The hyenas growled threateningly, circling them like intelligent predators.
"We need a startle." Hazel whispered softly.
"I'll handle that." Apollo answered. With a flick of his arm, lightning shot around them, startling the creatures.
"Aarav, you support Rika to handle the monster hyenas." Iruca said, changing her bow. "We have to break formation."
"Indeed." Weng Lan remarked, calling Seraphina over to guard her while she took care of the other hyenas.
Understanding the situation, Hazel, Apollo, Tian Yi, and Luke decided to stall the leader, while the rest finished off the others.

Two monster-ranked hyenas lunged at Rika, their claws scratching against her shield—she held firm.

From behind her, Aarav appeared and dug his axe into the soft belly of the closest hyena. The weapon cut deep into its hide, almost slicing it open.
