Odette continued sobbing until she heard someone knock on the door.
"Who?"
"Uhm, it's me, Milady," Ruru said at the other side of the door.
Odette quickly wiped her tears, cleared her throat, and said, "Open the door, Ruru. It's fine."
Ruru opened the door and saw Lady Odette sitting on the bed. She tried to look strong and somewhat nonchalant, but Ruru heard her sobs outside.
She had been waiting outside for a long time. She wanted to know the conversation between His Majesty and Lady Odette, but her king had his way to block the voices around him, making it impossible for Ruru and Rori to ever eavesdrop on his conversation despite having super hearing.
"Have you been waiting outside all this time?" Odette asked.
Ruru shook her head out of courtesy, knowing that Lady Odette didn't like showing weakness to anyone.
Odette smiled, and patted the spot next to her on the bed, "Come and sit with me, Ruru."
"I cannot, Milady. I am your attendant—"
