"Oh," Zenitsu Agatsuma was disappointed. He had been contemplating whether to steam or braise the crab. Now, he clearly wouldn't have the chance for revenge!
Zenitsu then clutched his backside, limped over, took out his water bottle, and awkwardly crouched by the stream to fill it.
Tanjiro, seeing Zenitsu's strange gait, asked Ryuji, "Ryuji, what happened to Zenitsu?"
Ryuji shook his head, indicating he didn't know.
Seeing Ryuji's lack of knowledge, Tanjiro asked Zenitsu with concern, "Zenitsu, what's wrong with your bottom?"
Zenitsu forced a wry smile and explained, "Nothing, I just fell on my bottom when Ryuji scared me."
Ryuji then looked at the spot where Zenitsu had sat, and saw a protruding, slightly jagged rock.
Ryuji understood what had likely happened.
Zenitsu had probably been hit squarely by the rock. Fortunately, it hadn't hit his…you-know-what. Otherwise, Zenitsu would have to consider becoming a eunuch or a woman.
However, Zenitsu loved women so much that if he lost his capabilities, he would probably go completely mad.
The fact that Zenitsu was perfectly normal meant his…you-know-what hadn't been injured, only his bottom.
Ryuji, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu continued their search in another direction. Considering Zenitsu's injured bottom, Ryuji and Tanjiro didn't run too fast.
Because of this, their search efficiency decreased significantly.
Soon, dusk fell. Zenitsu's cowardly nature immediately showed itself, forcing Ryuji to slow down.
Zenitsu was about to cling to Ryuji entirely. If Ryuji and Tanjiro ran, Zenitsu would probably explode on the spot.
"Ryuji, it's already evening! Can we go down the mountain?" Zenitsu asked fearfully.
"Zenitsu, evening is when {demons} are most active. Going down now might cause us to miss a good opportunity," Ryuji had no intention of going down.
Tanjiro had no objections; he knew this. The more it got into the night, the less they could slack off.
"Can we rest for a while?" Zenitsu suggested.
Ryuji considered it and finally agreed. Even though he didn't need much rest, he still had to consider Tanjiro and Zenitsu's feelings.
Ryuji's stamina was better than Tanjiro and Zenitsu's, thanks to the Breath of the Forest.
After nearly half a month of exploration, Ryuji had grasped some characteristics of the Breath of the Forest.
From what he understood, the Breath of the Forest was a supportive breathing technique. It lacked offensive capabilities and couldn't enhance physical attributes.
Its only characteristic was to accelerate the recovery of body cells. In other words, Ryuji's recovery ability was stronger than others thanks to the Breath of the Forest.
This was why Ryuji was basically never tired; his physical exhaustion could be quickly recovered through the Breath of the Forest.
