Even with logic on her side, Hildr still needed an entire hour to convince Amelia of the wisdom in her words.
"You can come in," Hildr cried out.
Three doors opened at the same time. The three girls that had earlier left the common room returned. It was clear that they had been eavesdropping on the conversation. Hildr did not mind this. Since they were going to spend seven years together, it was good that they learn a few things from the very beginning. Besides, she had not exposed anything truly condemning.
The three girls sat down. Amelia got up and sat on the couch. She gave Hildr a death stare. Hildr did not need to be told that she was not wanted anywhere near the young woman. She carried her chair and moved to the side.
"Let us introduce ourselves," she said.
No one said a thing after that. They all just looked at each other with suspicion and even fear.
"I will go first. I am Hildr Draugadottir. You can just call me Hildr. I am from the Draugr Clan. I hope we can all get along peacefully."
Hildr's words left everyone in the room shaken by this new level of shamelessness. She was asking for them to get along peacefully after everything that had just happened. This was clearly impossible, and yet she had spoken with so much sincerity that doubting her would seem impossible.
After introducing herself, everyone, including Amelia, looked at her as though she had just spoken about a taboo. She did not mind their stares. She smiled brightly and waited for someone else to introduce themselves. She wanted to learn as much as she could about these girls. She did not want any more surprises.
"I am Lunaria Solisphor. I am from the Spirit Clan. I am a Moon Spirit. I also hope to get along with everyone," said one of the girls. This girl wore a long grey dress that reached her feet. She was about 160 centimeters. She had delicate features and green eyes. She could only be called cute and nothing else. She was the more timid of the other three girls in the room.
Hildr made note of all the details she had just given away. Hildr then looked at the other two girls.
One of them had headsets around her neck. These were of course not normal headsets but a magia device. She wore blue jeans and a plain black shirt. She had long red hair, and her eyes looked like two suns. She gave off an aura that Hildr had never come across. Hildr had estimated the danger each of the girls posed to her, and this girl was the biggest threat. Each of her actions screamed danger, and her red eyes were filled with Sol.
Hildr intensely looked at this girl. It was clear that she wanted her to go next. The two looked at each other. It was clear that these two did not like each other, and the slightest disagreement could lead to a fight to the death.
Amelia was surprised by this, since she had not had any issues with this girl. When Amelia first met this girl, the two had gotten along just fine. They had even exchanged their names and even had a chat right before Hildr showed up.
"Is she angry because of my issues with Hildr?" thought Amelia.
"I am Narantaka Agneya. I am from the Spirit Clan. I am a Fire Spirit," said the young woman.
Hildr looked at her as though she was not buying what this young woman was selling.
"My friends call me Nara," she continued while staring at Hildr. The message was very clear. Hildr was not one of these friends.
Hildr did not care about this. What truly bothered her was that she was sure that no Fire Spirit would ever make her feel the way she was feeling now. She had faced the old principal of Lemuria Academy, and she had not gotten this kind of feeling, even though the old man had been far more powerful than this girl before her. She did not believe that this girl was a Fire Spirit, and yet there was no other explanation for the fire Sol that was coming off her body.
"You can also call me Luna," said Lunaria Solisphor, the shy girl.
Hildr just smiled at her before looking at the last girl.
This girl was quite beautiful, but she did not seem to know this fact. She wore black jeans and a hoodie. Her hair was styled, but that was all. She did not seem to care about anything else. She did not place much care on her nails, and she did not even have any earrings. She was quite curvy, with smooth black skin that seemed to glow in the light. She was a great beauty who did not care about beauty. Her brown eyes were locked on Hildr. These eyes hid a great anger that Hildr easily noticed.
"I am Shetani wa Wazee. My parents have a warped sense of humor, so do not ask me what the name means. You can just call me Shet. I am a shapeshifter," she said. Her voice was sweet and calmer than the raging anger in her eyes.
Hildr could not remember ever meeting this young woman, and yet the young woman hated Hildr with a passion that could only be found in the eyes of enemies who were meeting after a long time apart.
"What kind of shapeshifter are you?" Hildr asked. There were many shapeshifter clans among the Otherkind, and each clan was very different from the next. Since this woman hated her, Hildr wanted to know more about her so that she could deal with any issues that may arise.
"That information is reserved for friends. I will tell you once you become my friend," Shet said in an even sweeter voice. One could not even tell that she hated the person she was talking to.
