew it is," Killian replied, already turning to rinse his hands.
He grabbed a chopping board and every vegetable he'd be needing, washing them thoroughly before he started cutting, moving from the softest to the hardest. His hands worked swiftly and every now and then, he'd glance her way with that unreadable expression of his.
