"Get…get…get it!" Seeing Ryuji's unwillingness to help, Zenitsu could only grit his teeth and trust him.
Tanjiro watched quietly as Ryuji prepared to remove the crab.
Zenitsu stood trembling before Ryuji, fear in his eyes.
Seeing Zenitsu's nervousness, Ryuji said, "You're shaking so much. Close your eyes! You won't shake if you close your eyes!"
Ryuji was afraid that Zenitsu would run away if he saw him draw his sword, so he had Zenitsu close his eyes to ease his tension.
Zenitsu, trusting Ryuji, closed his eyes. Ryuji positioned himself to the side, allowing Zenitsu to face away from him.
Then, Ryuji instantly drew his two-colored Nichirin sword. In the next instant, the sharp blade descended towards the crab on Zenitsu's lip.
The blade, reflecting the sunlight, flickered through Zenitsu's eyelids, momentarily dazzling him.
Ryuji's Nichirin sword landed on the crab but didn't cut it.
As if sensing the killing intent of Ryuji's Nichirin sword, the crab immediately released its grip and fell to the ground, scurrying back into the stream.
At the same time, sensing something amiss, Zenitsu opened his eyes. The sight before him made him sit down hard on the ground.
There happened to be a protruding rock there. His fall resulted in a painful blow to his backside.
The pain made Zenitsu jump up. In that jump, his nose brushed against Ryuji's Nichirin sword; he felt the hairs on his nose being scraped off by the sharp blade.
Zenitsu stiffened, his body frozen like a statue. Enduring the pain in his backside, he stared wide-eyed, not daring to move.
His expression gradually contorted with discomfort.
Ryuji sheathed his sword. The moment he did, Zenitsu cried out.
"Waaah~"
"It hurts so much! Ryuji, were you trying to kill me?"
Ryuji said coldly, "Alright! Stop yelling! Don't you trust my swordsmanship?"
"You should have told me!" Zenitsu complained resentfully.
"With your courage, if I told you, you'd probably run away," Ryuji retorted.
Zenitsu couldn't argue and glared at Ryuji angrily.
"Quickly fill your water bottle. Let's search in another direction," Ryuji didn't want to continue arguing with Zenitsu and gave him instructions.
Zenitsu finally reacted, touched his lip, and found the crab was gone. His mood improved.
He had been too scared and focused on the pain in his backside to notice the crab had already released its grip and escaped.
"Where's the crab?" Zenitsu asked.
"It's already gone," Ryuji replied calmly.
