Some would call it determination, but in short, Amelia was a very stubborn girl. She regained consciousness multiple times, and each time, she was ready to pounce on whoever was next to her. In the common room, there were three other girls apart from Hildr and Amelia, who kept on getting knocked out. The other three girls sat far from Amelia and watched as Hildr continuously knocked her out. When night came, Amelia finally calmed down. This time, she woke up and just looked around at everything. The rage simmering in her eyes was still unimaginable, but she did not attack. She looked at the girls seated far from her and then at Hildr, who was seated on a chair placed next to the leather couch.
Hildr looked at Amelia, and Amelia looked at this woman who was the source of all her trouble.
"Since you have regained some level of brain function, we should talk like civilized people," said Hildr.
Grrraggeeerr, Amelia growled like a beast, but she stayed on the couch.
The other students were already trembling at the scene. One of their roommates was the Cursed Princess, and the other had at first seemed normal, but they now realized that she was insane. The girls were already scared, and some of them even wanted to leave this room and ask for a transfer. Unfortunately, Hildr had threatened them with terrible fates should they leave the room.
After the first time Hildr knocked out Amelia, she understood that she needed to clean up the scene before things became too troublesome. She had used her magia and called Ulf, her father's Grand Vizier. King Harrald had insisted that Hildr take Ulf along with her. Even though the king knew that his daughter and his left-hand man did not get along, he also understood that Hildr's time at the academy would be easier with Ulf by her side. Ulf was very capable in all his duties, and he could also act as her guard since he was also a very powerful Draugr.
Even though Hildr had not been allowed to bring her servants into the academy, she had managed to negotiate with the academy to allow her one bodyguard, since her position as heir to the Night King invited a lot of assassinations. The academy had agreed, and Hildr chose Ulf to be that bodyguard. She was not stupid enough to not make use of Ulf due to emotions while ignoring the fact that he was the most qualified, thus the most useful.
Once the academy accepted Ulf on the campus, Ulf was given accommodations and allowed to follow Hildr around. The Draugr Domain had of course paid a great price for the academy to accept this change to their policy.
Once Ulf arrived, Hildr had explained the situation to him, and without being told what to do next, Ulf had begun by quickly fixing the door and the walls using his mortal spell. The fact that Ulf could use a mortal spell already showed his value. Ulf had then suggested killing Amelia on the spot and then wiping the memories of the other girls. When the girls heard this suggestion, they felt their bones shiver. Hildr had shot down this suggestion, since it carried too much risk. If discovered, the consequences would be far more than she could currently handle.
"I will handle it," she told Ulf.
Ulf did not try and object to Hildr, since he understood her personality very well. He simply left that room, and he was currently waiting outside the door.
"I need to have a talk with my friend here," Hildr told the other girls.
Two of them looked at Hildr as though they were ready to cause some trouble, and the third girl did not dare look at Hildr. After a few seconds of confrontation, the girls returned to their private rooms and closed the door.
"Since you are still alive, I guess that you were saved by the government. You must have told them everything that happened at Lemuria Academy."
Hmmmph, Amelia snorted defiantly.
"If I was the Premier, I would find a way to get you survivors to keep your mouths shut about everything. I would probably resort to the Divine Oath with one of the more powerful gods. I would make the oath so strict and the consequences so severe that none of you would ever think about spilling the beans. I would in fact make sure that you would not even be able to tell other people that you were at Lemuria Academy. I would do all this so as not to start a war with the Children of the Night and their allies. Apart from using the stick, I would of course offer a few carrots to you so that you can go along with my plans."
As Hildr spoke, Amelia was left shaken, with her heart barely beating. She could not believe what she was hearing. At least eighty percent of the things Hildr was talking about were what had happened with the Premier. The other twenty percent were even more sinister than the methods that the Premier had used to suppress the survivors. For Hildr to deduce all this showed her great mind, and this terrified Amelia, since this meant that Hildr was not just some psycho but a brilliant one at that.
"Since there is nothing you can do about our tragic past, I suggest we move forward. Right now, attacking me will do you no good, since I am far more powerful than you are, and on top of this, the rules of this place will be on my side if we are discovered fighting. You will be expelled, and I am sure the principal will use this as an excuse to act against me. Since neither of us will benefit from fighting at this moment, how about we come to an understanding that can allow both of us to move forward with our lives?" Hildr's words were so logical and properly put that Amelia found herself thinking about the offer.
