Their war room hadn't changed, it had the same low hum of hardware, same clutter of holograms stacked over worn-out blueprints and flickering scan grids. Dust clung to the edges like time itself refused to move on.
Kyra walked a few steps ahead, calm, like she'd never left this place. I kept my eyes on the path, but I could feel something crawling beneath my skin.
Then there he was.
Axel.
"What the fuck Axel, put some clothes on!" Kyra yelled immediately she set her eyes on him.
"You're one to talk," I muttered under my breath but she heard me.
"Ughhh, at least I have something on" she said, hitting my chest playfully.
"That's if see through counts"
"Whatever"
Axel was standing shirtless at the far end of the room, chest glistening with a sheen of sweat, like he'd just come out of a spar or something harder, but he had just finished fucking.
He was looking taller than I remembered, meaner, maybe. His eyes locked on me like I was something unfinished.
